That's kind of a complicated question to answer. On one hand, the autoflowering genes come from ruderalis, which is low in THC, but high in CBD. I assume there's a variety of other cannabinoids and terpenes as well. So the challenge when making an autoflowering version of a photoperiod strain is getting the autoflowering gene(s) into the cross while minimizing how much the photoperiod target cultivar changes/loses in the process. The autoflower breeders might well be out-crossing or back-crossing to other cultivars to try to dial in certain attributes (like THC potency). Until we can do targeted gene editing, the only thing I think we can say with confidence is that the autoflowering version of Strain A isn't Strain A.Ohhh ok got it, thanks for the info gromie..so are autos really as potent as some companies claim?
Oh ok that’s what was thinking..autos vs photo may be similar but not the sameThat's kind of a complicated question to answer. I second this. Soma hands down in my opinion. I believe he got his hands on the original cutBest is subjective, of course, but Soma's version won a Cannabis Cup a while back. I'd probably stay away from short flowering and auto versions, because who knows what you lose with the cross.
This one is amnesia haze from rqs![]()

Main thing I’ve found is autos are unforgiving if you make any mistake you really losing yield but they are fun to watch flower under 18/6 just weird to meOh ok that’s what was thinking..autos vs photo may be similar but not the same
