to an extent. High intensity (hps) requires around double the strength nutes for t5's> I will agree that VPD and other things have input but the number one variable is food, and the number one limiting factor is calcium

Speaking of Blumats....have you had any issues with them getting stuck on? Or not coming on? I had a few instances on my last run but so far so good on this run.

I've always run in Coco and up until this run I have used Great White or Mychos. This run I switched it up and I'm using Caps benes and I gotta say that so far....my girls are LOVING it.

Great thread....even with the bit of drama. Information is what this site is all about and I can say that I have learned more here in the last few years than I would have had I just listened to my buddies who grow.

I have had that issue but it was before I knew how wet to keep them, and it can still be a little tricky getting blumats dialed in, but once they are its pretty much a breeze as long as you keep that rez full.

Thanks for the reply and I'm glad we could enhance our growing knowledge.

nice thread

starting a small coco grow as we speak using %100 canna coco , coco a+b and the whole line up. 600w lights with co2. was expecting to just follow the feed chart for with eyes open for burning tips. my tap is 150ppm so if anything i would use about 1 ml calmag+ , when and if i were to use my R/O i was gona go with 3ml/gal calmag (150ppm)as my starting water. ph 5.5 to 6.0... veg closer to 6.0ph and flower closer to 5.5ph. plan to feed every time i water with %20-%30 runoff every time. possibly folliar b-52 in veg, and nivana, and fulvic at times during flower.

a few buddies of mine claim to have followed the chart with no issues for years now with multiple different strains. they claim its fool proof.

Any one that could help me out i would appreciate it!
Any advice or pointers based on what my plan is so far would be great

hey just finished reading all this very interesting discussion here, learned lots of new things thanks... my question is with your whole less is more(ppm when feeding) system how often do you feed everyday?, water one day feed the next, water once a week, feed once a week? this might have been covered if so i missed it.... thanks

for canna coco i do a feed, feed, light feed schedule. i read somewhere on the cannatalk that their coco is prebuffered so if you do a straight flush with no nutes you would get lock outs. not sure if its true but i feed everytime and havent had any problems. i ph at 5.5 as well

Most experienced coco growers will tell you to never use plain h2o with coco. Just use a diluted feeding instead of plain h20 when needed, maybe once a week or so, but I'm not sure how often.

Very good info here dwd I'm just starting out with canna coco I've got a&b and plant magic magnecal+ cuttings are rooted and now in 15 litre pots under cfl and led for veg what would you recommend me to feed them for veg I've burnt the hell out of them as well so looking at your info earlier I was thinking 5 ml each a+b and 3 ml magnecal+ per gal hand watered how much run off do you think you can get away with I hate pouring money down the drain

Still running just a+ b and monopotassium phosphate in plain ol tap water.

500 ppm is completely adequate for veg and flower.

When water automation is setup to automatically water to 20% runoff every day at the same time 500 ppm with 1 solid watering a day is plenty.

My plants in coco need more. I dont know I was trying the low ppm approach but it was nt working for me. Dropped the calimagic and ramped up my base and blammo plants are mental happy
On a side note the plants in the UC havent been higher than 450 ppm 3 weeks in

Check em out bro

Good day

BudGoggles, how high is the EC for the coco plants??

I'm giving mine about 1.1 EC and there only a few weeks into veg.

Question, say if my 5 gal coco pots take 3-4 day between water/feedings. Would the light feeding approach apply or is a tad higher strength recommended. 1.0 Ec vs 1.5+Ec. Thanks for any input!

IMO keep it low at 1st to see how your plants react. If you give them too much they will use more water then nutrients and after 3-4 days the EC in your medium could be really high. Also, you want 20-25% run-off to help lower the EC that built up.

Maybe I'm over thinking this but
If nute concentration or ppm is relative to how often you feed and how much run off allowed, how did you nail down 150?ppm of Ca? Wouldn't less Ca be required if watering more often and more required if watering less often? And if that is the case doesn't it become more of a ratio thing then a total dissolved solids thing?
