What is the purpose of putting them in paper bags before jarring them? After you cut them they need about a week to dry in total darkness. Then can put them into paper bags before jarring or using grove bags. Tween 58- 62 rh seems the sweet spot. The goal is slow dry in darkness then keep all buds away from the light. I keep finished buds in an insulated bag in the dark. OK?
What about using a fan on low in the dark to help dry? What is the purpose of putting them in paper bags before jarring them?
What's a Grove bag?
I've seen some people dry their buds under LEDs still, but on low power with a fan.
Is the darkness better?
Just dont put the fans blowing directly on the buds...drying with light ain't right. Paper bags help slowly draw out moisture. Flip them inside the bags so they dont go all flatsie on you. What about using a fan on low in the dark to help dry?
How long do you leave them in the bags before transferring them to jars?Just dont put the fans blowing directly on the buds...drying with light ain't right. Paper bags help slowly draw out moisture. Flip them inside the bags so they dont go all flatsie on you.

Individual bags for each branch?1 week
TJ bags are perfect, Burger King or Starbucks, anything that isn't coated really. You don't crowd the buds in the bag, they shouldn't be touching each other and no sex. I like to use the bags you get from the hospital for prescriptions too. They can all be stacked up. Everything @TSD said above is gospel. Paper bags help everything. I never understood the plastic or paper question. Huh?Individual bags for each branch?
Or one big bag?
What kind of bag, Paper bags from trader Joe's work?
I have plenty of paper grocery bags because I can never seem to remember my reusable ones... it remains a mystery why I'm so forgetfulTJ bags are perfect, Burger King or Starbucks, anything that isn't coated really. You don't crowd the buds in the bag, they shouldn't be touching each other
it remains a mystery why I'm so forgetfulI have plenty of paper grocery bags because I can never seem to remember my reusable ones... it remains a mystery why I'm so forgetfulI have a big outdoor harvest so I put more than you probably should in each bag, but I always leave a good amount of headroom and keep an eye on things. I refuse to let 7 months of work be ruined by negligence in drying/curing... only had one snafu since I got it dialed in, and that was my own stupidity for trying to wash a full plant, hang it, and then going out of town for 2 days... fluffy white mold took half my Super Silver Haze.... at least I had split it in half. Some lessons are painful to learn lol.
Should the paper bags be open at the top?TJ bags are perfect, Burger King or Starbucks, anything that isn't coated really. I have that hygrometerWith all due respect to my esteemed colleagues, don’t try paper bags on your first dry. You have neither the feel nor experience to trust your judgement. Be scientific and get a scale and a big drink cup. If you can’t get 60°F at 60% humidity it’s ok, just stop drying when they stop losing weight, could be 5 days, could be 7 or 8 but there is no guessing when to jar them.View attachment 1280036 when you use a scale.View attachment 1280035View attachment 1280037

But, there hasn't been much color changes except for the pistols, which are still a brownish/reddish/purple.
Been using just room temperature distilled water the last week, so experimenting withwater
Hopefully cool nights (60-65°) WITH cold waterwill help bring out the Anthocyanins and Purple
I'm not sure about that.Ice cubes next....
I'm not sure about that.

You need strong temperature fluctuations between the nights and days. 20 degrees plus. Hot days and cold chilly nights bring out the purple color. If you want to bring out the colors you should lower your A/C during the day so it gets a bit warmer then at night crank your A/C and put a pile of ice-cubes on top of your pot. over the night the ice cold water trickles into the soil and chills the roots. Keep repeating this process once you are close to flush. Hot day followed by chilly iced out night and it should help. There is no additive or special fertilizer that will bring purple out that is entirely genetic and its triggered by temperature the most.
