Post-vaporisation *Re-Heating* as in Enrico Bouchard's Sublimator was actually integrated into my LAVA concept, euh... Lets see... At least 4 years ago, euh... Wait, no. More like 6 actually, and the magic keyword i think used to be "Reversible": e.g. with reclaims and maintenance in mind. Flipping sides of a LAVACapsule working in unidirectional mode implied its aerial cannabic workload got immediately re-heated while it passed through my 2nd energized Hybrid Core, then behaving as a heated screen and hence a clean one. As a bonus such re-heating should be expected to cause the volatile droplets suspended in mid-air to heat-shrink further and consequently pass the lungs alveoli vs blood vessels barrier with more convenient ease... So, i was hoping someday the Sublimator might be adapted to become Bi-Energy, or 3 if one doesn't mind using his muscles... In any case these last 2 days were exceptional opportunities that may very well never return. There's plenty of challenge for lots of people anyway, just think recording inhalation sessions via optical probing of the cannabis output! No more steep learning curves, having even collective models to acquire operator skills fast and consequently be done with problematic coughs in record time, etc.

In any case repeat to your friends nothing from Egzoset (nor the guy behind...) was ever related to any mercantile activity, so me too i feel there won't be a fix for your Sublimator anytime soon. But who knows, in these matters no doubt you're gonna be the expert!

Well i've been lucky, as if the stars aligned...

This time there's yet another topic to present, because today i sort of feel some growing fear inspired by the powerful vertical drill. But lets 1st chain with a continuation of my previous illustrations:

That's about removing excess metal left between cuts, using 1 more hole-saw tool of ¾" (dia.), since it seems i failed to find overlapping units, and i wasn't done just yet:

You see, a « RECESSED » screw-base junction was in the plans, so it finally also required me to find a 15/16" hole-saw to enlarge the cavity so a Monobloc will eventually fit it (shown in reverse, up-side-down in center of image):

My middle-right Monobloc is the "DeLuxe PinHole" configuration type while i thought the bottom-right older cut-through version would never prove actually useful. But thanks to such tight fitting maybe i can refurbish it and render that lazy solution at least viable if absolutely necessary. Always keeping backwards-compatible compatibility in mind... So here's the result:

And, by the way, this was an opportunity for me to recycle a previously "rejected" piece (see right side). Now the recess cavity is quite ready to receive it's Screw-Base counterpart, with the Monobloc inserted inside once i've finished removing core material at a later time.

Meanwhile, i realized i wouldn't be using a plater vise for my drill press. Instead it seemed safer (and much more affordable...) just to build some custom-made support still intended to secure the rotation axis, which needs to be a top-priority in such involving craft. By chance the plater happens to be featured with a concealed recessed cavity defined by its 4 edges under it, so i was able to cut a piece of wood that fits tight in there, with 1 strong ¼" (dia.) screw in each corner to prevent horizontal (x, y) translations, as any movement could prove catastrophic...

Then one small problem remained considering the piece would be left to spin freely, although tighly restricted along the rotational axis:

Special caution remains mandatory and now both hands can stay outside the danger zone, ready to switch power OFF...

Notice the round edges of that particular piece, my former "Reject" put to good use by experimenting this alternative scenario. Of course using only sand paper won't make it spherical without enormous efforts; it's demonstrated to some point that suggests a ball-shaped profile is attainable, just not for me today - but years ago it could have nonetheless!

Too bad the inventor and manufacturer actually holding the VaporGenie patent couldn't see development potential this far.

At only 22 mm high a VG Full-Metal "Top" will allow some significant shift of the pre-heating phase toward the radiative-mode vector of a flame, diminishing exposure to convective-mode « Inlet Water » and also butane-related "contaminants" in "Plan-B" mode, while "Plan-A" induction may penetrate the assembly far enough to succeed to inject IH energy as a dry-but-clean & "packetized" power substitute, paving the way to precision dosing and more.

Its internal Monobloc cavity would look smoother if i hadn't cut my ¼" (dia.) "precision reference" (or "pilot") prematurely, next time i get a chance i must remember to preserve that most precious pilot until the very last step!

Yet, this gave me some numbers to plug in, for example:

That's raw numbers before i've removed additional material, yet a genuine wood Sphere weights about ~140 g, or a trade-off nearly one 3rd in exchange for a whole new range of experiences as "burst" mode, not to mention accessing the enhanced purity of clean-burning butane using the blue flame of a torch, perfectly suited for this Full-Metal alternative. Actually i like both my Vector KGM lighters, with 1 or 2 flames, depending on the moment..

