Usually 24-48 hours to a decent 1/4 inch root and into an 1/8" to 1/4" hole in a party cup of ocean forest already watered in to good runoff and pre mixed with 20% perlite for drainage and to offset some of the unneeded nutes.

Tap root up by the way.

They almost always peek above soil in 24-48 hours if from a reliable source.

Of course a few percent never taproot or taproot and never surface.

Then (I use feminized) 5-7 weeks veg to maturity for a good average 3-5 oz plant in my garden.

Barring a million variables of course ;-)

Hmm may have buried a bit deep, I was going more for an inch and a 1/4 deep. I will remover this next time

Quite the collection I picked up tonight. I will be smoking the following...Afghan cow, LSD, Mind Control, red Leicester cheese, BLZ bud, lemon amnesia, and last but by no means least a free bud of Gorilla glue :) I'm thinking COCKTAIL!! :) zzzzzz....

This. For tiny seeds like basil, I will sow them on top of the soil (or jiffy plug) and sprinkle a bit of coco, wet and cover, or I'll mix the seed with some soil or medium that you can see broad coverage with. You can also make your own seed tape for carrots or radish using single ply toilet paper folded lengthwise. I think the tape helps spread the seeds out and is much easier to thin the beds, which I find to be a giant pain in the ass.

I had a j for lunch, Destroyer from another farmer, what great daytime smoke.
