Closer look at one of her main tops

Oh, and her smell has turned amazingly sweet, I love it! Still skunky but definitely super sweet.

Also, rando bag see is about to sprout, I can see it poking through to top of the soil! So I'll probably start a 2nd grow diary for that one in a week or two.

Lower tops are starting to really come in, and main tops are beginning to stack. Overall canopy is looking good too, But I'll probably do a light defoliation tomorrow.

In other news, our new friend just popped! So looks like a new adventure has begun. Fingers crossed it ends up being female

Question - So when should I plan to begin flushing her? She'll be 6 weeks old on Wednesday, and typically harvests within 8-9 weeks. I see a lot of conflicting info varying from a week, to 2 weeks to 2.5 weeks before harvest. What are the pros and cons of flushing earlier vs later? I know it helps with smoothness, taste, ect. But I also assume flushing to early could greatly affect yields.

I was originally thinking when I water today or tomorrow, that it may be my last day of nutrients, or should I give it another week or so?

Also just another pic I took a few min ago while checking on the tent

Also, should I clip the big fan leaves at the bottom or keep them? Only reason I kept them is because they're healthy and not blocking any bud sites. I figured the big leaves help gather more light for the branches they're connected to. Am I right in this logic? Or is keeping them wasting energy that could go towards the bud sites instead?

Also just watered an hour or so ago, so she should really be perked up tomorrow! I'll snag some updated pics in the afternoon.

Welp, looks like her flowering stretch has begun. Starting to get some good vertical growth on the tops now. I moved her slightly closer to the light last night (around 750-800ppfd) and she's loving it. Plan to get her canopy to 900ppfd and maintain that moving forward.

She's small but mighty! Can't wait to see those tops really develop.

I’m in till the end! And maybe the next one too

Always fun watching those buds grow

I just added time lapse cameras to both tents just been messing around with them this grow learning them but we’ll see if I can do a full grow time lapse some day lol

Hope to make ya proud haha but yeah we'll see about the other one. It's cotyledons seem almost stuck. But I'll just leave it be and hope for the best

Oh wow that's awesome! Seed to harvest time lapses are some of my favorite bud related content to watch on YT. I'm excited to see how it ends up workin out for you. I'll definitely be tuning in

still this is bro science about smoothness, taste but i dont want to start that debate on your thread
true too early will affect yield
why do you feel the need to flush and not just lower amount of nitrogen you give them, not to nothing just less

Plant looks great, bro! Well done with the LST. My first grow was with autos, and it's definitely fun to see them develop so quickly. Please continue to post pics! I'd love to see her on the day you decide to chop - she's gonna be frosty!

Haha fair enough wasn't sure how much actual science there is to flushing before harvest. But that makes sense with nitrogen. The nutrient blend I use is a cheap 3-part ph balance blend, so can't really mess with each of the levels too much. Would you recommend slowly lowering the overall concentration? Currently using 12mg/l (4mg/l each), but can begin lowering each by 1mg/l each week. Thoughts?

Hey I think they're both exciting in their own ways haha but honestly don't have any specific that I follow. The time lapses are mainly just satisfying haha but I also just love perusing and seeing all the different methods people like to use. Hbu, got any specific channels you follow?

Thanks for stopping in! Appreciate it, I was a little leary with how much I wanted to LST but I'm happy with how it turned out. Definitely learned a lot for future grows too!

And I'll definitely keep the pictures coming! I love staring at her haha so might as well share!

Definitely getting excited for harvest, gonna be here before we know it. So I know she's gonna be pumping out some trichomes soon

forget you are using these nutrients, Advanced Nutrients pH Perfect Blend. from what i know about deadrients, sorry hydro nutrients is that you need to flush the salt build up out. never grown with hydro nutes so cant help with this one
edit: the feeding chart recommended flushing week 8

Yeah I messed up and got this lol but it does state that it can be used in soil as well. She's obviously been reacting to it pretty well. But yeah flushing out the salt build up was another reason I saw. No worries though, appreciate any input haha but after this next run I'll be ordering some fresh nutrients that's actually made for soil lol

flushing the salts are super important if you want to reuse that soil for another run.
you can reuse and order some amendment product to mix it with to create a good soil that wont need nutes for week
will you be doing auto again next run if you rebuild your soil you can actually grow with very little amendments but i takes time to get into organics

example of amendment product that work very well for cannabis

Elemental Earth Blend - 10L - Marijuana SA

Organic Living Soil booster. Cannabis Specific South African brand. Scientifically formulated. pH neutral cannabis substrate.

I'm not necessarily worried about reusing the soil this time around. Would there be much of a benefit to it? But aside from that, as I get better nutrient blends/soil mixtures I could definitely see the benefit in saving those important microbes from previous soil.

So the random bag seed, I assume would be a photo. So we'll see what happens with that. I'm going to use the same method this time around (except flipping light schedule to 12/12 for round 2) because I don't have a substantial amount of time to put into upgrades. But starting in the summer, I'm either going to do another few autos or I may dabble in a scrog. I feel like I probably could've scroggeg my current girl. But anyways, for the summer I'll be getting a lot more involved in my whole setup. Right now things are just a bit thrown together

I'm about to crash though. I'll post some updates in the morning

You are correct leaves are for photosynthesis energy so removing healthy ones that aren’t actively blocking bud sites is probably going to be a plant stressor.
