cooda I use clones outside of stuff like Chemdog D, white, blueberry, ecsd, scmk and phenos from seeds I started. outdoor season is when I can finally pop as many seeds as I want and try new strains.

I always start making clones in January of my keepers I already have and also start seeds of what I want to try. After around 9 weeks my seedlings usually sex. I destroy the males and make a few clones of the females.

I always make enough clones of my known keepers to make the goal I have for harvest. that way I know I will have X amount of females no matter what. Then the females I find from seed are gravy. I also mark the plants that were actually the seed moms. They get bigger, deeper holes because a seedling will usually get bigger than a clone. They can make for some picturesque monsters.

Unless you have a big indoor operation you can't germinate 10 packs of seeds at one time. Some people, myself included get stuck in ruts running our clone only strains. Too me there is nothing more fun about growing weed then popping and growing seeds. Some people have 30 or more different strains going outside.

Some people like to strike the seeds right at the planting site. No fuss, no muss and no hassle. Then they pull the males or use female seeds.

Kid twist I am a fun time waiting to happen. I love to smoke pot while doing my hobbies and activities.

Fishing is a great co-hobby for growing. They both work well together and you can find pot planting sites while fishing and fishing spots while looking for planting spots.

i am getting some C99 here in about a week. was going with my old time favorite white widow, but for some reason me thinks this will keep me ok.
i know this is nearing the end june, but i am going ahead with this plan; i am going to start the seeds as soon as possible, get a little growth on them and they will then live out side. after some clones i am going to let them do as they want. i am going to keep one male and i have some outdoor white widow and will breed the male C99 with a female WW. for indoors and thru the later months this year.
i am 500 miles north of the gulf of mexico.
i have lost 4 female WW outside because of the heat and i have to start something now to keep me half ass perpetual grow going. i want the plants to have the optimal light. indoors i was only getting 1-2 ozs per plant...my fault and i dont wanna get into a debate about my lighting. here recently i have seen some magnificent plants growing out doors and damn i can do that! right there in broad daylight too! so i have found my area with a sorta decent inconspicous location that i think C99 outght to do well. this location may not have 6-8 hours of continous direct sun but the total of the day does add up to more direct hours than 8 right now.
gambling on 50/50 out of ten seeds. i could have 5 females. (like i said tho clones will come off the best female and she will probably also be an indoor mom.) i know i could have no females out of 50/50 thinking too. cause each seed is 50/50 and not the batch.
like i have read here..somewhere i around the middle/end of july till middle/end of aug is when C99 is wanting to decide what sex. so i could have 1-2 months of veg. me figures..the delay of inside to outside, getting established and the into flower i am pushing it on this outside season...
does anyone have similar experience in this late of the outdoor season?

If you get the seeds next week and get them going you should veg them inside if you want a yield. Lets say you get them germed and popping the ground by July 7th. They would still probably veg a couple weeks and maybe until August but the nights are getting longer. If you vegged them inside until Aug and make sure they veg fully they would get bigger. I am saying this if you want them to yield the most they can.

Otherwise I am basically doing the same thing but put soaked seeds in the ground yesterday. Even if they respond like a 12/12 seed grow I will be happy because I already have other stuff out. But they should still veg even if just a half speed veg for a few weeks. I think they will have a normal veg in July. But if you are really needing to maximize the results if I were you I would veg them under lights until August then stick them out.

Your plan has merit though and is totally doable.

Good Luck and welcome to the thread and thcFarmer.

Outside I usually have the start of flowering (flowering like inside after 2 weeks of 12/12) around Aug 20. I always figured it took at least 2 weeks of 12/12 maybe more to have them look like they do on Aug 20th. So if you go back 2 weeks to say August 6 that is when they actually started to think about flowering. The darkness started increasing after June 21 (solstice). Outside isn't like inside. Inside you switch to 12/12 and then after 2 weeks or so they are flowering. Outside they have a long transition period where they keep sensing longer and longer nights. it doesn't have to be 12/12 the 39-40 days of slowly increasing light is what triggers them. They actually can have lots of hairs here and there by August 6th.