An additional trim toward 20 mm tall would probably set weights on par, rendering wood less and less desirable in vue of the new eventually gained features. Really, "Pulse Heating" will seem vague until one has actually tried it and for this there's no substitute for the correct tool(s).

That's no perfect spheres but i could have tried better if given the opportunity. So far a rounded cylinder it is...

Some unexpected and pleasant surprize occured when i started checking for a "Monobloc" of close length to fit in, as they get cut in the customization process. It seems maybe the "Top" can be made as low-profile as 20 mm tall and weight nearly the same as for a wooden Sphere for the VG Classic, my impression being the crude early "PinHole" system prototype was a "reject" in spring 2019, i think. But a seamingly paradoxal phenomenon occured performing my preliminary test with "reclaims", which reminded me of hashish with pleasant "floral" qualities. Not at all like the tar/cauldron of ashtrays... Combined to my Vector KGM 2 torch-flames butane lighter i'd have to say this is probably a valid entry point for solid concentrates, and perhaps well suited somehow for CBD too.

Lets not forget the whole concept is modular and integrates both a sessions recorder that physical cotton samples may even complete if one wants to draw a plot of ritual profiles across some complex spectrum of noble molecules, to account for the "entourage" effect, etc. It may be tempting to evaluate collected samples at a later time, etc., etc. The set of butane torch-lighter + Full-Metal cust. VG Top + PinHole twin (on-top/handle) system provides an almost organic experience, more like playing a wind instrument than dealing with a noisy bag for 3 minutes like the Volcano. Each reconfiguration seemed revealing a character of its own, this lazy/lousy (crude) straight cut-through solution happens to keep functional despite the permanent dual pressure loss, i'm puzzled... Yet i must admit i've observed that doing a reclaim was a treat compared to my everyday sessions; variations on a theme can save the day.

In absence of a "Direct On-Top Core PinHole" located under the tip of my finger i found the heat felt harder, dryer as it resulted in hot-spotting significantly faster. I tought more fresh air would tame it down, but instead it caught fire at an increased rate... The solution is possibly to seek some trade-off by performing a thinner twin-cut or cutting only one side, so i've transferred an Hybrid Core into a Monobloc with my "Single-Cut On-Top PinHole Path" initially mentioned almost 3 years ago this month.

In any case "Pulse Heating" appears more accessible using a 2-flames torch lighter and going Full-Metal proved most suitable for such goal.

The aluminium crafting made some progress but it's not quite ready for publication while i've actually got lucky toying with something radically different:

Lets call it my « Flex-Valve ». It function is to pinch the cannabic path during the pre-heating phase, building up a bit of decompressive force to prove useful when that silicone tube returns to its straight-line iddle state, e.g. with the path unrestrained again. Anyway that's only part of a double-purpose scenario where the other part is about taming down the vacuum force in presence of "impurities" from the butane lighter and tank: the flame only requires a minimal evacuation force of clean-burning butane exhaust to avoid self-extinction. Pre-heating is down to 1 second, by the way...

Ah, and it's finally verified to "work" without the 17-Holdes metal Disc. In addiction, our local "legal" (SQdC) finally started to offer some "concentrate" (<30 %...) which looks much the same as wax but is labelled "Live Rosin", intended for "dabbing" i presumed. In any case the Top-of-Bowl Screen can assume the additional task to serve as support for a piece of it no larger than a small fly. So, the wax thing sticks on my bowl's roof with shredded dry flower below, separate by a thin layer of air... It turns out the ToB Screen works in conductive mode to vaporize the waxy bit while convective heat simultaneouly floods the vegetal substrate, carrying away noble molecules that got just released. Overall i occasionally experienced sort of a celestial alignment of stars when suddenly i felt having old memories of real cannabis again, at last! IMO it seems such process combines noble molecules spectrum differently than ordinary blending so far. In short the 2 products scenario put back some of the fun into what's been too dull for too long (the SQdC fights "banalization" and even a risk of appearance of it)... So every boost of aroma/taste appreciation counts! Plus, the dab contributes in lowering caughing incidence.

Cleaning in "Plan-B" mode could become more acute with use, though IH Driving possibly combining ultra-sonic shaking + Burst Heating might delay the need for maintenance while providing phantom "reclaims" in the process...

