I never went to the store mrs. Mmg is keeping me home as i am a risk patient for covid if i contact.
Turns out it is a 2016 model 700. Not the rifle i was researching but still quite a steal at $200.
But since she bought a different one than i wanted she bought my half out and i will have to buy my own later. I still get to shoot it though. :-)
Looks like we will go hunting together in the fall. I have never hunted before. Im trying to fit in with the self proclaimed hillbillies around here. Lol.
Now back to riding mountain bikes and paddling kayaks...

Lmao I dont think she has any idea what she just bought but SCORE!
Her dad took her to the black powder club as a little girl. And her brother is a competing marksman. Her other brother owns this same model. She aint new to guns.
I have owned a few but knew little about this stuff. But boy i just crammed a ton of knowledge about it the last few days.
We are going to have her family friend a gunsmith across the lake look it over and oil it and maybe de burr if needed and we will blow off some rounds at his range on his property and dial in the scope. Supposed to be done at the factory but im sure it isnt perfect.
Congratulations , thats a good deal , first rifle , always exciting , but i hate to tell you this , its almost as addictive as growing .....Her dad took her to the black powder club as a little girl. We have been gifted a lot of venison over the years. Its time we return the favor.
Then comes casting your own projectiles lol. I still have a 5 gallon pail of lead wheel weights in my shop I'll probably never melt. I Sold the only gun I really made bullets for so my gear is collecting dust. Sold off my molds and the gas check lube press already as well.Next investment reloading.... Hahaha
a little population control never hurt neither...
