Ok, I am a big fan of all things Subcool right now, including his cultivation techniques.

How long does a batch of Supersoil stay "good"?

I mixed up a batch around a year ago and I still have a fair amount left.

Does anyone know what happens over time (1 year and beyond) to this wonderful mix?

Subcool said: that it becomes less 'hot' nutrient wise ; soil that is 'hot' in that sense has the potential to cause harm to developing cannabis. He further commented that the ratio of Subcool Soil to Regular Soil (i.e. Roots Organic Soil) changed in that you could use increasing amounts of Subcool Soil as time passed. We're talking 6 months to a year as the sweet spot (correct me if I'm Wrong).

The only nutrient that has a real chance of escaping the soil is Nitrogen.

yeah, i suspected that N might be released over time. The ss still smells and looks great, so I assumed it was still good to go.

Initially I was thinking that I could add some blood meal to recharge the mix a bit. But I am just going to use alot more of the ss mix per container.

Maybe I will make some "spikes" of blood and bone meal just to be thorough.
