Come over this way FW. Can't even plant tomatoes at my cabin as it is still getting frost early in the morning. Its at 8,000 feet and the dry fly fishing is just now really starting to heat up. No pun intended. Hotter than hell here in Denver, 92 right now, but I can still go to the mountains and cool off.
We have had a cool, wet spring and so far this summer. Can't believe you are in a severe drought. WTF is going on with the weather in this country anyway??? To the east they are dodging tornadoes and severe weather almost daily and you are living with wild fires. Thinking there just might be something to this global warming bullshit.
Been trimming all morning...done now time to party.

G'Evening, y'all. New hubs are installed. Took old bearing buddy's cleaned them up and put them on new hubs. Waiting on new wheels & tires to arrive. Daffynition of boat....whole in the water you pour $$$ into. :D With luck we will get new to us boat out while trout & red fish are still active on the flats.

Boats are expensive but so much fun. I miss those early mornings idling the channel to the river then up to Pine Island Sound. Throwing the net for bait while the sun comes up. Cant wait to take my boy back down there and catch some reds and trout!

G'Afternoon, y'all! This is my second boat my fishing partner & I are doing. Our first a bass-boat that we used for the flats, smoked the motor. We got the second boat, motor & trailer for about 1/2 of what a newer motor for bass-boat was going to cost. Another real plus is it's an airboat hull being pushed by a 25hp tiller. Yea if it's choppy we will not be going out but plenty of room to fish with this airboat hull.

I used to love going boating. Been many years. Had a little 1969 16' Chrysler Hydro-vee, used to take it out on San Diego Bay to go fishing overnight. Or out to Glorietta Beach on Coronado Island for the July 4th festivities. I do miss it.

Never been a boat guy myself. I like wandering the rivers. I have this insatiable urge to see what is beyond the next bend. Also love backpacking.....know its not good for you but I like the high that comes on with low oxygen and hiking above 10,000 feet.
This is Elk Mountain which is about 10 miles to the North of my cabin. Haven't been there this summer as I have other hills to climb.

Good Sunday farmers!! I had such a great time at my sisters baby shower yesterday. Cook out on the lake with a live band. Im not much for country music but I love bluegrass/folk music. Used to go to festivals every summer when I was younger so it brought back a ton of memories. Saw people I havent seen in over 25 yrs. Dammit this is gettin me all teary eyed. Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

I cant remember too many times in my life i havent owned boats, everything from a folding porta bote/5hp (which i still own and use in the sierras) to twin diesel sportfishing boats. Its not the boat for me its just being on the water. The ocean and the woods/mountains are my church and where i feel the happiest. Some people golf or bowl or play baseball,I fish, spearfish, hike, hunt, camp, the less people the better.Thats whats nice about boats, they seperate you from the crowd.

Well if you live in Colo there is no real lakes for boats. Sure you can run over to Chatfield Res which is about 5 miles from the house but thats not boating. Ten thousand boats in a small res??? Ah no!! Boating in this state does not separate you from the crowd...its more like rush hour. Plus there are so many water cops if you piss over the side they come running and do a sobriety test on you. The mountains are my church. If you know the spots you can still get away from the rat race.
@ Prime C. IMHO there are only two types of music.....country and western. Two each his own. Loved rock growing up but what they call rock today isn't rock. Give me some Led Zep, Stones, Who or a little Ten Years After. I would listen to that. Until then I will stay with "Spit in the fire and slap the dog" kind of music.
Rained like cats and dogs here last night. Got almost an inch in about 2 hrs. Thats a lot for here. Supposed to get it again. I'll take it...free water. My monthly water bill last month was over $100!! At least we have it this year.
Lights are coming on in 10 minutes....time to check things out. Later
