I’ve had this problem my last 2 grows. Happens in veg and bud. Only happens under my QBs. HPS it’s never happened. What could this be?

im a noob but does humidity and everything else remain constant following the light switch? they look hot and looks to me like calmag is low. maybe has transpiration issues so its overheating? idk

Humidity is consistent. 40% in veg (I need a humidifier) and about 50% in bud. My rooms run cool like 64F at night to about 72f with lights on. This only happens to plants directly under my QBs.

This grow I put them 20in or higher with my hlg 135w in veg and 30in or high for my hlg 600h in bud. It happened again in both veg and bud. But they have never done this with my hps or my cob light. All the same strain. Happens to the top half of the plant. Not always the very top though.

and id use a laser thermometer if you haven't already. check leaf temps see if they get hotter than the other lights. the laser thing is only like $20 its not a special expensive tool

maybe try some cal-max & nitrogen and back off on the feedings ? some guys with more skills than i will show up to help you bro.

based on those pics here is some cut and paste help for you. like i said above Cal-Mag should help along with maintaining a stable PH. temps and RH should drop at night temps yes as it follows the cycadia 'sic' cycle of the plant. the amount depends on what stage of growth the plants are as well as LC , i.e. 18-6, 12-12, or even a 24 cycle. try the cal-mag and cut back any dead or dying leafs.

A light green or yellow coloring will begin to show on the veins and edges of the lower & older leaves – this is one of the classic signs of cannabis magnesium deficiency. You may also see 'red stems.'

Magnesium is a mobile nutrient, which means that the plant can move it from old leaves to new leaves.

The pH being too high or too low at the roots is the most common reason to see purple or red stems! (or any deficiency)

When you get a canoe'd or taco'd reaction from the leaves, it is often heat related. Light bleaching looks different than what you have, as it generally bleaches the chlorophyll, leaving a whiteish coloring before eventually dying. Nute overages look different as well... perhaps the new LEDs are too much for the plants.

Temps seem to be too low during the day. You need to run the room hotter with led lights since they throw less heat toward the canopy. Leaf temps are usually about 3 degrees lower than the room temp so your plant leaves are barley reaching 70 degrees which is hurting photosynthesis. Less heat means less photosynthesis which means less growing and less uptake of nutrients. The “tiger” striping almost looks like ph fluctuation, although a mg deficiency is also pretty common under led lights as well. I would monitor runoff ph and ppms to see the range you are in and try to raise the temperature in the room during the day. With led’s I keep my room at 83-85 degrees during the day so the leaf temperature stays at roughly 78-82 degrees

Yeah this makes sense to me. My veg rooms runs at 69-72f. The hlg 600h I use is bud runs cool too. 83-85f seems hot as hell but worth a try.

They say 82 degrees is peak temperature for photosynthesis in plants. With led’s the leaf temperature is usually like 3 degrees below what the room is so that’s why running the room a bit hotter is good for leds. With hps the leaf temperature is usually within a degree of the room temp from what I’ve seen and you generally want your leaf temps around 77-82 degrees especially in veg

Just got the room to 82f took a 1500w heater. But that makes me mad that I spent alot of money on these hlg 600h’s. Because now at 82f I and this extra 1500w its probably just as efficient as my old 1000w lights were. 😕
