White Widow 400w Grow.

Thanks guys. I agree, no H2O2 unless necessary. I have not used +life. I am using mycorrhizae at each stage of transplant. Also the VooDoo Juice Awesome. Those are great are you in Coco or soil?

70/30 GH coco brick / perlite.
That's what I though. Look into a weekly coco tea. There is many many different cheap ways or just a jar of 20$ +LIFE. Keep that microbial life thriving and it's like a mini flush every week. Really helps from getting build ups and lock outs. Made a night and day difference fore me and I was using the same nutes as you before. Voodoo juice is AWESOME. but you need to keep that life alive thru the Grow.
Just a thought. Everything looks great!

I’ll definitely look into that. Thanks bro.

Transplanted last night. I use Mykos mycorrhizae and made sure I had enough run off. Then put them on the timer for 2, one minute feedings a day, 12 hours apart. After the pots fill with roots I’ll start more frequent feedings.

That's pretty much how I do it. Once in final pots (for me 6" square pots after solo cup) I feed twice daily. Once at lights on and once 12 hours later.
Once in flower I up it gradually until I am feeding 4 times a day.
With coco I've found the more feedings you can get in a day the better. That's why I run the 1/2 gallon 6" pots.
More feedings = more oxygen. The more you can feed the closer you get to real hydro and the growth speeds up exponentially. I do a weekly tea feeding on Sunday which acts as a mini flush and I feed as often as I can.

I just ran those same seeds and I used those same nutes for most of the Grow. I'll be watching. Any questions let me know.
Hey Bro, so I’m noticing a lot of ph drift with the sensi grow coco nutes. Like a full point up in 24 hours. It is ph perfect technology, but I’m only using them at half strength at the moment, so I’m assuming that’s why it’s not holding at 5.7.

Did you use them at 1/2 rate too, and if so did you have a lot of ph drift?

Ya I had a lil trouble with it at first. I talked to the reps a couple times
Based on their recommendations and I hat I found work d bestvwas using them at full strength and NEVER adjust the ph.
Adjusting the ph will throw it all out of whack the buffers are designed to make nutrient available in a much wider range so even if it fluctuates don't adjust the ph.

Ok, I’ll mix at full strength next res change. Thanks man!

Update: I think all remaining plants are looking well. I moved #5 into the tent, but I think I’m going to leave her in the solo cup. Just as an experiment. My cat bit one of her leaves (bad kitty) but I think she’ll be fine. She is a slow grower though. Which is why I’m not using her in the main run. #4 grew about an inch and died for no apparent reason. Budded serrated leaves but never pushed them. Then leaned over and turned a pale green color. Pulled her at day 8 of veg. This is day 11 of veg (day 19 from seed). Happy growing!

Update: Veg day 15, (day 23 from seed)

I’m going to try to update this every week at res change. They look good I think. WW#2 has some spotting. I think it’s from ph fluctuations or needing stronger nutes. More than likely from ph. I’ve had to stay on top of it every day to make sure it doesn’t drift too high. I think as I use stronger doses of the base nute, ph drift will become less of a problem. Still feeding 2 times a day. Starting a 1.0-1.2 ec solution today. Mix contained;

Pro-Silicate
Sensi Grow A&B
VooDoo Juice
B-52
SLF-100

I’ve also decided that even though I have good tap water (28ppm), and I let it sit out. Now that I’m growing in a more hydroponic media, it’s time to get an RO system. That will be here in a few days. I’ll use a 35 gal trash can (that I have not used for garbage) as the res. I’ll just pump water from that as needed. I got the HydroLogic 150 stealth RO, with the upgraded carbon filter. It should be more than enough for my needs. Here are the ladies.

I got my RO water system all set up yesterday. I was a little hesitant on buying one as my water is pretty soft, and I didn’t think I needed it. That lasted until I topped off my res the first time. I noticed my EC had climbed so I topped off with 2 gallons of RO water. The EC came back in range and the PH didn’t move at all. My tap water, even left out for days, would move it up a half point or so. Very cool, happy I got one.

On a side note, WW#2 had fallen on her stem, I guess is how I would put it. She’s just getting bigger and couldn’t support the weight. I gently picked her up and made her a little cradle stand out of garden wire to support the stem until she gets stronger. Within a few hours she had righted herself to the light and looking fine. I am using silicate but just started, and they’ve only had a few feeding so far.

