Morning merc, both of the maui crosses ran extra long, pretty close to 10wks, the smell on the f2 was strong, but not overpowering. Kinda piney with a touch of floral...lavender hints. Yield was in the mid range. I didn't weigh it yet as it's still in the cure stage, but it was just over a quart of flower. It should be ready in a few days.
I do have a cut that is pollinated with F3's. But it's just a lollipop, nothing to really look at. So all in all, a successful year. Thanks merc! I appreciate ya!
I trust things are going well in your tent? Well...duty reconstruction. Later

Its going to be at least another 20 days before I can harvest judging from two previous grows of the same strain. Im still hoping they put on some weight. The last two times I grew this strain I yeilded 21 oz and 18.5.

Appparently I dont know how to upload a video, I will try again later.

Im thinking 7 more days for my Gorilla Glues before the CHOP! Plants 1-4.

Got some nice frost over your way! This damn weather is crazy eh? I'm still waiting on a few lollipops to finish out before I chop, ordered some silver wire today, gonna see what colloidal silver does... I'm not really a fan of taking the males completely out of the picture, but I think the fem seeds have their place! Cheers!

Good Day F1,

Im interested in the colloidal silver as well. If you dont mind, where did you get the silver wire?

The Gorilla Glue im growing is known to have the tendency to herm if stressed to much, causing fem seeds. I managed to do one a few grows ago whiched netted me about 100 with some nice flower to boot. It did not seem to hurt the potency of the flower. I can only conclude the plant didnt herm until late into flower. I gave away several of those seeds and used some myself althoughed none of those hermed.

Merry Christmas all!!!
Merc I'm using a site called ore metals for the silver. Pretty good price for the DIY'er. The process seems pretty straight forward. I also read a report on crysall alesco as an alternative to the coloidal silver, however it is a bit too pricey for an experimental endeavor.

Blueberry Pancakes SCROG, 2 weeks past flip and getting a stretch. Happy with the full canopy coverage of available space in 2x4 tent and conservation of vertical space. Looking forward to the next 2 months.

Nice coverage Bud. It always seems like the last month dragggggggssss on forever, at least for me anyway.
Yeah. Patience wears thin, especially when it smells so good.

Question; When you go online to buy seeds they give such generalized descriptions. Do ever find sellers that offer more detailed information? I always feel like I'm taking a leap of faith that what I'm choosing is what I want.

I have only bought from crop king seeds a once a long time ago and twice after from OA Seeds. The information provided seems to be kind of close from both. The flower times were within about 2 weeks of advertised and as for the THC level, I never had it checked. OA seeds has always included some free seeds which allowed me to try Mimosa Cake Auto from fast Buds and Gorille Cookies Auto also from Fast Buds which I really enjoyed. I also have several Gorilla Glue seeds from a hermed plant however every plant grown from that plant never hermed again and all were females. I never felt comfortable paying with my credit card so I used "Cash App" on my phone and bought just enough crypto currancy to pay for my items.

Sorry to be so long winded, did this answer your question?

Four more days until expected harvest date!

Oh yeah, you got frost right there. Nice pic. I nominate this one.

So I've bought seeds from 3 different sources but besides flower times and THC/CBD levels there's never much further info. The last time I bought seeds I called the seed bank ahead of my purchase and the fellow was quite willing to talk about it but I didn't get much more. I don't know what sets this genetics apart from the others.
Let me ask this. What are the additional characteristics/phenos that seed lines have that could be easily related by seed sellers so buyers could better evaluate the offerings?

Man ordering seeds is usually a crap shoot...I have spent nearly 1k trying to find the Xmas tree bud....and I'm still looking
Yes, I agree. That's what I'm saying. "I got high hopes" but really I'm given the most generalized info to make a choice and most ads say about the same thing. I feel like I'm evaluating Elaine Benes's catalog copy entries.

As far as what more they could say is
Plant structure, terpine profile, and some grow tips...as well as some indicator of how much smell to expect.
I also like to know the lineage of the seed, and I feel that the parent plants should be tested for hlv (hope latent virus) as this can be passed down to the seed.

I generally look at the information on the two sites I mentioned earlier and on leafly for terp profiles. But as said its still a crapshoot.
The HLV test is a great idea, that would be nice. I understand there may be vast differences in phenotypes, but I'm not looking for a guarantee, just what is most common for that strain. LOL, at what they charge for seeds, they should send a sample bud! Also customer reviews with pics would be nice.

Thank you brother! I do appreciate your help! I have actually used csi humbolt seed. It was the tom hill succession of pine tar kush. When I ordered the 79 Xmas tree they where out of stock and my second choice was the ptk...I planted all 12 chose the best male from the bunch and pollinated the other 8, as well as a very sturdy maui wowie. My thought was to get the most mold resistant strains I could find. Where better to start than the only northern hemisphere rain forest? Anyways, this began my quest in breeding. I will be purchasing the Xmas tree bud. Let ya know how it spins!

Glad I could help. Definitely keep us posted on how it turns out.
Just a heads up, my order that was placed for Black Friday was just shipped on the 27th. He also has another 20% off sale going on, so it could be awhile before you get your beans.
