Finished filling the pool last night at sunset.Covered now as thunderstorms coming next couple days.Hopefully get to test it out this weekend. :)

@caregiverken I just watched Trailer Park Boys for the first time last night, and all of a sudden your avatar made a whole lot more sense... :-D I got lauded by my friends over the border for admitting it, that shit is hilarious, btw. Will be absorbing much more in the near future!

Howdy farm! Have I got one for ya's today... Started last night, whilst in a slightly drunken stupor, I had decided to go up to the attic to retrieve a vintage Dream Phone gameset, (like I said, I was drunk), and little did I know I was stumbling upon a murder crime scene. A squirrel (which was not there earlier in the day) was laying dead, direct in my footpath, and I didn't see it as much as feel it... Anywho, another squirrel immediately came running out chirping at me! Fast forward to this morn, when I decided to return for that damn Dream Phone game for my ol' lady and check on the deceased. Well apparently it was a zombie Tennessee squirrel that got at it, as the whole body is still intact EXCEPT FOR THE BRAIN. Apparently, grey squirrels are known to be cannibalistic, but why just the brain? I have a picture, but just can't upload anything with this phone. I'll post it when I can :-)

WHEW. Time for coffee.

I knew squirrels were cannibals, but I thought they killed young squirrels. The brain is where all the good fat is.

I remember when I was staying at the Motel 6 in El Cajon YEARS ago. Getting stuff packed up to check out and I'm walking around the bed when suddenly I feel an odd crunch under my foot.

I'd stepped on and crushed a mouse.

Who do ya think got comped a night?

That's gnarly SM! Only one night? You shoulda wrote corporate and got a jacuzzi suite for a weekend! :-) I grew up in the Adirondacks and never did I see an instance of squirrel cannibalism, course they had quite a bit of acreage to hide in ;-) I did a quick bury in the backyard and tossed some loose nuts in with him that were kickin around the yard, free fertillizer! (Although I have no intentions of using "squirtilizer" for anything consumable.)

What made the whole event significantly better was that when I checked in I found out I was graduating Magna Cum Laude. So that made my weekend. I guess all the long hours of studying really did pay off.

Another great day in store on farm. have a cute smart intern who helps after her job is done and her BF is here as well to help out, 11 kid goats so far more today for sure....
Gardens kicking ass all is as good as it gets...

Well... looks like I kinda over-did it for this season and have created a situation that's going to mean more, not less work.

See, back in February I started a bunch of seeds, quite a lot more than I usually do, but I'd bought a bunch at the Emerald Cup, bought some stuff from the Bay I was excited about, had some testers that I felt I should get on top of, and then Dave told me no pussies, so I jumped in and popped a lot.

But I also fucked up. I had him get me an acid-loving soil instead of a basic potting soil, and the seeds popped, then turned pink and white. It was a bad time of year to fuck up like that because I was away from home quite a bit. By April I figured that my several hundred dollars' worth of genetics were all goners--they were still white, weren't growing at all and were autoflowering on me.

I checked all kinds of things thinking it was pests or disease or bad water. And, thinking I was going to lose everything, I discussed the situation with my dear husband and he advised not waiting to figure out what was going to happen--MAKE my season happen. So! I popped yet more beans, and made some clones of a cut I got last year from brother Loran.

In the meantime, I was not about to just let all those genetics go, so I figured that a last ditch effort had to be made. I got the best potting soil I could find and transplanted all the girls (cuz remember, they autoed on me).

Turns out I should have done that from the get-go. They have EXPLODED. Some of them look a little fucked up, as in re-veg looking, twisted, contorted, just all kinds of bad pH ju-ju. But mostly they've fucking exploded. And in the meantime from that, I was gifted some more plants by the very kind heart we know as brother Loran.

I took a count yesterday. I have several dozen plants going. The most I've ever done for one season is 36, and I have almost double that number. I need a high tunnel or greenhouse like nobody's business! I can't believe I ended up with this many girls, I can't believe the turn-around of the seedlings, I can't believe I did this to myself.

65 plants. Holy fuck, that tree is eating the sky.