Well, that's a revisited version of the initial « Prototyping Platform » and it confirms my intuitive preference for this particular device in 2013 as a result of VaporGenie's materials selection: space-age Silicon Carbide "DuoCell" foam.

If only the manufacturer could accept the idea of an upgrade!

No mentions of the context, at least that's coherent with some confusion over what that challenges meant exactly. Brace yourselves, in my case that's still an invitation to « Independant Duplication & Peer Review », almost a slogan! The intent was to share knowledge 1st-hand when eventual brave emulators show up , which never occured - maybe because this would implicitly void the manufacturer's warranty despite an obligation to pay for a legit product before turning it into some common "Prototyping Platform", to ease comparisions. Too bad Dan Steinberg didn't seem enthousiast at the « next step » ideas of Egzoset when i addressed him one of my proud illustrations.

Oh well, planet earth didn't stop spinning meanwhile. Here's the good "news", only just a couple years later, euh...

It's somewhat reminescent of the Loto Labs era. 1-battery but slim cigar shape now featured with more mature device called the 'IQOS ILUMA'. Imagine, it responds to tap command and responds with haptic feedback!! So far so good, though i'm much more curious about its associated IH-ready e-Cigarette the 'Terea SmartCore Stick': each cigarette now incorporates a jetable IH susceptor INSIDE! That means each pack comes with 20 "blade" susceptors awaiting to get refurbished... Kapiche?



Basically this solution serves as yet another conduction-mode demonstration (of what remains to be done)! Lets hope their alloy metalugy can be recycled elsewhere; personally i'd use them as the "ribon" in my concentric topology, the one with an SiC Foam puck inside so to convert the conductive/radiative energy vectors into a convetive/radiative temporary heat source, once that is "recharged" in a matter of seconds (e.g. less than the timeout delay of my IH cooker in absence of a workload). Etc., etc.

Enough said, i feel most confident readers will agree the best way to communicate on the subject remains visual, by simply showing it - inside out, literally:

The enlargement of my Full-Metal customized "top" now makes room for optional support of a containment barrier, to prove specially useful in the eventual Near-Symetric configuration where a fumet collector resides in the middle, between the 2 tops exactly...

My full-metal customized VG top still remains to get finished but its illustrative purpose is fulfilled already, more or less i think. It was about shielding human skin & furniture from the intense heat temporarily stored inside, which other concepts didn't completely solve for the full duration of their pre-heating cycle. In mine the huge total mass can be evaluated around 110 grams for a LAVACapsule scenario, so far, but it had to be kept retro-compatible with the original source of inspiration created by Dan Steinberg.

Below we can see his selection of 60 ppi "tetrakaidecahedron" Duocel SiC Foam for the VaporGenie pipes (Classic or Bronze Sherlock), manufactured by ERG Materials & Aerospace Corp., pictured below with a metal shell possibly made of SS430 or similar:

The idea here was to convert radiative & conductive into a convective source though i still needed to draw how i'd want to avoid wasting over half the radiative vector into empty space surrounding it, which is what happens with DynaVap-style solutions. As time passed new materials became available, in my present case zirconia, SiC or SS beads open the door to new possibilities, so this proposal can finally have a conclusion:

At the moment it's not too clear to me how fresh air would reach below that red IH-driven susceptor (near the screen end), e.g. deep inside my top/sphere, but it would have to pass through some matrix of 2.5 mm (dia.) beads and reverse direction at the flame-catcher before entering a central SiC puck where most of the conductive heat is already getting stored with some radiative component - perhaps a retractable flux-concentration plunger could also double as a seal... The susceptor then can take full advantage of its wireless nature by allowing its total burial inside, away from the outside world and yet reflecting temperature via the Curie effect - provided the IH driver is built to "scan" its workload, not just inject energy estimated by a blind timer; hence addition of a permanent continuous magnet field would also invite detection of tap commands via microphonics. All done by minimizing influence from hot-metal surface contact in the cannabic path so to attempt to please purists who want to see glass everywhere (airflow causes heat to "focuss" away from walls).

Well, there's a lot of experimentation to perform and to me it's become mostly academic despite the passion causing me to refuse to abandon all hopes completely. It doesn't matter who does it, the set of restrictions won't change for a very long time and the solutions with it. The idea may very well happen to survive all by itself, all it takes is planting the seed as « it's already been done before, just not yet! »...

