Haha I just finished my first tree grow and I used buckets for runoff (DTW FTW For sure!) because I wasnt sure how big they would get and I didnt wanna have to move lights and repipe drainage. What a pain in the ass! This time I hardpiped all the plants, acs and dehumeys and my back loves me for it!

They are looking funky for sure +rep. Also I think DD's says to use 1000's because with 600s you get more scrag/larf in the middle due to lack of penetration. Any girl will tell you, it is all about penetration! :fighting0003:

Drain to waste FTW. Makes trouble shooting plant problems so much easier if you know exactly what they get every feed.

Downside is I did not setup a sump pump for the waste water so I get to crawl and empty runoff every night.

Looking great Donkdbz! DTW FTW indeed! Any suggestions for sump pumps? I have a small 5 gal bucket to catch the runoff in my small coco DTW setup, but it would be nice to put a sump pump in there rather than dumping manually... :thinking

If you are looking for a sump pump for the runoff I usually use a flotec from home depot and plug it in to a water sensor (also at home depot) so it runs untill the sensor is dry then stops pumping. Just position the sensor an inch or 2 from the bottom of your drain tank and forget about it. Also I know some guys around here use condensate pumps from a house Ac which will automatically turn itself on when it gets wet. I just like the sump/sensor setup because even if I get a rouge piece of perlite or hydroton in the bucket it will pump it right out.

HI

Have you thought of maybe vegging a little longer?

Then double stacking your 1000k making a 8 foot wall of light to go with your 7-8' bitch(including stretch)?

IMHO trees allow you get more ounces per plant over smaller bitches = keeping your ass out of prison...

Efficent compared to tons of plants per sqft???

Not sure medical cards says 12, so shit Never had luxury of testing that out however 2-3 lbs per plant is capable by most Imho with trees so why risk prison?
And dd's boast of 8lb+ so GIVES US ALL SOTHING TO STRIVE FOR....

Caps Auto Drain = Lame.... msrp 159. and you still have to buy a pump.

Iscrogs setup suggestion run you probable 80 bucks. plus sump pumps have built in float valves.

While this may be only my 3rd Tree run. This is my 8th Vert run.

I have come to the conclusion that bulb wattage should be determined by Genetics.

My 1st vert tree run was Green Crack and Skywalker. They had very few large fans. I ran 600's with em and got great results. Given a larger space and 1000's would have pushed my results through the roof.

This run and last run My girls have very large fans. Cause of them large fans my 1000 is only penetrateing 6"s into the canopy.

Heath uses 600's and claims over 1gpw and his photos actually look like over 1gpw.

dud its funny you mention fan leaves lol Ive been trying to decide if i should pluck most of them of early on in flower... I know thats were all the plant does alot of its work in fan leaves..
But i have to buddys that grow trees and both pluck the fuck out of the fan leaves opening up huga canopy. Both get 2-3lbers so I'm starting to think about maybe following in there steps @least with 1 run see if it removing the LARGE fan leaves increase decreases or stays the same when it comes to yeild..

Day 24

I give up on plucking fans I go in there one day pick a trash bag full. Not too much on each girl so I don't cause to much stress. Go in a day later do a lil more. 2 days later all the small fans got huge in response. Lame

48" on centers. I think 26" cages. Next run I think I got a plan on what to add to the cages. Cause right now I get to crawl in there and tie branches that are falling up. My back is hella sore today.
