Sorry I haven’t updated lately. I feel no one really wants to follow veg. And since I didn’t have any major issues, there was nothing that I couldn’t sum up now. So without further ado, we are flipping the next flower run.

These girls began veg as potted rooted clones on April 15th. Vegged for 4 weeks under T5’s,up potted and under 400w HPS since May 13th (about 3 weeks). They are the same White Widow strain, all the #1 pheno, in 3 gallons of straight coco coir with Hydroton topping to help keep bugs out.

Currently feeding 3 times a day. Remo Nutrients Micro and Grow (soon Bloom), silicate, calmag, bio-cozyme. Current EC = 1.4. Weekly hand fed microbe tea of Roots Organic Extreme Serene, Photosynthesis Plus O microbes and molasses. PH is monitored daily and kept between 5.7 - 6.2.

They were under a Yield Lab bulb, but I just upgraded to the Hortilux Super HPS. Last run the buds were small so I add a few changes to the nutrients and environment. I like how they are doing so far :D

So the clay pebbles is like play sand topping? Just to deter bugs?

I like growstones, if they are not available I use clay witch I call dog chow, you get a clear drain with growstones but enforcer is right I never had a problem with pests.
What do you think about using sand? Does it start to clog the media? Coco?
Buds for life

I have never used sand in my mix except for my cacti, if you are trying to get rid of pests i=me use food grade DE Earth, for gnats or fruit fly sprinkle around plants leave for 72 hours you can then flush it out or leave it, De Earth is an organic way to get rid of pests it will allso add a bit of cal-mag to your plants if you are haveing issues with leaf fade. Your friend

End of week 1.

The girls have stretched a bit. I’ve needed to move the fan and light twice, only a few inches each time. I’m trying to keep the nodes as tight as possible. Res is filled with REMO Micro + Bloom + Astroflower, silicate, calmag, Bio-Cozyme. EC=1.7 fed 4 times a day. I’m not quite at full recommend strength on Remo’s line. This is fresh coco this run, so I’m still using .4 EC of calmag to keep the plants happy. When I cut out the calmag in a week or two, I’ll up Remo. Humidity is 42%-56% Temps 68*-80*F. Growth has been very strong. I’m happy with Remo so far.

End of week 2, day 14 of flower.

Dropped the calmag to .2 EC as the plants are looking fine. I upped Remo’s line to compensate and the total EC is still 1.7. I’m running 170ml in my res and the recommendation is about 210ml. So almost full strength but not quite. I’m keeping the silicate in the mix for now, but I’ll probably drop that around week 5. They are just finishing thier stretch, probably just a few more days. Building some buds and looking great. I’m happy with the way this run is shaping up. I think this is the best run so far, and I’ve ran this strain 3 times now. I have been pulling bigs fans here and there to thin out the canopy, but not a huge amount of defoliation. Happy growing!

What type of drip ring do you use? 1/4" black vinyl piping? I tried using clear vinyl air tubing for aquariums and it doesnt like the heat

Yeah, 1/4” Black tubing and some plastic T’s. I read the clear tubing will grow some funk and clog, as it lets light in. I’m on my 3rd run with these rings. I run an H2O2 solution through the whole system at the end of each run. No problems so far.

End of week 3 (day 21)

That’s a 4’ bamboo stake. I needed an anchor point to pull some colas out of the fan.

Took some light off pics so I could see the true color. This is right after the light went out. I’m cutting out the calmag from here on out. I had already cut it in half about 2 weeks ago. They look plenty green and healthy. Happy growing.

I also dropped to an EC=1.5 but added another feeding. Now feeding 4 times during light on for 2 minutes each. One, 1 minute feeding in the middle of dark cycle just to keep the coco moist.

Update week 4: Day 28 of flower.
No issues. I have done some selective pruning. They are loving the Remo nutes. I shot them an email asking for one of their stickers. I have a collection in my grow room. They sent me a few stickers, a lighter leash, and a t-shirt. Very cool, thanks Remo!
