If you can just turn off the dosers and leave the water on to keep water level the same (ro on the float right?). Then you can see If they are eating and then increase your nutrients when you know they are eating. Make sense?
I would yes. If plants are eating then the ph should go up. Remember different nutrients are available at different ph. When I mix I usually start at 5.4 and let it get to 6.0-6.4 before I add ph down again.

Water temps.
In fla never had a rot problem because everything was always at 72 degrees in the grow. water was always a few degrees colder.
Up north now, these 4 seasons are sure messing with me
