Day 4 of 12/12 lighting.

Yesterday her thirst increased dramatically.

I have been running 3 fertigations of 40 seconds each. Run off was small but increasing with each feed. That is until yesterday. I noticed she looked a little floppy. External basin was dry.

Through out the day, I slowly (30 second feedings at a time) added 6 full minutes before I had run off. 😳😳😳

I might need to increase again, it’s just a lush of a plant. Drinks every drop given.

She also sweats droplets, I don’t know if that’s because she’s dialed in or if it’s a bad sign. I added a couple leaflets pictures with droplets showing. At first, I thought I had a bug problem, but it is all sweaty not buggy!

Hey there, I read back a page you were concerned about the height. Fro the pics I see you could bend it over and drop a foot of height easily. I've been pushing this Kyle Kushman Chiropractic thing I saw on YT when I did it to mine I could bend them down to the floor or close anyways without breaking the stalk I needed to keep my lights off the lights in veg.......

Its just a technique I was impressed with and thought it could help you lower your plant......you'd have to disassemble your trellis set up I think but have a look at one of his video's if this is news to you....

Companion plants that eat the visitors.

The temperature, humidity and light levels are perfect for carnivores. Protection from Organics is the trick.

These sundews live in a fish bowl near the vegetation area. A few seedlings from the larger plant are popping out of the sphagnum in another bowl.

Today’s photo update.

Bay area grow, tangerine dream auto.
Pre flower showed up a week ago, tufts showing now and she’s putting on 2 inches a day.

Second plant is the second plant in the foothills. Golden kiwi x watermelon punch. It was a neglected clone, it has about 15 nodes 😂😂😂😂. I’m not sure what to do with it yet. I’m kinda letting it find its roots and put on weight before I start messing with her shape.

Last up: foothill grow number one. Apple and bananas. Flipped it to 12/12 five days ago. Drinks like a drunken sailor, growing quickly, but I expect it to stretch greatly in a couple more days.

The weather is stormy and humid, the shed and tent are remaining right in the happy spot for temperatures and rh.

Tuesday, storm day, warm rains in California, plants appear to love it, but I’m worried about the chances of mold.

It’s currently raining and nearly 60 degrees, probably be like this all day.

Pics are from three plants.
First up, the most recent clone.
It has about 12 nodes on it and greening up nicely. It was dried up, yellowing and many burnt leaves.
It’s looking much nicer.

Second up, the bigger plant from the foothills. Still no buds, been on 12/12 for about five days. It’s turning into a little beast, about two feet high but thickening up nicely.

Last up, Bay Area grow: tangerine dream auto, it’s getting bigger than I expected 😯

Three plants in two locations, both are loving the spring weather.

All are using Flora Nova line of nutrient. I’m a happy customer.

First up, apples and bananas, flipped 8 days ago. Hasn’t fully stretched yet, but getting there. She drinks a lot. I’ve had to quadruple the fertigation times as it started to stretch. I’ll drop it back down as soon as she drops into full flower mode.

Second one is golden kiwi x watermelon punch. She was abused as a clone, but getting happy with the right environment. Still working on roots, but I can see some new leaves and branches popping too so I think she’s settling in.

Last up, tangerine dream auto.
Full stretch, putting on 3 inches a day 😳

I don’t know how long it’s gonna do that, but it’s doubled in size in 5 days 😋😋😳😳

I found the first pre flower hairs today on the bigger plant in the foothills.
There aren’t a lot of them, but with a little searching the show up.

8 days from 12/12 flip, she hasn’t started a proper stretch yet though.

I have about 12 - 14 inches up to the mesh and another 12 to the light.

I’m hoping she was paying attention in yoga class because I think she’s going to need to be limber!

Things change daily now for two of my plants.

Foothills 1, is firmly in week 1 of flowering. I found the first pre flower indicator one day and it was a full on bud the next day.
Still stretching but the stacking is beginning.

Foothills 2, is experiencing a slow vegetation while the plant in the tent goes through the fruiting process. I’ll flip it in about 5 or 6 weeks so I can get her in the tent as soon as the current plant is harvested.

Bay Area 1 is at the end of week 2. Every bud site looks like Don King hiding behind bushes 😂🤪. She began stretching at 14 inches and currently measures 37 inches. Hopefully done stretching and all stacking in her future.

None of the plants display any trichomes yet, but the plant in the Bay Area, week 2 of flower, appears to have some shiny specks in the new leaves around the bud sites. I’m guessing those are the first trichomes showing up.

Nothing has any strong aromas yet.

That is a living rock, it’s a South African succulent.
Where did you get this? I've been to South Africa a couple of times and I've never seen this. How does it grow? Does it have roots or is it an air plant?

I bought some at on amazon as dry root, others as seed.
They are called Lithops (genus).
They are literally rock eaters, so anywhere in So. Africa where it’s gravely should have a chance of them growing.
They want little to no organic matter and only a small amount of water at certain times of the year.
They are a little more temperamental than weed in mid-flower, which is a little more temperamental than a teenager during puberty!

So same care regime as, say, a Venus Flytrap?

Hey there, I read back a page you were concerned about the height. Fro the pics I see you could bend it over and drop a foot of height easily. I've been pushing this Kyle Kushman Chiropractic thing I saw on YT when I did it to mine I could bend them down to the floor or close anyways without breaking the stalk I needed to keep my lights off the lights in veg.......

Its just a technique I was impressed with and thought it could help you lower your plant......you'd have to disassemble your trellis set up I think but have a look at one of his video's if this is news to you....
I just did exactly that on my plant in the Bay Area, it went from 14” to 37” during stretch! It had a main cola and to side colas that were going to get too close to the light so I bent and tied them off, I’ll do the same in for the Foothills plant when I return.
.
Both plants are neck and neck. The Bay Area plant is an auto which started into flower about 10 days ahead of the Foothills plant. Foothills plant is a photoperiod plant with an estimated 9-10 weeks to finish flowering. The Bay Area plant is a 10 - 12 week finisher. I’ll probably be really busy both places in the same week!

Some of the same things.
.
VFT wants to remain constantly wet in either rainwater or distilled. Zero organic and almost 0 minerals too. They live in sphagnum and water. The Lithops wants gravel/rock/decomposed granite etc. with just a little organic (usually worm castings) and will tolerate minerals pretty well.

Ahhh Gotcha! Yeah the VF's I have are finicky with water and humidity levels. I made a peat garden container with a few of them in it. I give them RO and they seem to like it.
