Lol yeah it's free. I bring the lakewater home from work, I pump it directly out of the golf club irrigation system. I have a 55 gallon drum in the back of my pickup that fills the holding tank in my shed.

I actually think there is something to this lakewater. The lake is surrounded by a fairly large marshland that attracts a lot of wildlife. The water itself has a weak chamomile tea look to it from the tannins and humates it picks up from the marsh. Has 100ppm tds, and is about 7.2ph. After I add the calcium silicate and pbp grow to about 1.1ec the ph drops down to 5, then I bring it up to 5.8 with potassium silicate. That recipe with this water has worked extremely well in the past, and seems to be getting these plants back on track.

Likely was a factor for sure. I was watering every other day for the first week and daily by week 2. Though I'm still watering daily, I'm getting a lot more dryback now that the plants are filling out.
But I also think cutting out calmag helped. It so stupid... I know better than this lol.

Everything i have read about coco says to add calmag regularly as the medium clings to calcium. Always sounded weird to me though.

Same. I figured since I was using rainwater it would be a must, but the plants sure didnt seem to like that concoction. I've read quite a bit about coco that sounds strange.. I'm just gonna treat it almost like rockwool from here out honestly.

Gotta say as much as I'd like to have flawless grows, I love learning stuff along the way and having issues facilitates that process lol. It's a pretty great feeling to open the door and see improvement.

I hear that. Im going through a learning curve again under and overfeeding/ watering the pro mix hp. :-)

Here is a pic from Saturday one week ago, and another from yesterday. Actually not terrible growth for a week despite the poor color. I think these are gonna take off once I figure things out and get it dialed. Likely by the time it starts taking multiple daily feeds.

How do you keep track of your plants feeding and water cycles. I'm have a hard time with 20+ plants at a variety of ages & 8-9 different strains. Do you use a spread sheet or? I'd like a method where I can see at a glance who needs what. As it is now I have to lift the opots or go through each wordpad doc to see who needs what/ how much & when. Any suggestions?

Looks like they are greening up nice. I like the automation. I was always to lazy to set it up lol.

Best thing you could do is get a clipboard and hang it in the room, and keep notes of what you're feeding and when, pruning days etc.

I just try to keep everything the same age and close to the same size so that the flowering plants will for the most part all get the same feed at the same times.. usually..

I write the strain name and number on one side of the plant stake label and the sprout or clone planted date, and transplant to 1 and 3 gallon dates and when they moved to 12/12. All the main info at a glance stick in each plant.

I keep a clipboard and legal pad with a daily to do list. I wrote down every plant how many days since last water/feed and star plants that likely need attention. Also any other needed tasks go on the clipboard.

Then i make a yellow post it note each time i water/feed a plant with in and out ec and ph if needed and the date and keep a pile of post its for each plant on a desk blotter. I can see everything done and when to every plant right at the desk.

Only negative is i go through a lot of post its but i tracked what to do with many customers when i was an account manager with post its stick to my office wall and so it seemed right when i started this.

Having the clipboard and the notes has helped me to not make mistakes and be able to go back and look at history for every different plant.

Now that I have a desktop comp in my room I have wordpad doc on my desktop for each plant but unless I open the doc I can't see if its in need until I lift the pot. Then I check the doc for its needs but I'd like to be able to come into my room and see who needs what. A work in progress on ideas to improve my record keeping.

Record keeping has never been my strong suit. I just try to simplify things to the point I can keep track mentally.
Like I mentioned all my flowering plants will be the same age and size, and the same goes for my vegging plants usually. So everything is on the same schedules and it's easy to remember.

The only time it gets complicated for me is this time of year when I start cracking new beans. I'm going to get a tray of seeds going fairly soon and then I'll have 3 different groups of plants in different stages to manage. But I'm looking forward to looking for another forbidden zkittlez and also trying out renos hyper blue cherry magoo. Undecided what other strains I'll run. I might do some more @Dragonsflame Dragon cheese and my mighty mite to find males to breed with.

I find they all don't need watering at the same time. Even when they start together by 3-4 weeks time their needs may be opposite one another or a 1- 3 days apart, the pots dry at different speeds for whatever reason and I don't feed or water until they need the liquid. I was kind of hoping one of you guys would have a template or charting method used by pro's to keep track of things I could try.

Sorry man, I got nothing. I'm trying to avoid that issue by using stuff like rockwool and coco that gets multiple daily waterings. I used to have the issue you're having with my promix grows.
In fact I've found it's one of the main benefits of hydroponic growing, is all the plants are getting fed on a pretty regular schedule that's easy to monitor values going in and coming out.
