Hey folks, it's time to start planning.
So far, we have a target date: May 31, 2014
We have the location narrowed down to the state of Colorado.

The goal here is to get a few THCFarmers together to play some disc golf and have a relaxing, good time. This will be a friendly competition!

Our idea was to have everyone bring 1/4 oz of their finest, and top 3 would split the pot (pun intended?). That, of course, will be based upon legal issues.

We will be limiting the number of entries.
We are looking for a rentable, private course.

Please post thoughts and ideas in this thread.

We do have a couple sponsors so far who will be donating door prizes. We will probably give these out randomly during "awards ceremony", so that everyone has a chance to win something. If you have additional parties interested in sponsoring a prize or two, please let us know.

Here is a list of all the DG courses with camping nearby. As far as private goes the search wouldn't do private only.

http://www.dgcoursereview.com/brows...ountry=1&city=&state=7&zipcode=&zip_distance=

Here are a couple of private courses that I think would be awesome and we can definitely rent for the day. I have yet to play these. I've only played disc golf twice but I'm sooo down for the quarter sac classic.

38 holes with a pro shop we can rent for the day.

I'll sell ya the franchise rights for a plug nickel! :-)
I have a feeling these may be popping up more and more, once we get 'em rolling.

I'm moving this from another thread describing the courses in Pine CO.

"It ( http://www.dgcoursereview.com/course.php?id=6208 )is above the Bucksnort saloon up old stage coach road. There is this private course right around the corner as well and this is where we check in

I didn't even realize these places were in my hood! We can eat at Zoka's restaurant if people want. Kurt does a badass job with the food and drinks, best damn green chili cheese fries ever.

The bucksnort saloon is still there. The food and drinks kinda suck these days. I usually have "a" beer or iced tea as the atmosphere is worth seeing for 15 minutes and then go to Zokas for real belly fuel.

I think it's free to play but donations are very appreciated.

As far as camping is concerned there are a few places up here. Wellington lake comes to mind, private camping spots can be reserved there and there is free national forest camping all around it. http://www.castlemountainrec.com/

The camping is about 10 miles from the disc golf course, a mellow drive up 126."

so there might be much closer camping. Zokas has great food so go there regardless.

What? Disc and climbing! What an awesome sounding event. If Washington state competitors are welcome, I'm there. I under stand if you Coloradans don't want any Washingtonians there, especially after Sunday. Don't blame me I'm a bears fan. It been a while since I squeezed into my climbing shoes but I'm sure I can.

This is an unofficial THC farmer event. Any member of THC farmer is welcome. Space will be limited and we're holding it in Colorado, but no exclusions, not even for those who live behind enemy lines (Seahacks, er hawks).

PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU POST IN THIS THREAD

We can NOT discuss entry fees or prize schedule anywhere on this site.
Also, as per website Terms Of Use, do not discuss any trading of golf discs (or anything else...) You may bring as many discs, however, as you are comfortable carrying.

Here's how we proceed:
Limit your discussion to ideas about location, date, and time, etc. We can also discuss game rules, schedule of events, tourney style, and food/lodging recommendations.

As stated before, we are going to treat this like a bunch of buddies getting together to have some fun. I will make sure to do my part to make it worthwhile to get here.

My vote so far on the course is Phantom Falls. Thanks Sputnik! Let's get a call in to them and see what they say. Anybody know them on a first name basis, or should I call?

Are you folks familiar with IRC/mIRC? Old realtime chat proggie. It could be a good way to get coordinated without having to share emails, etc.

http://www.mirc.com/

You just have to start your own channel, do a little learning on it, but it's really not that hard.

It's how Dave and I really got to know each other. :)

He's probably out on vacation this time of year. I'll go down to Zoka's and ask about it, bunch of disc heads down there. Kurt who owns and runs the place was telling me about the foothill flyers DG club which he helps sponsor. I'll also ask about where the close camping is to the course as well, there might be a private spot where we can camp that's close. Zoka's might be closed for a couple of weeks this time of year. I'm pretty sure that not many people book their reservations that far in advance at Phantom Falls so we'll see. Alt I'm down to meet up and check the place out beforehand one of these weekends.

here's some affordable lodging right in town.

The crystal lake resort is right on the river and maybe a mile from the course and the restaurant/bar Zokas. If you want a room that would be the first choice.

there's some great fly fishing here too of you're into that.

Here's the pine grove website. http://historicpinegrove.com/index.html

Zeke, here ya go. Great climbing in the area.

Sphinx rock!!! home of the one of the hardest crack routes in North America, going 5.13d, I believe. Memory is ravaged, lol. Rumor has it that the crack was originally formed by dynamite.

Awesome, Sputnik. I'd be happy to meet ya on a weekend.

This is shaping up to be a roaring good time. Climbing, fishing, and disc golf. Three of my favorite things in the world.

5.13 huh? Guys I've been dragged up 5.12. I'm looking to cruise 5.8 and maybe blow out on some 5.10. Ten years ago I'd lead 5.11. Now I'm a big pussy and can't even mentally tie a figure 8. What happened to me? Fuck my life has gotten soft. Fuckit I'm gonna start training today! Yeah or maybe tomorrow or even early next week! Hell yeah I'm pumped now. Hmm I wonder what leftovers are in the fridge...
