If you follow his instructions to a T, the oil is crap and i wouldn't bother...Napthane leaves a serious residual smell and taste and i have tried all kinds of vapping off and whipping processes to fix it and it just doesn't go away..Acetone actually works better and it sucks..

Chloroform, ether, 100% ISO, or a high end food grade Hexane works the best hands down.

If your doin this for the first time, be very very very careful and have someone around in case somethng goes seriously wrong...I have screwed up a few times making stoned ass mistakes and oversites and have almost blown myself up and/or set myself on fire a couple of times and one time I actually did catch myself on fire so be super super carefull this stuff is no joke and the flame is virtually invsible and the oil will make it stick to you as it burns off..fuckin hurts

What temperature are you slow boiling at?

UV light destroys cannabinoids, so I recommend keeping it out of the sun.

If you are going to eat it, I recommend decarboxylating it first, and that will eliminate any questions about residual butane. Stick a container of the oil in a 250F hot oil bath as soon as the butane stops bubbling from the hot water bath. It doesn't look like I have a thread posted on the subject, so I will.

And then no need for the vacuum purge? And, of course, then you could dose it for cancer patients? (all theoretical of course...)

ps - W/ ISO, is there an advantage over butane? I started to re-read this whole post, and I'm a little confused on what's best. Butane seems to work great...w/a good, long, heated vacuum purge. Texas (?) w/all those bottles of oil, and it looked like he was doing his purging on an electric stove, looked great, but now I don't know what to think...

Maybe you could dry up the 99% iso with a drying agent yourself otherwise you'd have to order that online and it will just absorb moisture from the air once opened anyway though I'm not sure how much or if at all.

We purged and decarboxylated in a 250F oil pot, long before we started using vaccum purges, and none of the test panels ever detected any residual solvent. We have also supplied a boat load of oil to cancer patients using that method, so its not theoretical anymore.

We like butane over ISO for extraction, because it is non polar and easier to get a pristine extraction with and purge afterwards for most people. ISO can make a pristine extraction, but details and control are far more critical, due to it being a polar solvent.

Our test panels rated QWET and QWISO as more flavorful than butane extraction, because it extracts and retains more floral overtones, while the non polar butane extraction overtones are hashy, with floral undertones.

Both seem to work well.

Gentleman.... I ran into these oil/bho pre filled tanks for "vaporcone" set up a basic ecig battery. That was in cali.dispensery. Unfortunately there was not specific info on whats in it(other than the strain alien og) which troubles me, but WOW impressive. Im not in cali, but wanna know if anyone else has any info. I believe they call them tanka pre fills.
I would love to hear its clean andkosher for medical use, and tons of you guys have tried it..And of course how can I make it. thanks in advance

about to make my first batch of RSO. got the rice cooker but always was thinking there has to be a better way to make the batch's. TK's chemist thingy looks about right lol anyone have a link or a name to the best way of making the RSO using laboratory grade equipment?

Pressure cooker and a still/condesor coil works good for me....lab grade glass is easy to come by but the batch sizes are restrictive cuz the big gear is kid of expensive, rotating beaker arm, temp controlled water bath, condensor coil, etc..you could even use an oil seperator flask setup

A gram is just slightly less than 1ml.

i'm not a scientist but i thought that 1 ml of water = 1 gram, i was also under the impresssion that oil floats on water doesn't it mean it's less dense? i was hooking some ppl up thinking 1 ml was slightly less than a gram, i just he got hooked up.

my friend accidentally washed a tin with 2 ml or so oil and some of the oil floated and some sank : P

i didn't google anything that i wrote so it's probably all wrong anyways

I just want to say this stuff really works. I distill with a rice cooker. I use 91% alcohol and it boils down very safely. After successfully treating a melanoma on myself we have also completely removed some similar growth's on our dog.:)

2 Different kinda oils.. :P High fat oils will float.. low fat oils will sink.. its the fat that makes the difference.. same with yer turds :D

If you watch the vid it calls for bud. I think you'd have to use a shit load of trim to get anything. He uses a pound of bud to get a small amount of oil

The first time I made this I used trim. Works great.
