I like the new mellinium Winter Frost. I believe it really helps, I tried it with the Ruby Red but I did not see any real difference. We are kind of doing the same thing in some ways. I an not using the AN stuff but GP Massive. I believe they both have Tria in them. I have used the Overdrive with the same results as Massive. What I am going to change is when I give them massive and the dose. I was at about 2.5 mills per gallon week 4 thru 6 and I am going to raise it at budset and lower it sooner. The PGRs can be difficult to deal with late in flower. Less is more IMO.
My current plan is to run the Jacks 321 per their feed chart and not use any of my add ons. I would like to get a true base line for the stuff in relation to what I know I can get with a tried out plant. They have made some changes to the line and I would like to see what the results are before getting into the addons. They are now suggesting a different fert for the first 2 weeks of flower and they offer a finisher. I spent so much time in December trying to figure out nutrients and it was really hard to get solid data because there is so much marketing and bro science out their.
I am all about saving where I can so the Jacks was pretty interesting from that respect, but the problem I have with the
Athena stuff is the way their Grow and Bloom do 2 things. #1 the darn stuff is so Hydroscopic it is outrages. I had the stuff up off the floor in tubs in plastic bags and it still picks up water out of the air. I did some experiments and I think I picket up about 18 percent water weight with the stuff. #2. The stuff does not fully dissolve. There is always particles floating around in the rez. That was the first thing I noticed about Jacks. I mixed up all of the Jacks (Part A) in a 1 quart plastic container and it fully dissolved. No way with
Athena. TBH I think it just comes down to quality of inputs for stuff.
I just wish there was clear information out there about the Nutrients but there is not. So I am just going to take the simple stupid approach and see what happens. It cracks me up to see what people do with some of this stuff. Jacks 321 is basically a single nutrient line start to finish. You mix the Jacks Fert with Magnesium Sulfate. That does in the rez. Than you mix in Calcium Nitrate and you can be done. I do use a Silica Product and a sterilizing agent so those go in ass well. But you hear people says oh I am not running the Calcium Nitrate or less of this or more of that. So I say to myself, JR Peters is a 70 year old company. They have been making ferts for 70 years and here you know more than a group that has been in business for 70 years.
