Im building a little chick pen because my hens and turkeys will peck them to death if I leave them out and about. I didn't want to spend much if any money so I'm using scrap wood from a renovation I was doing this spring. I was going to make the entire fir stand into a turkey coop but my children commandeered it for their fort but they were nice enough to give me this tiny portion for a chick rearing/roost. Of course just like everything around here, it involves a hugel as well. I let the wood and branches sit for a year or two normally to give wild birds some extra protection that they love. Im an a hurry on this one though, so I will start it this fall, so here is the start of both the chick coop and the hugel. I am going to build that gothic arch greenhouse over top of this next year.

So is that why some people put a metal halide into a flower room? To get more blue light?

yes more consistent blue light :-) I use a ratio in my other rooms, so I use 7-10% blue light in bloom, or vice versa with red in veg, I also use 5% additional lighting, so this would be like GT's UV and IR etc

Yes ma'am... it slows down cell elongation and late in flower blue is closer to ultraviolet for protection(trichs)

microbes mate :) I just go in every now and again to check they dont need a drink :) or that they aint going jenna, I know 80% of the tent is gravy, but 20% is brand newbian, I dont know the breeder, dont know anyone that does, so I will run with it and see some, I think the dudes are spanish/ dutch but who knows.
