I'm doing the sea of green and topping for my first LED grow. After I fill the screen that will be the sign to switch right? My tent is 5 feet.

Well that really depends on how full you want it.. Are you tucking them under and all that?
Can you throwa pic up of it

The little ladies aren't ready yet. Only a couple inches now. Just getting the second set of true leaves. But I do plan on keeping them under the screen and then switch to 12/12 after the fill up the bottom of the grow tent. From my research it was my understanding this is the most effective way to get a good yield with an LED.

Yea that's what I've seen myself.. SOG looks awesome but just seems like you have to have a ton of plants. I will be finishing my scrog asap.. Yea when you get a chance throw a pic up of the scrog & sog set up or whatever ya got. Pics just help us help you even more brother

Absolutely, so normally people don't do the SOG with a small grow? Does it harm the plant if you are doing a small grow? I have the room to just top them and do a mainline if that would be better.

SOG = sea of green
SCOG=Screen Of Green
SCOG works better in small spaces you can use the screen to flatten out the canopy and give you more colas. Quicker then the Mainline technique.

When I make the screen and start manipulating the plant do I wait until the screen is filled until switching to 12/12? I have two seeds for indoor grow that sprouted. I paid for 10 seeds and received a extra ten marked "freebies". One of each sprouted. But I can't say for sure if the "freebies" are all females or just random extra. So I have a concern because I only know for sure of the one being a female.

i believe you do, I have not done a SCOG grow. That sounds about right though,once the screen is full you can start flowering.
Yes freebies,some times depending on where you got them from. They tell you what you get for spending so much or buying certain Breeder packs.
So you might be able to find out what you got. But if they are all mixed together loosely,good luck.

The freebies were kept seperate from the the strand I purchased from Nirvana. I am worried that I will switch to 12/12 and the "freebie" one will be a male and I am now stuck trying to remove a plant under a screen from the sure female.

I recently make a bean purchase also and it tells you which seeds are which like fem, reg, auto etc on the email you get back after purchase

The email only states "10 mystery seeds". I will pray to the cannabis gods that they are feminized beans.

They seem to be kicking it and doing fine. I have the temp around 87 & humidity around 80%
I did 2 of each in soil and solo cups & 4 in rapid rooters

2 each with clonex & 2 each with pure honey

Lookin good brother, let me know how the honey works, should be the same but haven't personally tried it

this is your first grow yeah?? Imo might pay to attack it with the kiss outlook get to know the plant/strain and how it grows and what she love's/hates before you go employing advanced methods like main lining as it can have extremely negative affects to the plant and over all yield also with sog dont topp the plant as this will slow the growth there for slow the grow and kinda defeats the whole purpose of sog

It's my second indoor grow. But my first indoor grow trying out LED. In your opinion being a new grower should I just stick to topping it and not doing the screen? I don't wanna get in over my head and jack up my first "legit" attempt at a nice grow.

So going to top it I guess. If my tent is 5 feet and I am using a hydro 300 LED at what height is it safe to switch to flowering without damaging the plant?
