Man this gives me a lot to think about lol

This may be a dumb question, but how do you go about calculating total npk of your topdressing? So for example, ideally you said I'd want around 3-5-2 during veg. So you add your mixture of worm castings, neem oil, pulverized basalt, bakashi bran, etc, then how are you calculating your total npk?
The composted fertilizer I use from build a soil that’s where those numbers come from. Basalt is mainly micronutrients no NPK alteration. The bran breaks that crap down fast normally you top dress weeks before hand so it has time to break down and feed the soil and you don’t miss feeding time but the bran it only takes 2-3 days and leaves thick white mycelium all over the soil surface indicating fungal fermentation very good for cannabis

Okay that makes a little more sense. I definitely want to learn more about more advanced nutrients, because I feel like that's a big difference maker in yields.

I think for this grow, I'm gonna keep things pretty simple. Haven't noticed any major deficiencies, so just gonna keep her happy. But I want to get a little more involved with more nutrients and better environmental control next grow.

Just wanted to throw some new pics up here.

Aside from the initial bend, not really much to LST right now. Been tucking some leaves to try and get the little leaves some more light.

The smell coming off her already is amazing!!

lots of phosphorous here?
not much nitrogen for vegging either
Science say extra phosphorous stimulates microbial activity in soil therefore enhancing nutrient uptake so I’m not surprised the N values would be a little lower since increased uptake of nutrients would cause a burn. I have not seen any yellow growth or abnormal development since top dressing everything 1/4 strength 4 weeks ago. I think the opposite of this formula is like
7-3-1that’s DTE bat guano and also worked wonders for me in past ;)

Just a daily upload.

She's really starting to fill in nicely! Next watering is tomorrow, going to give her just some fresh water before next feeding. I'll be upping nutrients to 3ml/l each (9ml/l total) most likely on Tuesday or Wednesday (which is the beginning of week 5!)

Also checked on ppfd and top of the canopy is sitting around 650-675 now.

Flipped the bloom lights off to get a better pic. Her canopy is filling in really nicely! Still a bit of twisting in the leaves, but overall seems like healthy growth. Just gave her some plain water today to prep for her next feeding this week.

Happy New Year all! Happy growing in 2023!!

What are temps and humidity. I think consistent low humidity, 40RH and lower, can cause lead twisting like that but I’m not too sure. Growth does look green and healthy though!

RH has been my bane this entire grow. I've struggled to get it higher than 38%. So that would definitely make sense with the twisting. Temps are consistent 71-79

Also with the new growth, ppfd is sitting around 730. Should I lower the plant a bit or is that an okay increase to prepare for the 900 needed during flower?

This is where plant training can be beneficial.. having an even canopy you will get the most out of PPFD. Instead of lowering plant or moving the light I would try to manipulate the branches to the same height something like a mainline.

Yeah I plan to, but the issue is I don't really have much to tie down. She's bushy but not really stretched a ton, so not really sure how to LST without too much stress.

Also broke down and just picked up an actual humidifier. So I should be getting my RH numbers up shortly!

Could just be the genetics. Some of my favorite strains veg slow as shit or grow into short trees with no side branching lmao it’s like the plant God playing with us sometimes.

It's interesting, because the one I grew from this pack of seeds 6 years ago was really lanky. Starting to wonder if genetics got mixed up 🤔 lol either way, I think she's gonna be a bushy little beast!

I wouldn’t top an autoflower but a normal plant can be topped to slow apical growth down allowing the sides to catch up naturally if you can’t tie down ;)
I accidentally FIMd a Gas Reaper Genetics Roadkill auto last year out of 5 plants and that one turned out the craziest A+

I thought about topping it but since I'm just kinda getting back into the swing of things, didn't want to FIM it too much 😂 I originally chose an auto for ease, but I think I'm may do a photo next so that I can really get into some cool training techniques

I really think that is a big misconception now that I have been growing for 10 years now I started with a fast version seed because they were just getting popular along with autos and were marketed as easier lol maybe for some but I think photos are definitely beginner friendly and ultimately more friendly than autos or fast.

Yeah the more research I've done and the more grows I read about/watch, I definitely see photos being overall better. Only downside is really the length of the grow and in turn more care, but I feel like there's less room for error with the fast/autos.

What's up guys? Missed posting yesterday, but wanted to give a few updates. Posting some updated top canopy and side/underside pics.

Looks like she may need a drink either later tonight or tomorrow. Nutrients will be increase from 2ml/l each to 3ml/l each (9ml/l total).

New growth looks fantastic! Got my RH up to around 45-60%, which she's loving. Also looks like there may be 3 main tops coming in!

Let me know if you guys see anything I'm not!
