I was contemplating getting a Phantom CMH setup but the 3100k is what interested me
do you guys think the 4200k will still be alright for flowing, or growing straight threw

I only use the 4200k. I notice my plants are happier with the 4200k than the 3100k.

I use sun system. The phantom looks good. The price is better with the phantom.

and it has 6" ports for airflow
meaning I could hook it up as the fixture's hood is the start of the Exhaust system

How much heat comes off your sunsystem in that enclosed hood?

The 315w cmh doesn't need to be air cooled. It's already cool. The Sun System Lec 315w bulb mounts vertical.

ok.... this will be my first complete set up

I will still need ventilation and airflow correct
but with cmh I would be able to vent my 4x4 tent into my living space rather then having to vent a hps outside

Yes you can vent inside if you can control the temperature and humidity inside your living space. Yes you need air circulation inside the tent. 2 315w cmh lights runs about 10 degrees cooler than an 600wHPS in a tent.

ok so both fixtures are vertically hung
both are available at 120v

now the phantom has reflective European hammer tone all threw the hood
While sun system has the hammer tone only in the corners


both are regularly the same price, but the phantom is on sale right now


doesn't this make the phantom the better setup, better reflectivity?
am I missing something as a complete newbie?

I've read a thread on here were a guy did a comparison between the phantom and the boulder light,the phantom ballast went off after 10 mins and never came back on.hope this is a one off,but they seemed to mess him around a bit too,trying to swap it for a new one.I really like the ducting kit for the phantom set too.have you seen the sunplix all in one remote ,dimmable light fixtures?really cool for the dough.if they shipped here id be on it.

must add,its the only time I have heard anything like this.i do know those omega cmh 315 ballasts are shite.even the local grow shop told me to avoid that one.hope this helps.
