Hey Everyone

Just need a little help with my new ballast,
I've always used to magnetic ones and i just got this digital one and had to switch the socket to it, So i open the metal box and theres
a black wire and a white wire
But on the ballast end theres black white and green?
whats this green one? and what do i connect it to?

I know its a brutally stupid question but i dont wanna get electricuted, and i searched before i made a thread.
Thanks

hey bro, be real careful with electricals.

anyhow, the green is the ground, splice black to black,
white to white and wrap the green wire around a metal screw.

just so you know though, i've never owned a digital ballast,
i just know a little wirin' n' sech, lol.

here's a wiring diagram that might help you understand the basics.

that's a diagram for adding a capacitor to the circuit but
you get the idea. ...i hope, lol.

if this doesn't help you, just wait a bit, i'm sure someone
else more experienced with digital ballasts will happen along directly, lol.

I agree, green is ground.
Hook it up and there will be light.

DONE!

the green wire didnt have the round piece on the end as it does in the diagram, so i just coiled it around the screw at the base of the socket.
Thanks alot

That sounds wrong to me. I'm pretty sure you want to ground it on the ballast case. Mine are aluminum and rigged as such. If you can't find the right spot, you should at least run a self-tapping screw through the case.