Update: Veg day 21, (day 29 from seed)

Still looking healthy. #2 is starting to support herself better. #1 is growing like a weed (Ha, get it). She was pushing her 5th node so I topped her. I also took a side pic so you could see the node spacing. I’ll let the other two catch up for a few days and then top them too. Mixed up a new res of:

Pro-Silicate
SLF-100
Sensi Coco Grow A&B (full recommend strength)
B-52

EC flashes 1.6-2.0 on my Truncheon. PH was 6.4, but I think that was due to the Pro-Silicate raising it up. I PH it back to 5.7. I’m interested to see if it stabilizes there. I also adjusted the drippers to wide open. Flushed plants with the new solution to decent run off. And here they are..

Yeah, silicon supplements can raise PH awfully fast. They also can be fed pretty heavy though so quite a few people use them as a PH up and with it not taking much doesn't cause too much of a build up in most cases. In terms of stability I've never used that mix of nutes or brand of silicon but I know when I started using silicon in my setup quite a few years ago it seemed to help keep things stable for longer.

Plants are looking good. Nice nodal spacing so far. Keep it up!

So I’m noticing that the solo cup plant (#5) is developing like the other three, just smaller. She’s being treated just like her sisters, just smaller. Smaller pot size, smaller feed volume. Mostly because she was a slow grower from the start. Probably won’t flower her though. Not enough room in the tent. I’m trying to pass her off to a friend to finish, but he’s not set until yet for indoor. Oh well, I guess I just let it work itself out. Here is a pic of the node spacing of #5. Kinda cool.

#1 and #5 side by side. Hard to believe they are from the same seed order and all cracked at the same time. I guess this is why we crack more seeds then we plan to run. Which plant would you rather grow out? ;)

I picked up some of this stuff for my microbiology in the coco. I’ll use it as a weekly mini flush. Anyone have any experience with it? It smells like sulfur, but that means it’s the good stuff I guess.

Grow update coming tomorrow.....

Update (begin week 5 veg)

I know I said I was going to veg for 5 weeks, but I may have overestimated the growth rate from seed. I think I’m going to let them veg a little longer. I want the net almost full before I flip to flower. Right now they’re not even big enough to reach the net. So I will continue veg after this week. It’s ok....I can wait.

As for the plants themselves, they are looking healthy if I do say so myself. I topped #2&3 a few days ago. About two days after I had topped #1. They are all bushing out nicely. I decided to make some drip rings, instead of the stakes. I was concerned about dry spots and uneven watering after they are in the 3gal. The rings have 4 source points, so it all gets watered evenly. And they are large enough it will be difficult to clog them. When I up pot to the 3gal, I’ll just turn the tee so it’s facing out. The rings also allowed me to have more watering sources available. Although I have them capped at the moment, it’s always nice to have options.

Res change with:

RO Water
Sensi Grow A-B
B-52

I decided not to put the silicate in this change. I wanted to see if the ph perfect works. I also decided to use the SLF-100 during my mini flushes. Together with the Photosynthesis Plus-O, I think will be very beneficial. I’ll mix them up in a 2gal pump sprayer and just hand flush weekly. Not putting an enzyme product in my res will also cut down on the bio-slime. Gelatinous brown goo is not what you want going to your plants.

I added an additional 1 minute feeding. I scheduled it right in between the first two. So now they get a 1 minute feeding at 3,9,15 hours after lights on. Super stoked guys, they are even starting to smell a little. Here are the ladies. Happy growing!

I’ve noticed over the last few days what appear to be the early stages of N toxicity. This started a few days after I began full strength res mixes. And it seems to only be effecting #2&3. This leads me to believe I’m over feeding just a hair. I added 3 gallons of RO water to the res. This brought the EC from 1.6-2.0, to a solid 1.4 (800-1000ppm, down to 700ppm). I’ll see if there is any improvement. If not I’ll go a little lower. I still have the ability to add more feedings in per day if I need to as the EC drops. I’m now off script with regards to the bottle. That’s ok though. I’m more interested in listening to the plants than following bottle schedules anyway. I figure if I’m overreacting I can alway just bump it back up.

What do you guys think? Did I do the right thing or am I overreacting?
