Went down stairs this morning and after burping jars I have actually found myself in a situation where I can go outside and enjoy a beautiful Colorado day. No, not a day of rest...have to finish putting the veggie garden to bed, one last mowing of the lawn and wash the truck. Yesterday put manure down and will till it in today and forget about it until spring. Should run errands this afternoon but thinking I will just hang at the house and work on my tan for next summer. ha ha!

appt with the disability psychologist....my disabilities are physical not psychological.....Dont get me wrong I still flinch when I drive sometimes due to dumbasses, still have dreams of the impact and HATE car crash commercials, but my head is fine its my body thats broken.....So bottom line to get my SSI I have to go see a shrink, go figure

Other than that, need to do like Putembk and get the veggies done and ready for next season. May take a few cuts today, then cook a nice dinner for my ladies birthday

I think that's a good thing, urban....especially if "the doctor" (s) are prescribing you pain meds/narcotics. It blows me away to think about the years I was addicted to doctor prescribed pain meds and was warring inside myself over the addictive process and my overall quality of life....yet...nobody ever asked me how my head was doing....as if it wasn't connected to the rest of my body. (and with all the pills, it often...wasn't!)

For as >smrt< as them fuckers are...they sure iz dum sumtimes....know wut i meen?

It's the WEEKEND!!! Got to get everything done today as lots happening this weekend. Daughter coming down from the Northern part of the city for dinner tonight. Tomorrow hooking up with members of the farm to exchange some genetics and a few beers, might smoke some as well. Always fun to sit down and have a beer with fellow growers and chew the fat. Gotten to be one of my favorite things to do. Sunday....Football...enough said. Drink, smoke and root for the home team. Monday cutting down Super Lemon Haze and MK....right after that the Dairy Queen is coming down. All these new flavors to try....num.
Having so much fun I can't stand myself.

Oh, tomorrow's gonna be a really fun day for a few people here.

I'm going to dip my toe into the eBay seller waters. Been doing eBay for... since I ever got online, but only ever as a buyer, not a seller. Any tips?

Been a seller for 13 or so years, good descriptions and good products and you will be golden. I still have 100% positive feedback

What am I doing? NOTHING, sitting up at the lake enjoying the sunshine and gonna collect some manzanita ;)

Beautiful, urban.

Same plan here today as yesterday. Get out there and get something done while the weather is nice....

More log work...some tree cuttin'....and mass doobage...

Right now I'm wading into a good cup and a morning fatty of Purple Cheddar. WAKE AND BAKE KIDS!

Dewd! Which lake is that? Ain't Tahoe, the waters are too quiet (and the wrong color). Looks nice and private and idyllic. :D

My plan today is to get my shit ready for the trip down south next week. Attending a farewell luncheon for my friend since her husband's been reassigned. Not happy about the location of the reassignment, it's across the border from Ciudad Juarez, but it is what it is and he's not ready to retire yet.

Picking up one Buff Orphington pullet (3 months old) to add to my small chicken flock of 3, sold and delivering a 100 gallon propane tank on wheels and later painting my new chicken coop once the sun warms things up. Later I will continue to read up on raising goats for milk as I plan to get two Nigerian does for raw goats milk.

My oldest son was, around the age of 9-10, morbidly, uncommonly fascinated with the Donner Party, and the movie, Alive (the Uruguayan soccer team that crashed in the Andes). He used to ask me some rather interesting questions about human meat. For example, what would it be called? I told him it depends on whom you ask. I hear the natives in Papua-New Guinea say it tastes a lot like cassuary bird. I've never eaten cassuary bird, I doubt it tastes anything like chicken.

I've got to pack and finish taking pix/organizing stuff. The dresser method of tomato ripening is working pretty well, so Dave's canning some rather flavorless tomatoes. I guess it makes *that* much of a difference, but this year's Brandywines are bland tasting. The heirloom rainbows are very good, but nowhere nearly as good as vine ripened. I'd rather have somewhat flavorless, but edible tomatoes than cracked and spoiled tomatoes I have to feed to the chickens or compost, though.

"Long pork" is what humans have been called. Apparently, according to several cannibalistic societies, we're the OTHER other white meat!

Small wonder then, that humans get so many medical parts from pigs, like heart valves. We even have mostly similar blood factors. This also explains why viruses that live in pig populations often cross over to human ones.

Another crappy day along the front range above Denver. Will spend most of the morning doing a trash run, cleaning pots and starting to train the next round of cuts. Winter is slowly setting in and the garden is in full operation mode and there is always something going on there. Great way to pass the time during the dark, cold Colorado winter. Growing to me is as self fulfilling as spending time on the river. And since the rivers are going to start icing up soon....guess what I have planned to the next several days, weeks....months.
