Is anyone familiar with this led light?

Spider Farmer SF-4000

Is it worth the price or is there a better option?

Thinking about buying a qb for my 32x32 veg tent, think a single qb in 4K will be good?

That might be a bit much. I would want about 150-175 watts of LED in that kind of space for veg. Typically I would say 100 watts works for start to finish in a 2x2 area. You are just shy of 3x3 so only a bit more power is necessary; in my opinion.

In a 4x2 I would use a double board setup. 240w. 2 singles would be a giant pain.

This is exactly what I have in my 2x4 tent and it does great. I would like to be running about 300 watts in there though, I think I could increase my yields by the same percentage as the light increase.

Personally, I opt for more smaller boards to make the adjustment for different height canopy(s) easier. (rather than a larger light)
ie: I run 2x Kingbrite 240's in a 3x3 instead of one of their 480's.
it is easier for me to move a light up or down then to move the plant.
The added advantage for only a few dollars more, is that if a light goes out..you have a spare to keep things happy until repairs are made. With a single large light..Bleh!

I also would overpower, since they (Kingbrite) come with a dimmer and to get the watts wanted..just add a $20 kill-o-watt or the like.

I'm looking in to exactly that. 1 240w is good, but I feel 2 would be much better. I'm about to order my second unit lol.

Forgot to add..There is a Unit Farm high end Burple with Cree and Oshram diodes smack dab in the middle of the Kingbrites (got it free for testing and decided to keep it, when I purged the Burples in favor of white light).
That is another 175 watts in the 3x3!

Sup guys. I have a plan for a build I'd like you to check out. I'm gonna build some quantum 120's. I want each one to be a stand alone unit for more flexibility in usage.
I broke it down and each light will cost .45 with tax. Here are the parts. Any advice is welcome.

I'm not 100% sure about the dimmers, but after some research I'm gonna give it a try.
I got this info from this page:

How To Choose an LED Power Supply - LEDSupply Blog

There are many factors to consider when choosing a power supply for LEDs. This post will go through these and help you select the right LED Power Supply.

PWM Dimming: Also known as pulse-width modulation dimming, can be used on all power supplies. Even the power supplies on our site that don’t say ‘dimmable’ right in the specs can be dimmed through wall mounted or remote PWM dimmers. This is because PWM dimmers go in-line with the strip lights, dimming on the 12VDC side of the circuit. PWM dimmers actually pulse the lights at high frequencies to change the perception of light to the naked eye. The higher the frequency, the brighter they will be

For a purely flowering range the 3k is probably better but for an all around light the 3500K would be best.

I ran 280 watts in a 2x4 then increased it to 520 and I do know yield improved, but not sure how much yet? No ir or uv until next time

Where I was going is I think I got a little to much? But I’m still given it a go.

The only quantum board I have tried is the sf 1000 and sf 2000 by Spider Farmer. They are really amazing. The node distance is half of what it was under MH/HPS. The watts were 100 pulled from the wall in the sf1000, and 210 from the sf2000.

One cool thing, you can take the ballast off the back and there is a little rubber plug. Remove that, and there is a potentiometer underneath...two pots on the sf2000.

I managed to turn up the watts to 135 on the sf1000 and a full 305 on the sf2000.

Very nice, white light, reasonable heat, and the plants are loving it.

If you scroll down a little on this link it shows all recommended driver options. I think this is the most powerfull at 2500ma. The board is 2800 max. (single board options) I want to use a separate driver for each board. Each board will be a stand alone light.
