With the pictures you post I realize how much fun you are having. It has actually helped inspire me to start exploring more again and letting go the stress of my health and perpetual garden for a while more too.

Were pretty much holistic when it comes to medicine.
Prevention thru nutrition...

Here ya go
Melt cube butter.
Add nice size tomato or two sliced..
with whisk mash up mater while slowly simmering, not too hot now..
Ad handful flower to thicken. Keep whisking, or stirring with fork.
Add cream or whole milk to desired thickness.
Can add basil and onion..
Little salt little pepper.
Done in 5 to 10 min..

I also feel the way you do about nutrition. But I have a sweet tooth for cold chocolate and over do it often.

But barely any alcohol for many years now and no eh hem, harder drugs for almost 20.

We just ate pan seared locally grown chicken breast. Sautéed farm fresh (local privately owned 80 year old super market) carrots and brocolli.

And fresh from the side of the road farm stand right around the bend asparagus.

And dried egg noodles. Lol.

Thanks for the kind words..
Life is too short not to enjoy.
We have inspired quite a few who have similar interests.
Our little farm also is a refuge for others who enjoy similar lifestyle.
We have made lots of friends from here and some enemies but that is their hang up not mine.
we have opened our hearts home and farm to others and our sharing has been returned 100 fold.
There are folks from here who are like family and in hard times have pretty much saved us with donations to get us by. Unconditional.
Better times now, will be collecting Soc. security in 9 months, returning to New Zealand next year for retirement celebration..

But the river, my back acre is my higher power, l know it may sound like balony but it wa a promise I made 16 years ago that if we got this place no more..
Have you heard my story??

A test..No way was I going to open and chug, 16 years not a drop.
Took home for wife.....

Hey if you can't control something that hurts you you have to avoid it.

And of course I know your story. I have been here for a while now. I can't tell much of my story in public but well, you know. I grew up in South Jersey.

Was looking at $12,000 to $15,000 to replace septic system
Our guy came up with a plan to enhance existing system
$1,500.00 or so...
What a great fella instead of him replacing and making more $$$ he did the right thing just what we need nothing more..
Told him...if you work here you will be fed real good...
Not all folks are out to rip off or over charge just to get work........

Aint it funny tho even tho it hurt so i could not stop!!!
I quit drinking countless times still amazed jug is plugged, but I must never think I got it licked....
just like they say day one day at a time, yesterdays gone live today tomorrow will come just do not ever take the sip.....what a fool I would be...
No moderation ever for me have to make it a mindset....Convince myself..

Tonight on the man platter
By the way eaten all meal on man platter for many years now
Baby back pork ribs dry rubbed with Trinidadian curry, salt, pepper, garlic powder, brown sugar. Convection roasted.
Buttered sweet corn, fresh salad greens..

The warden has granted a temporary release tomorrow for a river visit..
Got a ton dome to satisfy her needs..
Will get up and do chores then off I go.
summer is here and the fishing will be epic after the high water spring run off.
