:)
Lino was the wrestler I was just a soccer player as a kid:)
That was a funny story:D it's the what if part that gets ya. Like what if the truck stalled at that very moment? Hehehe or what if he caught you before you made It in the window!
It would have been bad. At the time I was 5'10" 175. I also have a big frame. My shoulders are much wider than a typical person my height, my arms and legs are longer too. At 175, I look emmaciated. When I've gone into the doctors at 175, the doctors tell me I need to gain weight, in spite of that little chart. It's like I have 175 lbs worth of bones in my body. 195 is a good look for me. This guy was about 230, all muscle. I know because all he had on was jeans, boots, a leather belt, and a black leather vest. So I could see pretty clearly this guy was big. So he had 55 lbs on me, a lot of reach, he's drunk, knowing that bar he is probably coked up and extremely angry.
I'm not quick to make decisions like that. I've seen a lot of people who "look" extremely tough, that can't take a punch. And I'd say, probably the two toughest people I know are tiny. Sammy Garcia, and one eyed Suk. (Sook, not suck) One eyed sook lost his sight in one eye after, during a fight, the kid pulled a knife and stabbed him in the eye. I want there for it, but everyone said he still kicked the kids ass. Suk weighed 145 at the most, but I wouldn't tangle with him. Sammy Garcia (I think Google might pull something up, he's been in e paper enough) is in jail for murder. I went to school with Sammy. In 6th grade, 6!, he was fighting all the biggest "tough" kids in the school. Now he was violent.
I also went to school with the American kid who joined Al-queda a few years back (the first known case of it). Danny Maldonado. That was weird.
I have a friend who is 240 at my height. His wife asked me to get him a t-shirt for a surprise. I did, she said it was way too big, and I actually really liked the shirt, so I took it back. I put it on, and it's a bit large in the stomach area (it wouldn't have been for him) but it fits me enough that I would wear it (I'm 195-200 now) So I put it on and asked my wife how this shirt could possibly not fit him. She said, "Your shoulders are REALLY wide, in fact, all of you is just, big. I feel like they gave you a 6'2 persons body and just smushed it down to 5'10. You just have big bones."
Big Bones, experience, even if I had back up, I wasn't gonna fight that guy. You are right, if he somehow got a hold of me, he would have picked me up and body slammed me into another dimension. I had a plan when I got t of the car...it never occurred to me until you brought it up, but I didn't have a plan B.
I think plan B would have involved me going to the hospital to get the sidewalk removed from my face, then sorting through the bones to see what could be salvaged and what was throw away. I was only 19 or 20 at the time. This guy was a full grown, massive man. And It's a tough bar, that's where Micky and Dickie hang out. Dickie punched my cousin so hard outside the bar he killed him a few years back. My cousin could be an idiot when he was drunk, but I wasn't there to know what really happened. Had I been, I would have de-escalated the entire way. I, nor you, nor "we," are gonna fight a retired, top tier, professional boxer who fought Sugar Ray Leonard. My uncle and grandfather still kicked my rear end, this guy will slaughter us. My grandfather was in his 70's, still punched like a freight train. For a boxer, the punching part is like riding a bike, they will never forget.
The best part of the whole thing was hearing my friend say "do you think you should drive?" As he frantically steers the car and keeps checking his rear view. I think I will laugh about that until I'm dead.
