Grew up hunting and fishing. First childhood memory is getting into my old man's takle box on a camping trip and getting a few hooks stick in my hand and my grandma removing them. Weren't bad, but I was like 2 1/2, summer of 1960 at lake Casitas in Ojai, ca. Hunting, fishing and growing veggies are part of me at this point and I make a mean bluegill fish taco with home grown shredded purple cabbage.

To each their own. Eating vegan is healthier and if you can do it go for it. Once I suffer that first heart attack we'll see, until then it's cream in my coffee, cheese and milk, BACON! and red meats. Only live once.

I hear ya, I was the same, hunted and fished my whole life. As much as I hold a deep appreciation for what it means to be a part of the natural cycle of life and killing for sustenance, I really had a hard time killing and always found it very difficult to pull the trigger, im just too empathetic I guess, but I get it. And I have respect for people who live with that appreciation for what it actually means to eat meat.

I honestly feel 10 years younger to tell you the truth. BP of 110/72 and a resting pulse of 56-57. Chronic eczema is gone completely and I gained muscle and lost fat. The hardest part is navigating around the social stigma of being in such a marginalized minority, and living in a world where I literally cant find a damn thing to eat when I'm out lol.

May have been the light or flash. It's nighttime and the led's were burning. Best pics are middle of the day in fill sun.

I've got 3 with 8 tops and 5 with 4 ready to be trimmed. With so many seeds planted (27) I may just move all 8 out to flower. Haven't been sexed yet so a few more will be culled. That would leave me with 9 little omes and 2 of those aren't growing as well as the other 7 so time for them to go as well. That should give me room for about a dozen of the seedlings.

Bought cat litter in a bucket tonight. Really like those buckets

They are great! I grow oregano in the big yellow ones with the handle, and I also get it in 2 gal. white rectangular containers that I used to mix my nutes, so cats are pretty good all-around, I keep a couple catnip plants in the veg tent for mine

More people are realizing it and we see places popping up specializing in vegan here in San Diego. The more people want it the more it will become available. Just look at pot!

I'm smart enough to study the science but dumb enough not to act on it. More of that ol "human condition" thing. Hell, I smoked for 40+ years, there's little hope of seeing 70. It's okay, we all go and when that time comes my pain will finally end. After half my life experiencing severe back pain on and off I look forward to never feeling it again.

Remember what Eric Idle once said...

I'm an avid fisherman. Would love to hunt but just never had the chance to get into it but spent plenty of time on farms growing up. I think its important people understand where there food comes from and learn to respect that. The way i see it is if ya can't kill it you shouldn't eat it. It just awakens you to the fact a life was taken for you to eat and you sure respect your food a lot more when you know that. You also know where it came from and how it was processed. I'm not saying that people should only eat what they kill just experience it for that awakening effect. Just my opinion

Lol none taken. But man if I had a dime for every time I've heard it...

Seems like ever since I stopped shooting the local deer they are less skittish around me, like they know I'm not gonna eat 'em lol. I realize that sounds delusional, but I'm serious.

These guys are chillin about 20 meters outside my shop at work as I type this. I could walk up to about 5 feet away before they get up and walk away. Never had this kind of luck when I was a hunter haha.View attachment 905457View attachment 905458

I like your grandapas style. I totally agree if you kill something it should be because you're gonna eat it, or it was gonna eat you... Killing for "sport" pisses me off. Conversely, I also think if you're gonna eat something you should also have no problem killing it. I've got more respect for hunters and fisherman than i do for people who cant handle the dirty work but have no problem letting someone else do it for them.

But that's just like, my opinion man...

I hear ya man, I don't want to make fun of your problem I was just razzing you. I make so many fk ups when I smoke these days, I just figured everyone else does the same. Like pulling out my 3 nutes brown, green and pink I feed em brown then mix it in then I feed em pink and mix it in then I go wtf have I done and end up putting in more pink instead of green and double dosing the poor things with too many of 1 nute and none of another. I blame that on old age too but the real problem is good smoke. lol
