Just found another Chocolate Orange Creamsicle bean when I broke up flowers for my "thinking joint" (working on my solar system). So now I have enough beans to send you a few COC, along with the BIC & BC beans. Gotta wait till March to send cause I don't have the $6 right now, hehe. Friggin propane $$$ absolutely smashed my wallet this month along with last minute parts to set up my solar. Still waiting for a set of 10a fuses and need another x2 kill switches, x2 10amp PV fuses, and x3 mc4 waterproof fuse holders (To run my solar panels in parallel instead of series. I think that gives me faster charging but need to double check).

Oh no worries bro. That’ll work out better for me anyhow. What do you think of the design?

Actually I’m loving The Growing Pot. I have made a few adjustments to the design and might make a couple more small tweaks.

So the reason I call it that is about 10-12 years ago I thought of it and drew it out. I was in my grow room transplanting / uppotting a plant and was like this is stupid. Why are we still doing it this way? Why can’t I just remove the bottom and add more soil underneath? I waited and waited and it never came to the market. I figured someone would have made it by now. So over the years I’ve always joked with my wife that I should have made “the growing pot” as we nicknamed it. This last year I had a falling out with my old business partner. He started selling units of our device behind my back after I sunk three years and hundreds of thousands of dollars into the business. So I walked away. Sure I could have sued him but whatever, I don’t need him, he needs me. He tried to release the product three other times and failed. We partnered up and I made it a huge success. Even featured on the front page of yahoo.

So I was left with no product to sell. I’m a salesman. Have been my whole life. I like to push products that I believe in and have done well doing just that. So the wife says to me why don’t you make “the Growing Pot”? I looked at her and said, ya know that’s a great idea. So I started the process. I had hired an engineering firm to do the design and initial prototype. They did nothing but drain my bank account. They came up with a decent design but it was way to expensive to have made. So I started tinkering with different ideas and designs. I thought about maybe a disposable version made from coated cardboard that included soil. But that seemed wasteful. Then my brother bought me a 3d printer for Christmas so I started tinkering with some CAD designs and have made some prototypes that I’m currently using. And it works just as I anticipated. The one I’m using now is a little tall so I’ve made the sections shorter and that model looks great. My only fear is I’ve designed this to fit my rack and not tents and general container gardening. So I think I may go back and make it larger so it would be better for use in tents and patio container gardening.

Really I’ve been in a holding pattern while I’m using it and testing it all out. But I’d love to have your help in promoting it and getting it to market. I really feel it’s a great solution and the results growing in it have been fantastic. I just need a little help getting over the hump.

Keep your nick-name for it as the common name because those are good words for meta tags, and a specialised name with an uncommon spelling to make come up on top when customers are looking specifically for it.

If you use "G-G-Growing Pot"? It's so on the nose that it half describes the "system". Using the words "growing system" in the description gives it a more technical sounding name and will make your customers feel more clever for buying it.

Yeah The Growing Pot is more of a working title right now as I work out the kinks and bugs. I have a round version of it as well that’s very nice and printed professionally. These square units I’m printing myself and I don’t have the hang of 3d printing quite yet. But I’m getting there.

I'd love to try some out this spring and give you a "customer testimonial". How ??? $$$

If you do/can make them from biodegradable plastic you can slap a hippie approved sticker (eco-friendly) on them.

That would be my goal. Corn plastic would be great if I can source it and it would stand up to repeated use.

I probably wouldn’t charge you anything for the first one. I’d be happy to send you one if I can get them printed out ok. The ones I’ve got now aren’t printed the best so I’d like to maybe tinker with the printer settings some and get some nicer ones made so you can show them off :-)

I'll post in my in my grow log and there's a lot of older folks around me growing. These people have been growing stuff like organic heirloom tomatoes for decades and with the new laws many are using those mad growing skills for small gardens and garage grows. The local retirees buy a lot of specialty garden equipment.

That’s awesome. I’ll get to work on this ASAP. How big of a unit do you think would suffice your and their needs?

Thanks man.

I hadnt quite decided between 3-5gal, but I've been leaning towards 5's. What do you think? 4x2x5 tent. I'll buy smartpots the same sise so it's a fair comparison.

I was also thinking of possibly growing in 1gal smartpots and flipping early for a couple short breeding runs. Nothing set in stone yet.

I’ll do some math and see what I can come up with. The great thing with this is you can always add more layers so we can make it 3,5 or even 10 gallon if we make enough parts.

Ooooo... My girl's gonna be stacked.

I think I'll use it for one of the Jacks. Fâââr inn, brother.

Wellllllllllllllllllllll..at least it is a spring water jug! LOL

Yeah I had to start buying water again. My tap water has a lot of iron in it and I was getting a manganese lockout. Since switching to filtered spring water my plants are back on track. One of those weird situations where I could have added manganese but it wouldn’t have fixed it cause it was a lockout caused by an over abundance of another mineral.

I have a leak in my RO system and shut it down until spring (cold under the kitchen sink, and I hate plumbing). I have been using tap with no ill effects so far. I do let it sit out overnight since we have a lot of Chlorine (the real stuff) in our water.