It is, that's why i keep posting updates once in a while. Thanks for the touching cheers, unfortunately i've not been able to inspire independent duplication despite the persistence while my opportunity window actually passed years ago: i'm now living with other elders in a place where such activity is an issue... Nonetheless i always attempted to keep all resource requirements minimal so to accommodate as many potential candidates as possible.

This is only a conceptual extension to the intellectual property patented by Dan Steinberg, founder and owner of VaporGenie. My angle was focused on hacking come pre-existing product to exploit as a "Prototyping Platform" meant to preset a few common variables, to help save time assuming it would be desirable to build on previous work - and it was! My main selection criteria was the SiC Foam, chemically inert just like glass, then finding out that it came from a space age manufacturer quickly confirmed Steinberg's intuition to my entire satisfaction. It feels somewhat regrettable the recent arrival of zirconia beads was too late for me and yet even good things must come to an end eventually.

Only if my collection of illustrations and testimonies can survive long enough to plant a seed in the mind of others with sufficient capabilities, for example with an interest into electro-erosion that would greatly simplify alignment of my internal PinHole channel inside VG's Classic Aluminium handle, or designing an IH driver that "kicks" the resonator assembly then listens at back EMF echoes to detect temperature-dependant variations, etc. In short each of these challenges will take time and a single person as i just can't assume them all: it's got to be the fruit of a cooperation! So i feel grateful today for your feedback, this is some fair proof that it's possible to reach a few experimenters when they're ready.

Another season passed so an update wouldn't hurt while i happend to have pushed it 1 step further:

Six tiny holes were started during a previous operation when my drill bit still didn't risk to slip around for being too close to an edge. Partial enlargement to 9/16" (dia.) using an auto-centering (9 sizes, 1/16" increments) step drill allowed "rails" to begin to emerge; these are intended to prevent rotation of the customized VG MonoBloc once inserted. As before i have a hard time planning the next stage, at least this enables me to trim down mass toward that of a preliminary aluminium donut, now measuring ~51.7 g with a variance around 1 % i think. I was most pleased recently when YouTube finally put the HerbalTherm 3TM on my radar, which helped to confirm the basic intuition that mass could be rendered useful in preventing skin burns:

Which when combined to Pulse Heating can only lead to improved protection.

Meanwhile i've also been collecting numbers related to IH drivers, especially those featured with Power Throttling as in the Battery-Free Ganz Flare (120 Watts), the Camouflet Inductor (300 Watts), the Vestratto Vader/Forge (240 Watts) and the YllVape YLL IH 2.0 (50 Watts). All of them having a "boost" mode, except i think Camouflet's offer which comes with a linear (analog-style) rotary button.

One customized VG full-metal "Top" was evaluated to range around 100 Joules many years ago, 200 J for my LAVACapsule configuration and possibly a little more if the bowl requires some additional complement under the form of radiative/conductive heat. In any case pre-heat time can be kept short enough for such setup to allow the generation of a highly-localized "hot spot" in each Hybrid Core while there's no time for energy dispersion to cause significant concern. Then there's the matter of self-moisturization quite likely to require secondary cores so to evaporate tiny amounts of e-Liquid, but i don't foresee myself performing that sort of improvement intended to address coughing issues. All i can do is argue that even at, say 1000 Joules, that's still going to remain well below the symbolic 10 seconds mark in term of pre-heating. Meanwhile we learned about post-vaporisation heat-shrinking (à la Enrico Bouchard) in Vestratto's Tornado consuming as much as 3250 Joules! A thought that refreshes my conviction that this is just a humble start, « que sera sera »!

The day after i decided i had waited long enough to see how it looked with Monoblocs inside and both tops assembled into a LAVACapsule configuration:

My 2024 LAVACapsule measures 2" (L.) x 1½" (dia.) and weights ~115 g +/- 13 % with cores installed and ready (but not shown here), including the Hybrid version(s). Its weight could have been trimmed down if i had pushed this crafting further toward more rounded shapes, by implementing the PinHole features and finally by removing material in non essential spots. Flame Catcher apertures remain to get enlarged so to fit their Monoblocs better in comparison to my previous left-side realization(s); a yet-to-come publication will illustrate the median section but i wanted my timing to coïncide with Halloween...

