Hey nuk , your not close yet , you need to " weave" the growing tips , grow , tuck , braid them thru the scrog net , when they fill the net , maybe a month month and a half , flip em , but continue for a week to tuck the flowering shoots around and under ..... Then you will have a screen of green bud canopy

Also been awhile since I did a scrog but we used to use chicken wire with a tighter box pattern than the netting your using , I may be out of touch but that's how I remember doing it ....

about how much space inbetween each cola should i aim for? i plan on having maybe 8-12 total main colas

I would flip to flower when that trellis net gets about 80% full. The rest will fill in during the first couple weeks of flower. Colas can be pretty close as long as you got some air moving around them. Just never touching. I would say about one would go nice in each of the squares of the trellis. Shoot for a nice even canopy all the way across.

My current grow im aiming for 8 to 12 main colas also. I made my screen huge on my last grow and it was hard work keeping it tidy. I averaged 6 oz a plant which was nice but there were loads of small heads. Im convinced I would have yielded just as much with a smaller canopy and more focus on 'X' amount of heads. So that's what I'm doing this time. Looking at yours I'd definately give them a few more weeks to fill out a bit. Theres a lot of wasted space. You've trained them nicely though

You can flip now. By time they quit stretching, the canopy is full. Or you can veg another month and be so over crowded you have to defoliate, and only get a little more yield. Not worth the extra month imo.

okay, i see what you mean.. thats what i want to avoid, its a 2x2x4 tent so space is a problem.. youre saying i should flip sometime this week instead of waiting a full month? this is the most recent picture of them (10 minutes ago)

thats not bad, im trying to avoid small pop corns by pruning and only leaving the biggest ones to keep growing.. thats how i figured 8-12 main colas since i topped them at 4 nodes

Or like this guy said. Mostly full, stretch will fill in the rest. I can't speak to the above statements about veg time vs. yield but I'm sure he knows more than me so I'd go with it.

Blessings

just curious as this is my first indoor grow in general.. i should wait until the inner colas are the same size as the outter colas prior to flipping?

First off, right term is branches. They will be colas eventually. (sorry, couldn't resist). Second, your netting is much too large. Chicken wire size, about 2x2 is best. Pl..ants look pretty good. Weave the branches into the net. Under and over, under and over. Lot of good tutorials out there. When the net is about 80% full, go ahead and flip them. It's a longer veg, but well worth it. You will have different branch diameters, but all about the same height. Keep weaving until about 10 days in flower. Go underneath the net and take off every leaf, every branch that didn't make it through the net.
About 4 weeks into flower, trim the bottom third of the branches above the net. Like lollypopping, but not quite as radical. Good airflow over and under the net. Now watch them turn into colas. The first time, you'll wonder why you did it any other way. In a 7x7 tent, with 8 plants I produced 50 oz in 13 weeks in hydro. First scrog with 6 plants I produced almost twice that in 17 weeks. You do the math.
Good luck

Thank you! ive been kind of lost lol im a probably flip them now then because space is going to be an issue if they grow more than expected
