Thanks for clearing it up, yea. I thought you got 2 of them, sorry. Must have been smoking some really good dope last night.
Is that why there's two 1000's is that the deal with that one? The position? I was wondering about that one.See how the numbers go down on the sides? That's because the diodes were all aimed down. When they changed it, the numbers evened out some.
In the UV A+B range?I beg to differ. The T5's are great, but diodes just passed tubes in the economic scale. They produce more per $ than the T5's.
Dr. Bruce just did an interview on this.
Yeah, a bit misleading on my part. Those charts are for bar lights. I used them just to show the spread of the light. Is that why there's two 1000's is that the deal with that one? The position? I was wondering about that one.
There not too expensive too. So how would I run these if I where to get 1 for each side of my 4x8Onwards to the next lesson, UV A+B...
The most efficient UV A+B... t5's These make a huge difference in resin production. Diodes can't compete at this wavelength..
I use 1 of these in my 2x4, and I've got one hanging in the 6x6, which I could be running two in there. Not only large bump in resin production, but also protection against PM, bugs and other problems down the line.
I love how my flowers look under these lights, giving them a nice suntan. (but don't look into the light). lol
Let me say it this way....:In the UV A+B range?
Yes, that would be perfect actually, and you can even hang them from your ledsThere not too expensive too. So how would I run these if I where to get 1 for each side of my 4x8
I like this response, I think you nailed it on the head.Let me say it this way....:
Diodes are now able to produce more photons at the UVA/B range than tubes for the same dollar. They are more efficient than the T5's. But that does not mean they are putting out more.
The tubes put out a higher number of UV photons because of the size difference. Even though the LEDs are cheaper (per LED) the tubes still have the size advantage.I like this response, I think you nailed it on the head.
Yea.. I plan on just doing a 4 pot run this time just to get my feet wet and play around with my variables until I find that sweet spot .. I’ll still go with the bigger tent as it’s only 200$ .. but I’m thinking the same thing.. cause cannabis grows outside with no human help at all so really I’m just taking to mind set that less is more and it doesn’t need me for anything but to keep the environment good and water all the other stuff is just icing on the cakeCurtisBlow916, for what it is worth, there are many options on equipment and products that will work when growing cannabis...just look around at the farm and you can see all the variables through suggestions provided here. I realize you have put a lot of research into your future grow, and probably spent a lot of money also, but good growers can make it work with what they have...it isn't all about the equipment or a specific product. Yes, equipment makes it easy to get some better results, but you have to know what you are doing in your garden to make it work. Might I suggest you start a small grow, learn how not to kill your plants, and see if you have a green thumb for this first, before spending all that money and finding out you still have problems making it work. I know there is a learning curve in the process, and it is through this growing experience that one learns how to grow, and then when you see what you need, then look at what equipment you need to do what you want. Just a though that could help you save a lot of money and grief
So the nutrients are the candles?Controlling that environment is the icing on the cake so to speak. Once you got that dialed in well, your on a really good road.
That, and good genetics... The nutrients can be delivered a multitude of different ways.
So I wouldn’t run the led and the t5s simultaneously ? Even with the led running at 20% powerYes, that would be perfect actually, and you can even hang them from your leds
Yes, I run them at the same time, actually. Many people only start running the UV during flower, but I start earlier, actually. It creates a hardening of the plant. The UV rays give the plant a suntan of sorts. It stimulates a stress response in the individual plant cells. So I wouldn’t run the led and the t5s simultaneously ? Even with the led running at 20% power

That, and good genetics... The nutrients can be delivered a multitude of different ways. IMO, getting that part right is the hardest part. That's the biggest x factor, is nutrition, once all other things are in line.
They always change cultivar to cultivar also. That's why I suggest starting out with a big fat prolific indica, preferably a kush of some type. A good stable strain that's not going to flip one way or another, because you don't have your lighting dialed in perfectly.
A control is a reference point to help in comparing in results through changing variables.. ie.What for?
