Looks like you are going to get something to smoke out of it, and it's good you have ordered a 400W HPS, now things will start cooking, and we will get some action.

You can put a 400W six inches from the top of the plant, and as long as you have a fan blowing over the top of the plants it wont burn them.

We'll it's up and going I'm having vent n cooling issues way to hot for gals there sitting 97° n that's not hr running I raised light but is there such a thing as 2 much air blowing on them ????

You should see the tops of the plants moving from the fan blowing on them.
The fan blowing on them will also prevent mold later in flower when the buds get big.

Well the 400 watt hps is a no go, I cannot satisfy temp for gals I tried so much even took a window unit and added it to the room to help... I cannot get it under 95° at all last night this is not good ... I'm switching back to 120 watt led 2x 150 cfls 2x 75 cfls and adding a mars 300 watt led veg/flower ... only thing I can do beside cut a hole in bottom in tent and run a vent system itself and I just can't. Well I can wife won't. ...

My main problem is I have to use closet or tent because I have lights off in day time and on at night ... well ill see what this will produce...

My main problem is I have to use closet or tent because I have lights off in day time and on at night ... well ill see what this will produce...

I have a 2x2x5 tent with 400 watt mh/hps.

If your exhaust fan is well sized. You can just condition the air of the room the tent lives in. This way temp+humidity is easier to control.

I find that if I keep my home air at °68-°70. That I can keep my tent temps around 80°.

The next thing that helps a lot is the cooltube spliced into the exhaust stream.

Hope some of this helps.

I have grown in a closet with a 400W, I didn't have any temp problems.

One grow I just left the door of the closet open when the light was on, with a fan blowing into the closet.

The other time I got a small exhaust fan and made a hole in the back of the closet and put it there.

Well I've tried it's not working. I also a surrounded by swamps so I can barely get my house to 74° at times.its so humid n horrid here, on a good cool night you still sweat.. my house ac units up to date and still has trouble. .. my neighbors do a swamp cooler type setup or keep a hose or pvc on roof of house just to get it some what comfortable. . I mean already this yr we seen 100° weather n its not fully summer. . It does suck we had cut our trees to build our home we lost alot of shade ...

What are your plants looking like, it may not be ideal temp for them but if they are still handling it then I would say keep going.

I mean you know how hot it can get standing in the sun outdoors, get plants do this all day, so I think they should be right.

Don't get too concerned about the facts and figures of temp and humidity, just go by how the plants are looking.

Went back to old setup sitting at 85°
