Sorry @PipeCarver I missed this question back there... It doesnt matter if it has bits of soil or coco in the runoff for testing with a meter. No need to filter itHey Dirtbag, How clean does a liquid sample have to be for ppm readings. Should you filter the sample to remove dirt particles or does it matter much?

Theyll be 6 weeks on Saturday. End of the second week of flower on Sundayhow old are we now?
Looking amazing bro. Im hoping to have the room done by the end of next weekend. Going sunshine 4 and adding another 25% perlite. Still have to do a slurry may add some silica or calcium carbonate to it yet. Should be enough drainage to water daily once they get going. Who knows I have only ever used promix for a grow elsewhere and I don't really look after it. So Aquaman is about to get dirty. I'm very much leaning coco after this is used up.
Feel free to give me some dirt tips. Last thing I wanna do is fall flat on my face ☹
I was going to add another 25% perlite to it but now I'm thinking and going to change that to vermiculite for the silica in it. That should give me a 50/25/25 peat/vermiculite/perlite. I was planning exactly as you say... Treating it like coco. Thank you for confirming that for me. I have good environmental controls... Everything on controllers and will be supplementing CO2. My own real concern is bugs... I have never had to deal with them and dirt has me terrified in that area.Hey Aqua, Like you hydro was my thing for many years, but wanted a change so went to coco just found it pricey and a shit load of water to flush un buffered coco , so went to sunshine #4 much cheaper, I'm not cheap but after learning how to grow in it, my grows are as good as coco or so close it doesn't matter, I know I know the masses say its not possible, I'm not going to argue it, so here is kinda what I do, the way I grow the key for me is soil density/drainage vs plant size vs pot size, I grow plants 4 feet plus anyhow like to shoot for 5 to 5.5 , I use 4 gallon pots, sunshine mixed with a little coco , not a lot just enough to mix in to break up the sunshine a bit. My rooms are very consistent in lighting humidity and temps, if your in a basement try to keep your soil temp as steady as you can, cement floor will cool it . Your going to have to play with it a bit , but the reason I say this , is once I got all this stuff in harmony with each other in my room for my growing style , I treat my sunshine the same as I do coco, I water 3 to 4 times a day , I water until my soil is good an moist but not soaking wet, I don't get run off, I feed ( PPM) what the plant needs no more , let your plants tell you this, about very 7 days they'll get a water flush with some enzymes, thats it. My feeds are sometimes broken up meaning , I make my own nutes so I only feed macro , and micro together, so my next feeding maybe kelp with something or silica with something etc , or all feeding that day will be macro/micro,. Now this is late veg/ flower when their small and growing they only need once a day. It may sound like a lot but its really simple now, throw everything in and let it go lol my fed is on timers etc..think outside the box.

Will be running mega crop and hygrowzyme. Possibly some myco but haven't decided yet. Should be set up by Sunday room wise but decision wise I'm not sure. We will see how she goes... If I get close to @dirtbags results by some miracle then I may stay in it... If not we'll then I will likely be inclined to jump ship. I really appreciate the information bro
Ok well that encourages me to atleast think I'm on the right path here. Now that leaves me with another problem... What the hell do I blame it on if my hydro ass can't grow in dirt lolFunny you say that... I just picked up a vermiculite/perlite mix for this reason...
