What’s your solution temp at?

Not sure if it’s a .2 difference but worth a shot to test at 25c?

I don’t check EC or even PH anymore so I’ll let others chime in with more experience in the field

Also yes the cheap pens be it EC / PH will never be as accurate as a bluelab etc but it’ll “keep ya honest” and give ya a basic range

Yes that was stupid of me because the temperature can affect the reading and I did it in my kitchen which is like an oven. I'll do it again in my grow room.

I hope that's not true because I've just given them another 2 litres of water each with molasses and liquid seaweed. I put 1 tablespoon of molasses and 6 millilitres of seaweed in 6 litres of water.

for another excellent "sugar" base additive check out FOOP Sweetner (has 7 organic sugars) but a bit expensive

What I would do is replace molasses to a pure humic acid product, did it many years ago, more carbon and many more benefits than molasses, the microherd in the soil like humic acid more than molasses in the long run.

1 grow fert for veg 1x per week
1 bloom fert and/or flower booster for flowering 1x per week
1 pure humic acid liquid bottle 1x per week. (The in between feeds watering would be with this)
And that's it.
If you want to be advanced kiss method add a myco product like great white, recharge or mycos every 2 weeks.

New product alert: Miicrobial Mass (Unlocks Phosphorus and also Iron to boost yields) this has increased my plant size by 50% at present running out of grow space at week 4 !! really don'tknow what to do except stop using Miicroboal ?

Do you think a vent for the door of my grow room similar to this would be a good idea? If there was negative pressure in the room then it would constantly suck in fresh air. I could cover the inside vent with some sort of fabric to keep out pests.

Probably not because you said your ac isn't keeping up with the heat already if you intake more hot air it's will be even worse.

That's a good point, if the air that's being sucked in is hot air then it's not going to help. I could keep the aircon in the room that it's being sucked from on constantly to make sure the air being sucked in is cold but that is obviously going to increase my electric bill significantly. We are however thinking of getting solar panels out on the roof of our new house and if we do then it'll give me more options for growing if I don't have an electric bill each month.

I was thinking of doing a 16 plant SOG for my next grow but I'm struggling to get hold of clones so there doesn't seem to be much point if I have to grow the plants from seed because it won't make the grow much quicker than it would normally be. Maybe one day when I have mother plants I will do this. Instead, I was thinking of doing 9 plants in my 4x4 tent, which will only be possible if I use 3 gallon pots. With 9 plants in a 4x4 it'll obviously be crowded but I was also thinking of reducing the veg time so that the plants don't get too big. Do you think 9 plants in a 4x4 is feasible or not worth the risk because of all the potential problems it could cause?

9 smaller plants is perfectly fine with less veg time in a 4x4 tent, start cloning your genetics and doing moms, when you start getting good at cloning you gonna make things go much faster.

These were taken this morning. They look healthier and they're losing their yellow colour since I turned the light down and raised it. Yes Trash, these lights are indeed "strong ass bitches" and I have seriously underestimated their power twice now. Hopefully I have learnt my lesson with this now. The tallest canopy is 23" from the light and getting 440 PPFD and the shortest is 29" from the light and getting 360 PPFD. The smallest plant doesn't seem to grow very fast which is a shame because the canopies are uneven. Should I introduce another SCROG net and start training the taller plants now? The pots are still quite heavy and the soil is moist enough for the feed to wait another day which will be four days since the last watering. I was expecting them to want water more frequently by now? The foliage under the canopies is very dense. Maybe I should get rid of some of it?

Wait till day 21 to clean under the canopy (lollipoping), and maybe defoliate some strategic leaves.
They are recovering from the tan they got, but all is good just water /feed when they need, it's ok if they are drinking the same as they are recovering and their metabolism is a bit slower than normal.

Ok cool. I have been learning about VPD today. Do you think I should buy an IR temperature sensor so I can calculate accurate VPD or am I getting too scientific too early? And should I add another SCROG net and start training my plants?

the extra net its on you tho if you feel like putting it go for it.

If you buy a IR gun buy a good brand, factory calibrated one and set it to 0.98 Reflectance.

But chasing VPD can be counterproductive too, its good to have if you have how to control it, you just need mainly a powerful dehumidifier and a good AC to achieve that, a dry region you would need also a humidifier in the equation lol.

If not VPD controlling make sure at night time there's no condensing happening and no RH spikes. a dehumi is always safe to have for when we need it.

VPD for me is about being in the appropriate zone, condition-wise. Chasing it is a never ending venture, but knowing your exact conditions is always helpful, and then nudge them towards what your plants want.

That laser thermometer is also useful for tons more around the house!

Apera ph/ec pens are also very good quality, and iirc might be a little cheaper than bluelab.

Also have in mind that probably those leaves that got "fried" will slowly yellow and die through the course of flower, nothing can be done about that, one time they fry the dmg is done.

And my apera is waterproof, an improvement over the cheap pens from China.

This was taken this morning. They're looking good but as you can see I have a problem with uneven canopies and the plant in the foreground is several inches smaller than the other two. Do you think I should use another trellis to bend the taller plant's stems down and make them the same height as the shortest plant? Obviously there's a problem with the plants getting different levels of PPFD?
