They work great. I have some driver on board cobs. A 2x3x2 inch cpu heatsink with fan is enough for a 50w cob. Another project I'm working on is 9 50w cobs, 5 warm white, 4 burple for a total of 450w.
It's going to take a bit more, I've mounted them on a nice thick piece of aluminum, just need to frame the sides with aluminum u channel with some vent holes and a lid on the top with a couple fans. Should work great.

I just worried about using all this cheap stuff. But I suppose the big time led companies are using something similar and just putting their name on it, short warranty n done.
I have a buddy whose an electrician wiring everything but I still don’t want to put my $30 - 100 w led into a smaller tent. I have two cobs, 1, 2700k n 1, 4K
Idk how I’d sleep at night tho?
It’s a risk sourcing cheap stuff from China on amazon n Ebay
Another tradesman! AwsomeThere is a certain risk sourcing anything from anywhere. These are diodes. Current will only flow through 1 way. If they over-heat, they burn out (not combust). The bigger risk is in soldering the leads. Poorly done means exposed areas that are hot with electricity. Done correctly, there is very little risk of shock hazard and almost zero fire risk. My home made LED light runs hundreds of degrees cooler than any HID lamp. I sleep at night just fine .... However, keep in mind that I build million dollar production machines for a living so I have a much better handle on the do's and don'ts when dealing with electricity than the average person in non-technology related industries....

I was running tent each with 600w last year and decided to do the same and got a $250 Chinese led. It turns on.... hmmm that’s about the extent of it works ok for veg but I’ve stuffed it back in the box. I slashed out and got a couple of Es300 V2 by green sunshine Company and they have indeed brought a little bit of sunshine. My other room has a mars hydro on each side and back to the trusty hose in the middle. It’s fascinating actually to see how they respond to the different lights. Hps wins hands down but it can get exp when you have a few going. V2 Es 300s are killer. It’s worth mentioning that not many hydro stores here stock leds as people don’t like them and have gone back to the hps. That’s my experience anyway . I can’t even give away my Chinese LED!!Common guys I need some advice lol
I have actually seen the opposite in Socal. People are switching from HPS to LED. Our local hydro store must have 10 different LED lights on display. I believe the reason why the LED's get blasted on this site is because of the Chinese Purple lights and such. Mars has came out with their TS and whatever the other new model it. TS lasted about 6 months for me. Much more light per watt then the old reflector series. But nothing like a Fluence, Gavita or Growers Choice. The current misinformation about LED's is sad.I was running tent each with 600w last year and decided to do the same and got a $250 Chinese led. Yes read this before purchase, this is a awsome example of not only leds but how the farm is the shit!@Mollyambro
Plz read this thread..Forget Burples and forget Mars, and the rest of then cheapos.
Who is the go to LED guy?
I have been using HID lighting since to 80's. In my 4 x 7 canopy i use 2400 watts on a mover now. Been eyeing some LED panels at my local grow store, $1600.00 a panel! I realize these are tailored towards industrial grows but if I'm going to switch I'm not going to start with the budget stuff...www.thcfarmer.com
Currently I am running 28 Gavita 1000w DE getting around 2.4-2.8 pounds per light on my favourite strains. Kind of getting sick of the high energy costs and the extra AC needed. Also would I be able to get more production with the kingbrites
I keep hearing about these alibaba LED lights. Kingbrite has peaked my interest. What kind of production do you get with them? Is it as good or better? How is the quality of the Bud? What are the changes you make to keep the growing environment the same? I heard the AC cost is offsetted by the using extra dehumidifiers.
Do LED's perform better in flower or veg? How many amps do they take? Are they 220? How is the reliability and warranty/ warranty support. Also could I get 28 1000w kingbrites to replace 28 gavita 1000w
I know this post is asking for a lot of information so I thank you in advance !
No insult intended, but there are those of us that don't need all the weight! (assuming that it's even true) I am quite happy getting 3-9 quart jars per plant, and actually have more weed then I know what to do with.I work at a Hydroponic store and have helped setup commerical grows!
From personal exp there is nothing thats going to beat out the DE you have weight wise. You may be saving $$$ in electricity but just make sure your yields arent getting hurt!
Only comparable LED to 1000w is gonna cost an easy $800-$1500... Anything cheaper is absolute trash! I cant tell you how many of my customers switch over to LEDs just to kick themselves in the ass at the end of their grow!
LEDs just dont come anywhere close to a DE!
Just my opinion and experience with cannabis customers that grow.
Best Luck to you
I completely understand... Not saying your doing anything wrong... If it works for you and your good with getting less weight then it works! Most people dont have the viable space to run Double Ended lights anyways, especially in most basements. But you have to understand the guy that posted originally has 28 lights! He's DEFINITELY worried about weight... Thats big time growing! No insult intended, but there are those of us that don't need all the weight! This was nine jars (I don't bother to weigh anymore) under a HLG QB132 (driven at about 100 watts) and an HLG QB288 (running at about 120 watts) along side it. I have since switched to Kingbrite and have no regrets.
(Chopped 9 days later)
100% LED here and loving it.

No one said they LED's get less weight except those still running HPS!I completely understand... Not saying your doing anything wrong... If he spend a low wholesale cost of $500 per light thats $14,000 hes about to spend! I would just hate for him to spend that $$$ to be most likely extremely disappointed in the end!
Thats all.

The lights That I use are no where near $500 per light anyway. (maybe half that or so)
You really should have seen what Sixstring (a past member did with LEDs!
3 of three of my own grow students have switched and will never go back..(one need weight too!)
So you genuinely think that an LED out performs or even matches a DE?Yes..I teach a few students to grow.
I'm sure that many here have a load of pictures of larger grows than mine. @Mr.jiujitsu is a better example
