pm or early signs of molding on my outdoor (small crop) treeline grows with poor breezeway I'll only use 1 part whole milk to 8 parts distilled water & mist spray the entire plant. Done early morning for 3 days and it seems to take care of itself for me (until the next time it shows its ugly face, lol).

I do however monitor frequently and catch first signs very early so its been manageable this way. Last year with a wet fall & in bud I did my best on sunny days when it showed on a few with no ill effects in the end product.

I would have to say the consensus is if the bud's got PM, don't smoke it. I guess it's a question of whether or not spores are present.

Easier said than done, though. For instance, we own our property and home. Not only would it be difficult in the first place to sell (and, I'm sorry, but selling property because of powdery mildew seems an incredibly silly thought to me) but then what? I grew up with a man who always thought the grass was greener elsewhere.

To the poisons... perhaps, if that's a route one feels comfortable with. I don't, to the point that I hand-pull weeds, including poison oak. The more I read about how many of these products work and what ends up becoming a huge IN-efficacy rate, I find that for me, in my scenario, it's just not worth the risk.

In any event, I haven't experienced any problems outside of the girls taking FOREVER to sex (finally put the last one in-ground yesterday). Outdoors, under the Good Sun and breathing Fine Mountain Air, receiving their organic nutrition from the soil food web, my plants are quite happy and are disease-free.

But! If I go back indoors...? I will probably be re-examining cleanliness and how to maintain it, because otherwise the balance is tipped too much in favor of pathogens pests. HEPA filtration would be a beginning, agreed? Beyond that, taking true quarantine procedures and putting them to practice would be a must. What else can you think of, besides the filtration, that would help prevent disease or pests from getting a foothold and decimating a grower's rooms?

Double-door entryway (with an airlock kind of area)? I've seen Soya'nara do the same thing, plus it makes their leaves shiny. Damn I wish I could find more of that stuff!

My own thinking goes beyond environment towards a "total conditions" thing. And that's because of my fish experience. Fish and invertebrates will do best if optimal conditions are provided along with optimal nutrition. Not just clean water of excellent parameters (optimal pH, temperature, specific gravity @1.024, 0ppm NH3/4, 0ppmNO2, 0ppmNO3, 0ppm P, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera), but the best nutrition that can be provided. For fish, generally speaking (let's leave out the specialists here), that means many sources and types of food that's as fresh as it can possibly be.

What would that be for plants? In my line of thinking, it's leaning toward organic feeds (after having gone through the microbe) and away from chemical salt feeds.

Organic feedings and beneficial microbes are my way...even when I stray, I always come back to Organics. Kelps and neems are a good "skin" protector. As for environment...I still insist that if your plants are already thriving and healthy they should be able to shake off small or early detected disease and pathogen. Please keep in mind that I am a hobby gardener ATM and I am in my garden every day. I could see if a person had serious known issues with Rust or PM and have plants on a commercial scale that Sulfur burning as a preventative could/should be the normal regiment.
I'm smiling over hearing the news that everything is on track for ya Sea. I've had my bumps over the years..but never have lost a crop due to disease...only giant fears that I might.
So to stay on topic of finding PM 5 weeks in, I must gently say, to never let it get that far...but it takes tons of elbow grease and problem solving....clearing branches..spraying plants cleaning rooms and locating your week spots such as humidity and air source. Good luck with bringing the crop home..it can be done it just has to remain organic.

OK so the Actinovate did diddly fuckin squat to the PM. If anything it just pissed it off! I even cleaned HOUSE before spraying, aaaarrrrggghhh. Anyone try PM wash? Thinking about using it. I might just suck it up and use Greencure. I just hate the way it burns the pistils. I know for a fact that it will keep the PM at bay for 2-3 weeks if used at full strength. If I hear good things about the PM wash I'll go that route.

OH! just thought about milk. I did a little research and many people say it's good to use in flower. Can anyone confirm this? Any taste or smell after harvest?

I spray greencure when needed right when the lights go off, and I mix up one small scoop per 32 oz of water........

Dutch Master Zone when needed at the rate of 15 ml Zone and 20 ml Saturator per 32 oz of water....

Eagle 20 gives you cancer and should not be legal at all! In fact its not legal in California for a reason.

1)Shut down your whole op, throw out all old pm clones and moms
2)clean up- wash with warm soapy water and then spray everything with a 5% bleach solution, let that air dry
3)sulphur burn the empty room not once, not twice, but thrice(this kills spores)
3A)If you are anal spray more bleach at this step, if not skip, either way smoke a bowl
4)re-line with new clean panda-plastic
5)start new seeds
6)spray and dip early in life as seedlings(when its easiest to do) with zone and saturator mix
7)burn more sulphur during the veg(always with the lights off!) cycle
8)continue to spray DMZ always as soon as the lights go off for best results and never spray under the lights when they are on if at all possible
9)burn sulphur again early in flower, up to but no later than, the third week or the onset of visible pistols clusters or buds(again only light out time and change the reso after the burn)
10)continue to spray DMZ and the light GreenCure rate of 1 small scoop(that they provide) per 32 oz of water throughout flower, I pull back all sprays the last 10 days if possible

thats exactly what I did when PM broke out in my grow space. Its the only way to beat it. if you dont gut your room and completely sanitize all over agian then you will be forever stuck treating symptoms.

I do need to be up a sulfur burner... How much do they run for and wheres the best place to buy one?

hey bro..arrrrg right?..What week are you in, 6? what's the story on your ventilation? I know you had to solve the attic out-take a couple months back. Are you filtering your intakes at all..could you be using a central air vent in the grow room?
Are the spots all white or did they start out as mainly dark like aphid doo doo??I think it is reasonable to say some houses are spore zones as well as surrounding vegetation...is your outdoor stuff clean? (if you have outdoor)
Did you cut out the lowers real good and lower the humidity? Spraying alone is not enough.

There is this new shit at me local shop that is some electro water or something. Supposedly it works up to day of harvest with no ill effects. I will get the name tomorrow and post it for you.

I am trying my best to grow 100% healthy cannabis that is truly fit for human consumption is all because I smoke the shit out of it.

I could SO pick your brain. I'm sure you're well aware of the methyl iodide hubbub of late, yes? WHY ON EARTH a product that scientists use specifically because it's so reliable in causing cancer (in test animals) would be approved for use on a food that doesn't do well even being washed is beyond my ability to fathom.

In fact, what you relay is one of the huge reasons why my husband and I have been working hard to develop our property. We've discussed adding grapes, but that's in the future and we don't know how much we'd need to grow in order to be able to make our own wine.

I guess smoking or inhaling carcinogens can lead to cancer in a round about sense but when it comes to cannabis, if you take the wrong chemicals out of the equation like Eagle20 which DEF has cancer causing ingredients then you will highly cut down on your chance of Cancer. On the same spectrum, some studies have concluded that Cannabis actually helps to combat cancer, or as an anti-cancer treatment. If it works with tumors the benefits could be limitless

Snowblind, I commend your stance on cannabis. I hold the same views and opinions and grow completely organic herb as I have been doing for 10 years. A lot of people get upset when I explain why they shouldn't be using chemicals to grow cannabis, but it's true. Eating chemicals is bad enough, but smoking them is a whole other thing. I use organic compost teas and haven't seen p.m. in over a year. I tried eagle 20 in veg one time a year ago cause it seemed I couldn't rid my p.m., but my plants still got p.m. As soon as I started using teas I stopped getting p.m. Obviously your environment must be perfect as well, but compost teas really do work wonders and more people in the cannabis industry should try to understand this since they are supposedly providing MEDICINE for PATIENTS.
