A buddy was telling me about rove beetles the other day. Are they effective as claimed?? @SeaF0ur Have you had good luck with them?

Who can identify this? Im two weeks into flower. Only pest I can spot is a few gnats. Zero mites. No spots no yellowing no plant problems in site besides this. . But I keep seeing this shit like the leaves are being eaten by something? All in coots mix. No commercial soil I used a super dried out bale of sphagnum peat moss that took days to rehydrate. Only thing I can think of is something root related

I've taken in clones with red assed root aphids... didnt know it immediately... the cat I got the cut from started sayin he got fungus gnats from me in the trade (possible, I dont consider them pests) but when I went to his grow, it took me 2/10ths of a second to notice their rounded bulbous asses and long wings extending past that fat round ass so I knew immediately they were flying aphids... went home and saw a crawler in my veg box.... I never saw anything else... the roves got em....
I got a similar story about onion bulb mites...
for me, rove beetles are a mandatory part of my grow's "immune stsyem"

pimp, that looks like a mutation as opposed to insects... No serrations usually means photoperiod stress, but that looks like a mutation to me... generally grasshoppers and the like leave noticeable divots or chunks missing... I'm not aware of anything that goes smoothly along the edge of a leaf eating straight lines ... I'm leaning toward mutation in the leaves... I have seen a cleaner version of no serration mutation, but that was a whole plant doing it uniformly... yours looks like a stress mutation... but if it is a mutation, I dont think theres much to fix....

If you believe it is damage from grasshoppers, you might think to try a parasite like Nosema locustae...

I was thinking it looked more like a mutation/deficiency rather than a pest myself @SeaF0ur @Pimp T

I have no idea its pissin me off. I dont think its a insect of anykind the room is small they wouldnt have anywhere to hide I would see it/them by now. I dont know about photo period stress the room is completely dark not one light leak. I would think mutation but its on 3 different strains and not really on stardawg just a litle not like this above tho im stumped. I would think deficiency but they are so healthy and have all the nutrients in the soil they could ever need. Tm7 bi weekly and just got top dressed with worm power..

I've seen it before on plants that I just chalked up to a mutation because it would be a few leaves on a plant or 2 and that was it. Never got worse or progressed and once they finished I never saw it again. I dunno man, I hope to doesn't affect your crop brother.

Gentle men and ladies I have a Theory on the plants in question
seeing this made me think of a grow I did 2nd time and It was the Timer
During the lights out 12 hrs I had somehow programmed a single 15 min Lights on one of the lights timers
it was just enough to cause the issue in my 2nd grow location
Now its just a Thought but Check it out
I hope its something you can discover quickly and get your Super grows back on Point.

in addition, perhaps a toxicity or lockout of a micronutrient? have you changed anything as far as feed goes?

Ya I'm with the other guys..... Looks like a genetic mutation. Just my 2c

You want to see one strain that was a mutant I ran into. I wont mention the comp where I got them. Suffice to say stay away from Wild Thai....... hint hint I renamed this strain Bad Hair Day. It had single blades some doubles some 3,s some edges had no serration some did. Craziest looking cannabis I had seen in a while....

There is only one. I fought them and I won. U need merit 75 period. I don't care about any other treatment anyone says. Get merit and they will die.

that could be something right there... uv light is a known mutagen... perhaps you're too close to the bulb? UV-B radiation - besides supposedly causing higher THC content in flowering plants - is a known mutagen.

http://lecturer.ukdw.ac.id/dhira/BactGenetics/chemmutagens.html
III B4. UV MUTAGENESIS
Exposure of bacterial cells to UV light generates primarily cyclobutane dimers and py(6-4)pyo photo products at adjacent pyrimidine bases. While the former seem necessary for induction of SOS repair (see below), the latter seem to be the actual sites at which the mutations eventually occur.

I would think maybe toxicity but I skipped a couple tm7 feedings. The soil mix was 1 cuft SPMoss 1 cuft Worm Casting 1 cuft Aeration. To every cuft of the mixture 1 cup kelp 1 cup crab meal 1 cup neem cake 2 cups basalt 1/2 cup gypsum 1/2 cup oyster shell flour. They are so healthy if it was deficiency or toxicity I would think it would be other signs of problems coming with them. They are praying like sunday morning at a cathedral with no spots or change in growth rates. My first two thoughts were maybe a root insect issue maybe gnat larvae or aphid or the uv in that 4k light the light is 2 1/2 feet away (due to stretch) but not hot on them my a/c keeps the room 75 lights on 69 lights off. I moved the lights up to 3 1/2 feet from canopy.

I have other plants I just moved in there today in coco being fed vegamatrix under a gavita so ill see what happens with the new ones. Im not too familiar with bugs issues but due to the health of plants im pretty stuck on maybe root aphids or the uv in the bulb

aside from the spot of odd growth, if the overall health of the plant is quite good, I would lean even further towards a mutation of sorts aside from multiple plants showing the same traits. when did you first notice it? I would think it would almost have to do with a minor feeding imbalance of some sort somewhere...
