It said it was safe for humans but sometimes I wonder if that means only if you eat it or if it is also safe if you smoke it.

I have a buddy that swears by it...he's an organic die hard . I don't believe he uses it after week 6 of flower tho.

This is my first attempt at hydro, it's a single dwc system, general hydroponics nutes, and a 5 week old clone of blue dream haze. Pic was taken just after a defoliation. Flipped on 04/01.

Hi I'm very interested to see how you get on with the hydro grow. I have a tiny grow room and could have one of those pots in it. Also the clone is very bushy, was it an in flower cutting?

It's a blue dream haze cut, this is what it looked like the day I took it home.
I thought that dwc would be a less work option...with that being said...I think a recirculating system would be easier to maintain.
Feb.20th is when I took that pic.

I forgot to mention that I do use a small pinch of Epsom salts and a teaspoon of great white in each water change. (Weekly)
A word of caution...I have had to "top off " the water every other day to maintain level. I found this out the hard way. My tds meter was reading 2100 the water had dropped that low!

I topped the plant on March 19th, and have been doing LST to improve canopy.

Well, I had to back the light off to 85% was starting to see some sign of light burn, I may have went a little overboard with the LST. But she is recovering. Not sure i should have continued with flattening her out, being that she is in a crucial stage of flowering, but this strain runs a long time if I remember correctly, so it will be fine.

I’ve been looking for VA-specific info and noticed that they were scattered all over the site. Thought it might be easier to have one thread that gathers everything for Virginia.
The purpose of this thread is to unite Virginia growers so we can all share our experiences, tips, tricks, recipes, etc., and keep the Virginia marijuana community growing.

I’ll start it off.
Total newbie to growing (and even to gardening).
First grow. Growing two plants outdoors. Don't have an indoor setup.
Even though I've done something wrong at nearly every stage, my plants appear to be doing fairly well.
They're not ready to harvest yet, but guessing in the next 2-4 weeks?
But, the weather is quickly cooling off with lots of rain.
It's in the 50's today.
How much do I need to worry about possible negative effects caused by the weather?
I keep hearing about bud rot, etc.
What can I (should I) do to take these two plants across the finish line?

Hope there’s some interest in a VA thread.
Thanks!!

I’d like to be included with Virginians. I would so appreciate friends knowing our grow area. Please allow me to receive your criticism and help as I’ll not only gladly accept but be ever thankful. Be advised, I’m totally new to cannabis but half a century of landscaping, vegetable, root, tuber, bulb, tree growing and compost/soil pro so in terrible need of info on this new journey.
Just learning about lung rooms. The room the tent is in is at least 6 X 12 larger than 5X10 tent, is heated in winter and cooled by HVAC & vented into room. With the door to room open there’s good air flow. The exhaust will be vented into room/house then, obviously back through HVAC filter. Cooled air in summer comes from vent in floor nicely situated near vent openings in tent. The obvious attitude is to use the 5X10 as a complete grow through the seasons. In spring/fall temps the window in room can bring in cool (65 - 75 deg) fresh air. The cool, dry basement is always averaging 55 deg., humidity avg. 40% and used for dark, cool, low humidity hanging/drying/trimming flower. Then dried bud in mason jars for burping in said basement. That’s way more info I intended sharing but need your insight if at all doable. I like using K.I.S.S. method.

Hey freebird, just made a post on your thread and didn't know you are in Virginia. What part? I'm in Fredericksburg. Outdoor growing in Virginia can be very hit and miss depending on weather. Last year we had excellent weather for the most part and I had my best outdoor harvest in 5 years of growing. The year before that not so much, lost a lot to bud rot and powdery mildew. Some pics from last summer

I so wish I had that for outdoors. Will have after doubling down on mortgage. I mean it though, wanted just like that before cannabis for vegetables. Extremely jealous and happy for you!
Done so much posting and pictures and haven’t been comfortable doing it. Not for you folks, but you know! May I say south western ish and be ok? Public trust after career in higher gov/law ish too.
Weather! Man, it just doesn’t want to warm! Wanted some out before now and weather reports more of the same for some time! Now, with continued drought, we might be able to skate through without humidity? Let’s hope.
I’m so glad you responded. I need all the friends I can get!

I tried so very hard, MacGuyvering it all the way and quite happy to do so. Did quite well to a point then realizing not going to work in the long run. I was raised with, “If you’re gonna do something, do it right!” So if a tent is almost mandatory, make it big enough for year round and maybe too many and room for veggie grow. On top of that was 23% sale along w/“Welcome” coupon.
