Why does Cbd weed smell different from the original weed we know?

I have been wondering alot about this

Cant really seem to find anything about it on the internet though

Would be pretty cool to get an explanation or know if i have just been smelling some cbd hay

I grow cbd and thc . I was almost setting up a commercial cbd grow so i know a lot about cbd and thc .
If you had some of my cbd you would not tell any difference between thc or cbd except the effects .
Taste smell smoke the same . Dried its the same .
Most people that sell it just cant grow it good . Keep in mind cbd is also harvested about 2 to 3 weeks sooner then thc before any of the triclomes mature to stop thc spikes .
Yes a cbd plant left to long can go up in the 3 to 5 % thc range . Its only legal about .05 in most states .
You would like my cbd. Smoke it all day ! So soft and tasty on the lungs . Perfect

CBD weed can smell different from regular weed because it often has lower levels of terpenes, which are responsible for that strong, classic cannabis aroma. If it smells more like hay, it might be lower quality or improperly cured.

CBD smell nothing different than THC, terpene profile will depend on strain and phenotype, if your cbd smell and/or taste different that's the growing/drying/curing pratices and methods that are questionnable

I kinda disagree with this. Most CBD weed has more e-pinene than THC weed, thats why it tastes like pine tree. There are some strains that contain more terpenes that help mask that pine flavor but its totally normal in MOST CBD strains. If youre growing CBD youre probably investing in good seeds that also have other flavor profiles and high CBD content, right?

This, less of other terpenes, same or more e-pinene. The concentration of CBD is usually lower than THC strains too. 15% CBD is considered medium and 20%+ very high, while THC strains can get up to 35% nowadays. More trichomes, more terpenes.

Anyway, if you grow your own weed and search for a flavorful CBD strain you can get CBD weed that doesnt taste like pine, but if you buy it online thats gonna be the flavor most of the times unless you spend a considerable ammount of money in a different flavour strain.

They can grow it good but the price skyrockets hahaha. He is probably buying standard CBD for cheap price. Under equal conditions CBD will always have more e-pinene than THC but you can totally mask that flavor with a good and well grown strain. That said CBD strains do tend to smell and taste like pine when theyre not specifically chosen by the grower to avoid that profile. Right? Ive grown CBD and 1:1 in the past and I manage the grow of my best friend that grows only CBD and 1:1 and thats what we have encountered. If you dont search specifically for strains to avoid that prevalent e-pinene most of them have it in their profile flavor (doesnt mean its gonna be the most prevalent flavour though, depends on the strain).

Ive been through a lot of catalogs of CBD searching for strains that dont taste even a little bit of pine, and most of them have e-pinene at higher levels. Some cheeky banks describe it as cypress flavour instead of pine so you think its not the same.

Im just now going through several CBD catalogs because I dont wanna make a fool of myself and yes, most of them have pine in their flavor profile. Its not weird for THC strains to have e-pinene as a prevalent flavor either but when you compare catalogs, pine flavor profile appears in almost all CBD strains unlike in THC strains.

yeah you ll get rather the same taste and terpene profile dispersion amongst strain and phenotypes with cbd or thc strain.

i buy some cbd flowers from the store once in while, various strains , far from all have some pinene ... tho' my favourite from the store "belle des champs CBD" is high in pinene

Thats probably because theyre trying to run away from the e-pinene because many people hate it when swaping from THC to CBD 😂 I bet is not cheap CBD either. In here, if you go for a reasonable price CBD strain you will get a secondary flavor but the main one is gonna be pine, if you want something that doesnt taste like pine at all the price goes up... Anyway do what I just did and go through CBD seed strains catalogs, you will see how pine is in almost all of them which is not the case when you go through a THC catalog (More breeders, more strains, more effort to avoid e-pinene to be the most prevalent terpene)

It seems to me like whats happening here is that you guys are avoiding e-pinene (except for the strain that you like HerbalEdu). Of course if you search specifically for CBD seeds that dont have as much e-pinene your experience will be different, because youre not going for the classic CBD strains, youre going for strains that have been bred to be more flavorful. If you grow a first gen CBD plant you wont be able to scape the pine flavor.

cbd price isn't much different than thc black market price here.

you ll get a gram of flower for 4€ to 10€ depending strains, and you can get some mixed trim flowers slighlty cheaper.

most of the flowers, come from swiss, spain, italy.

I know of a website that has some strains at 0,60-0,80 per gram. My friend bought there and the bubblegum was on sale, 0,80euros per gram. He said that it doesnt taste like bubble gum (strawberry gum flavor) but at least its sweet and it doesnt taste like pine. For that price, 1 euro per gram or so, is very rare for the strain to not taste only like pine so I really commend them for not selling the usual pine stuff at 1 euro per gram. Maybe they ship to europe.

no i just buy a strain when the name please me more or less at random, and pinene isn't especially a more common terpene than some others. my store have a catalog of like 30 to 40 CBD strains to choose from.

i usually buy 3 4 strains at time 2 3 gr each. to vary with my own cannabis taste, as i grew one strain at time.

swiss and spain start having a long history with CBD tho they're far away from first gen cbd strain high in pinene. italy is following spain with cbd, and netherland market and breeder haven't shown an high interest for cbd strain.

Well maybe its just my experience then. Every time I bought CBD online it tasted like pine and herbs and I think thats why most people say they dont like how CBD flower tastes. Most people are buying cheap CBD flower. In my case it took more than 1 hour of searching CBD seeds to give a few strains to choose from to my friend to grow that didnt taste like herbs, pine or spices.

When I meant a CBD catalog I meant a CBD seed catalog, go see for yourself how most of them have pine as prevalent flavor.

i haven't looked much into 20:1 30:1 cbd strains so far, just grown like 10 1:1 strains.

i tried to look for some swiss seeds, as they have a long history of cbd governemental regulation now, didn't found much ...

Yeah man, its harder to find good CBD than it is to find good THC. Its getting more popular every year, Ive been looking at the charts of CBD consumption around the world but mostly in Spain because I wanna get a CBD grower license. It will get better soon, more breeders, more strains, easier to find good stuff.
