I'm a little confused here. So your concern is that you feed with a ph of 5.8 but the runoff reads 5.3? That is perfectly normal for runoff to be lower than the nutrient solution (because the nutrients that are still present in the medium attribute to making the nutrient solution more acidic when you feed, so the ph drops in the runoff water). But checking runoff water is something that is usually only done in soil grows. It's a method of checking the soil's ph to make sure that it's still in range. If the runoff is more than a point low then you know the soil ph is low. If it becomes higher than the ph of what you feed it then it's too high. I don't test my runoff so I'm in no way an expert on the subject, but you get the point. Just keep feeding with that 5.8 nutrient solution and the coco will adjust it's ph on it's own. Don't worry about the runoff.
