Terps House

These are all 100% sealed rooms so if I didn't run co2 with fixing some sort of air exchange I think I would yeild hardly nothing no air no growth

Yes I understand your a sealed environment I ment if you was non sealed exchanging the air do you think your yield would be a lot less
I only ask because some ppl swear by co2 an others say it doesn't make such a difference I just wondered your opinion

It can and it can't. Law of limiting factors says you can't only hold as much as your weakest link. So if everything else is in check yes it will make a difference but it's so hard to repeat variables in nature veg time branch count bulb effiency ect ect that I can't give you an honest answer. I'm not planing on exchanging air anytime soon. But at the same time I wouldn't expect to change the game by adding or subtracting co2 to any given room.

@Spectre i like the profile you shared on the other thread if you wish to share more I am interest in any info your willing to share. I'm not sure if you've seen it but I ordered all the salts and was planning on copying @nMEEKS formula. I've never mixed salts so this is all new and a little nervous exciting for me.
I run four dosatrons so I want to run agisil in the first cal nitrate in the second and pretty much the rest in the third does that sound acceptable to you?

How many ppms of si are you planning to run? I've been doing around 25 start to finish and it appears to be effective.

Sup Terps. I'd be glad to help you out in any way that I can.

I'm actually going to install some dosatrons myself in the near future. Right now I'm just mixing salts into my main rez.

Yeah that sounds about right but I'd go silicate first, phosphates/sulfates second, and calnit last. Micros go in with CalNit as well.

Ah micros with cal nitrate see this is the kinda info I like! Thanks @Spectre ill bug you with a bunch more questions once they arrive until then I'd probably just smoke the info right out of my head if I get to far in the future. Ya @Savage Henry i was going to start around 17-20 and probably max at 30 in my playing around.

So I got a new Fujitsu 3 ton mini split installed today and finally have my lights turned up and the room temps down so hopefully I can get this spot back on track. As you can see the plants got pretty stressed out

Nice work, are you collecting and reusing the ac condensate?

No it drains out of the shop through the gutter the tables drain into. This place gets water via the main house supply. I only use a tank to brew tea in and the veg room uses about 5-7 gals a day so I don't really worry about collecting water.

Word, I forgot you were using injectors for the flower rooms. I've considered collecting and using condensate myself but I feel it should probably be santized first, and the devices that do that are costly.

Agreed if I had a warehouse and stock tanks and space and money I would definitely go that route

Sounds good! Don't be scared of salts! If you are making concentrate tanks for dosatron delivery, I recommend dissolving the full amount of salts needed for the big tank into a smaller more shakeable container to begin with, so you dont have salt on the bottom of a big tank that's tough to mix. Essentially, I recommend making your own liquid nutrient bottles from the salts, then pouring that into your tanks with added water to reach the needed volume for the dostrons siphon rate.

I would avoid mixing micros in with the CalNit in a concentrate tank, it will be fine at the levels needed for plant delivery, but in higher concentration tanks for siphon mixing I would recommend keeping the calnit as its own tank, it doesnt play as well with others (as seen in the chart you posted).

Do you think the reduced solubility is something to worry about? I agree about keeping them separate if possible but he said he's only using 3 dosers plus one for pH. Would you increase the concentration of micros to make up for it? I'd think with chelated micros it'd be fine, but I'd like your opinion as well.

Also, you mentioned making a concentrate bottle and then pouring that into a main tank? Wouldn't he just siphon straight from the concentrate bottles w/ the dosers?

If I may chime in, some salts are difficult to get fully dissolved, especially in large quantities in a large resevoir or stock tank. In practice I've come to mix them in the amount bound for a larger volume of water in 2-3 gals of water (0.0ec). You get a paint stirrer and attach it to a drill and whip em in the small container until dissolved, then pour it into the final volume.

But, as I said, some are more difficult than others. Calnit dissolves super easy whereas k2so4 is a bitch. There's a chart floating around somewhere (maybe science in hydroponics) that outlines maximum solubility of salts.

He was saying if mixing concentrate mix magnesium in one ltr and one ltr of potassium sulfate and mix them separately and combined once mixed separately

I was planning on mixing 4 gals at a time using 5 gal buckets with a lid and water pump. Once mixed and placed under the dosers each bucket will have the little water pump in them to turn on for a minute or two right before the watering cycle begins also to keep everything stirred up before every watering
