you will pull more weight if you use hid though, just saying. side by side the 300w models of my led vs mars grows 2 ozs more and still my plants responded like crazy to the HID, even though they were getting blasted with led spectrum. didnt make my tent unmanageable in the heat and RH aspect. LED doesnt have it yet by itself unless you are going COB or at least 5 watt diode arrays.

4 mars 300s are 250 bucks,
a 600W cool tube setup is 166 dollars with tube , ballast that dims, timer, hangars and a MH and HPS bulb.
total *410* bucks... sorry

will kick the SHIT out of 2 mars 900s. @ 670 bucks technically speaking both setups are and "equivalent to" "1800W" of conventional lighting and I'm trying to refrain from putting any company down by saying this, but 3w leds dont have the intensity you need, I know this because I'm using the most expensive 3w diode array out there... if you are going to drop that cash on only led you will be not as happy as going the cheaper route I'm learning this myself with my grow right now.

I appreciate all of your information. It's my understanding that the mars11 900 watts are 5 watts and not 3

Hello Cali Ray I also have the mars ll but mine are the 400s but yes they are 5w. Here is a method to know how many square feet of watts you have for LED it was give to me by a few different LED growers I think the 900 has a true 420 watts take the amount of true watts of lights which I think I read 2 which would be 840 true watts and dived that by your areas square footage which you said was 6x5=30sqft so 840÷30=28 watts per sqft so you are shy from your goal of 40-50 watts with 2 mars ll 900s.

Thanks alot. So, I'll go with (2) of the 1200 watts then.

The 1200 is a true 550 watts so total 1,100 true watts so 1100÷30=36.6watts per sqft still shy of your goal but it's enough to grow with for sure.

That's the same amount of watts per sqft that I'm using in my 2 grow areas 35-36watts and so far everything is going well!

ouch, then the 5W epistars they use in the mars are worse than the 3w bridgelux that my led uses, here is a par test where the p450beats it @ 1335 ( thats 2x the par @252W) using 3W diodes a beats a mars 2 700 @ 705 @289W so I guess when I said 5W I really meant bridgelux or better. keep in mind I have a p600 which is the next higher up platinum model and my plants still had a noticable response to the hid. with that said, please reconsider.
my reasoning made you up your anty to 1200W opposite of where I was trying to get you lol. so let me repeat.
Please dont buy 2 1200 models. Dont buy platinum led, buy hid and supplement with your mars LEDs.
and by doing this im still not tying to push my led on you. dont get sucked into marketing . buy hid and supplement. unless you live in the desert and its a contstant 85 degrees where you live. period.

Well I'm using 1 of the 400s in the 27in x 27in tent and I'm using the other 400 and 2 marshydro 300 in the 3ftx9inx 3ft 9in tent the 30s are the 3 watt not 5 like mars ll

As I mentioned before, I was trying to get 40 to 50 watts per square feet. Well, then if you're getting 35-36 watts per square feet and things are going ok. My (2) 900 watts in a 6×5 or 6×4 should do just fine?? Plus, I'll be going my plants in a scrog.

I would think so you can always add if you needed but you should be fine