This snapshot has been overdue for quite a long while:

That's part of a patient process about collecting numbers so i can begin to think of my next schematization, since the outer dimensions are better defined at last. The view on my LAVACapsule's mid-section suggests a few ways to couple a flexible PVC tube and mouthpiece to it in the converging configuration, e.g. where fresh air enters from both ends with the cannabic vapour being collected at the center. Having no access to electro-erosion i can only rely on the reader's imagination in order to envision an IH-compatible bowl featured with tiny exit holes all around it central perimeter, possibly covered with cotton to collect a sample to match optional optic "scanning" specific to each session. Once the vapour has entered the collector's cavity it stays behind a containement wall (not shown), which needs to be punctured at one point so to plug the extension PVC tube, for inhalation. The twin 90 ° change of direction passing from the bowl to its co-axial collector cavity is expected to cause some cooling turbulence, then more as a result of the passage through cotton.

A converging scenario hardly seems compatible with torch lighters as this would involve a pair of separate flames at each side, while in IH driven mode the solution appears with evidence once the addition of magnetic flux concentration is added to such concept, provided it's done with two mobile plungers reaching both 17-holes Metal Discs via their associated Flame Catcher apertures. Once energy is injected these plungers retract to allow handling of the LAVACapsule, which means the power source always stays away from the consumer's face, an inherent protective measure which e-Cig users don't have. The inhalation tube will only add 7~15 g or so to the total weight, yet that still ain't going to be lightweight but absolute protection always came 1st on top of my priorities; maybe if it's integrated to glassware then such detail becomes moot.

Ah, and while i think of accessories, in its unidirectional configuration the median cavity happens to be available for electronics... This means one could want to install a trio of LEDs powered by a super-capacitor itself charged during the IH power injection. Doing so would enable the LAVACapsule to generate its own light to enhance the bong ritual, with light conduits emerging into the Flame Catcher then acting as a reflector, which fulfils another long-term design rule of mine: to superpose functions while doing more with less in "KISS" style.

Every year at Halloween it's time to witness a same political freak show, at least for those of us who still pay attention: mass-media goes berzerk while the "elites" get excited over the dangers of "marihuana" candies laced with fentanyl... Which is a reminder how « légaleezation » failed nations of the world thanks to victorian-age stigma kicking stronger than ever in public institutions, even families that keep normalizing alcohol as a way to further demonize the noble molecules.

There's not a chance i can forget (nor forgive) the multiple treasons of "4-20" in 2016, especially at UN's « UNGASS » event, months after bigot prohibitionnists had gathered at the FCTC/COP6 behind closed doors in Moscow (Russia...) to sabotage it, so to attempt to destroy the health-wise potential of smoker alternatives: vaporizers, electronic cigarettes and water pipes (Ref.: 4.4.1, 4.4.2 and 4.4.3)! All because some brave politicians aiming for the low-hanging fruit are actually obsessed with their own image, pretending to "protect" the civil world, In The Name Of Children. Yano...



M'well i won't pretend being among the $pe¢iali$t$/expert$ who thought they were the only guys worthy enough to act as architects of such a sad imposture. So tonight lets have a different type of entertainment. I convey the reader to enter a fantasy universe i tagged VaporaOK! E.G. some fantasy born from my creative contraption of these 2 words: "Vaporism" & "Karaoké"...

Who never heard about karaoke nights before? It's a social game involving a large display, a stage, one of many players and a public audience whatching their individual performances as a cursor moves on that screen.

VaporaOK would be the piece of software behind it, designed to share vaporist sessions but also designed to promote responsible emancipation via an electronic "coach" compatible with exploratory dimensions aiming for self-awareness, even vaguely inspired by « Harm Reduction » though through a very different angle: the multiplication of healthier opportunities by experiencing a catalog of consumption profiles collected in a knowledge base built by out community itself for a change.

Four domains centered on cannabis enjoyment would be this application's main target: personal use, playful social animation, medicinal/medical assistance and research. Such digital coach must evidently include some vaporist simulator to train newbies before they go for the real thing. I might look just like a video game where only a pair of keyboard keys or analog game controller triggers are needed to emulate a mix of inhalation force (pressure & speed) moderated by "inlet" fresh air injection (as in my VG pipe customization)... Records which qualified during practice would also enrich the collective data and the obvious requirement here is about managing it all, the answer being through an "Hybrid Unique Identifier" integrating a timestamp and possibly some contextualization item (Alphanumeric, Client, Event, File, Hospital, Journalized, Karaoke, List, Message, Name, Postal Code in foreign countries, Reference, Universal, Vapor, Watts, Address, Commerce, Special), you name it.

Sharing with an audience can rely on QR Codes considering there's a large screen on stage already; basically the HUI has to be generated the instant inhalation began, when done said HUI can complete a short web addresses such as http :// vaporaok . org / coach / for internet publication. Temporal granularity of 5 seconds will do fine and accommodate decades of data gathering, plus an option to manually re-define its reference date until the end of eternity...

The limitation with QR Codes is optical range: the longer the characters strings the less reliable it becomes, hence our need for an HUI compressed with high-order numerical bases. No big geal, the one real source of concern then is man, because factors like plain text visual copy/interpretation and printing/OCR can go wrong. That's why the numerical base order is restricted as for the canadian Postal Code where visually ambiguous letters were simply banned...

Anyway, forget the technicalities, my point is most people have what's required right into their pocket, equiped with an HD camera! In other words the world is VaporaOK-ready!!

After all, hor hard is it to also generate a BarCode specific to that BarCode?! Which means it would become all to easy and convenient just to stick this type of label on a vial where to insert the vaporist sample before it's sent for further expertise collection. Moreover, give it one more decade of 2 and i bet we'll also be able to carry portable cannabis analyzers around!

That would be then end of subjective guessing, numbers would talk at last. All meant as an inclusive approach serving personal empowerment & growth, integrating a socialization dimension via ritual sharing with health-wise concepts as a background, to bridge the gap separating individual vs clinical environments with fairly bold signs of participatory community involvement.

Biofeedback rooted in audiovisual resources would be the mater key to vaporist coaching, an average VaporaOK event might start by introducing participants about to enter the ritual in expectation of a review, etc. The [Replay]/[Record] button would fuel this immersive social animation aided by simulations and/or real-time sessions validated through multisensory such strategy.

Past the warm-up stage novices then would measure against popular champions and contribute with their own data themselves, thanks to QR Code indexation. Before they leave the stage players would be offered to express impressions, possibly to document the event further. In the end suggestions for adjustment or exploration would follow as a conclusion, in hope to inspire later debates when key moments are revisited, or more detailed explanations provided to the attention of forum members after they accessed the collective database. Etc., etc...

Overall VaporaOK’s core mission even sounds compatible with business models of our capitalist universe. After all, commercial partners might be pleased to access such privileged knowledge base, perhaps even engough to want to host the server themselves... In the relentless industry of vaporizer manufacture there's quite a competitive market waiting impatiently for innovation and its niche opportunities as a bonus. It may only prove to be a stoner fantasy at the moment but someday VaporaOK-like ventures might very well become a strategic imperative, when Prohibition 2.0 is finally a thing of the past.

Almost four months passed after my presentation of the VaporaOK ecosystem, so it felt gradually urgent to illustrate what's needed to make it pulse. I walked some long path since March 2013 actually, but that "17-Holes Metal Disc" of mine has finally matured enough to be worth this present update.

Here comes another novel thermal architecture, one with bi-energy convective « Flux Torsion » that departs from our usual ready-made vaporist heaters:

You’re looking at a stackable disc system featured with floating thermal insulation doubling as anti-phase snapfit alignment support. The purpose for this layout is to prevent direct peripheral airflow; a change of direction on the side promotes an elongated (horizontal) path of the convective vector inside a porous matrix of silicon carbide foam:

Both center holes form a direct channel for the radiative vector while the inner-orbit ones are being partially blocked, so the overall effect resembles a thermal lense where transit delay increases with distance to the spinning axis, so to speak.

Cradle pads could seem like a challenge to manufacture, so i finally present this hook pads alternative which is well suited for a stamping press. It's a retro-compatible 14 mm (dia.) version designed to fit the VaporGenie pipe:


Another improvement is the embossed clearance ribs, added to protect a health-wise finish like Ni + TiN + Au passivation, as it turns out SiC Foam can be abrasive. After that nothing else calls for more touch up work IMO, it's complete at last! The A/B mechanical indexation holes are retained to accommodate stacking scenarios, hook pads still keep the open ring in place, free to expand or compress in both the Snug-Fit and Snap-Fit setups:


Such level of mechanical freedom invites a transition to glass tubes, which would actually prove ideal for induction heat. That makes Inconel X-750 a perfect choice for this mission: heat-tolerant spring-loaded non-magnetic support...