It might be better for you to keep them on 24 hr light until you put them out so they get started quicker. Unless you can grow outside all of October. That is my 2 cents.

tabor! wow dude. you answered my dilemma. sounds dead on and very profound. the answer is right there.
do all my veg indoors. I dont care if they get outside by august; i will keep them on 24hr light till they go outside. marijuana is pretty tough once it is established and it will fiqure out what to do and when to do it.
i am expecting joey weed C99.

i have some kush, er, master kush from dutch passion me thinks..that is one beautiful plant. should be a decorative plant for the indoors. but i aint that crazy about the high..it seems entirely too hard to think for me and my attention span on kush was non existant it seems. good for back ache tho. there is one in the woods and the mother of this plant is long tall and stretchy, but this clone is medium/short and bushy as all get out..i am sure it is the optimal light source. but it thrives .. "like growing like a weed" so to speak.

my 5 outdoor white widows came out of flowering and i rejuvenated them. they looked so promising. and this was there 3rd regeneration, but they could not handle this 100+ degree weather. i watered daily, then i stopped for one or two days and no matter what i did ..superthrive, molasses, H2O2, feed, just a little water or soaking the whole area with water, after their spell of the heat they never came back. hmm, i also know a little about pestcontrol and always soak my area with a pyrethin, (marijuana will not absorb pesticides) just for grubs. and molasses is also bad for the grubs. but the one WW is looking really well, makes me proud. i do not think i lost 4 white widow plants cause i did not water for 2 days.

i bring what i can indoors when temps get below 45 degrees. the plant does nothing at or below 45 degree, it may finish at 45 degrees, but other than that, that's it for the plant. but some i have dug some up and forced them back into vegestation and have not even thought of any decline in the plant. some i have thought that this was the mother only to find another after rejuvenation. must be poor genetics and thats why i switched to joey weed.

i like the white strains and if ya'll guys know of anything that will compliment C99 and the WW, let me know, joey was out of the C99xA11.

another thing..all my regenerations and rejuvenations the plants all keep their white hairs while being put back into vegestation.. strange huh?

thx 8th man.

Glad I can help. Veg inside but get the sun to do the flowering for some fat buddage.

Here are some pics from tonight of 2 Purple Erkle White and 1 Fire White. They seem to be loving their spot. They are now starting to get taller than the cages. They actually have the cages jammed with branches. If nothing chews at the tops until the next time I visit I will remove the cages. They will be instant freakin bushes. They all got 3 gallons of fertilizer water each since I was there.

This spot is near a rain run-off natural ditch and lays a bit low so it has been getting more water when it rains then just the spots I have getting 2/10 of an inch at a time. We did get a decent rain a few days ago but for the most part it has just been scattered showers amounting to next to nothing.

Looking good tabor, I will take some pics of my bog grow next time I go out there. There are a few that are already outgrowing their cages as well.

This is the time when things start to grow faster and faster. By the end of July many of us will have some pretty nice plants. Looking forward to some bog action.

The whole site seems a bit slow the last few days. So here are some pics of some dry sifted (tray) original haze kief. It was a snack bag full of fine trim. The corner bags of the big trim bag. It was over dry and I was expecting the worst. SURPRISE! Two small pocket knife tips in the bowl and 2 tokes got me blasted. But I still did more soon after. LOL!

Nice kief

This summer has been so rainy I haven't had to water but 2 or 3 times. I can't get my weed to dry properly(for smoking) I am looking forward to some drier weather where I am. Tobor I would love to go catfishin with you, but I would be afraid the fire dept would be called with all the smoke coming from our area

Half Way Done!! Put 20 N/L in the ground last night. The rain has been a bitch, but we have been dry for a couple day"s and got them in. 18x18x18 holes, soil mixed with pearlite and bat guano. Fuckin corn is 6ft tall already.:icon_dizzy: 20 more to go, hopefully we can get the rest in by Sunday night. :character0029:

The corn is huge around here too. It is always kicking "knee high by the 5th July" standards. Hell it is normally over head high by the 4th of July.

N/L is a good strain. It was always great weed and got me high, yielded good and other people liked it. The right N/L pheno is as good as anything available in clone or seed. I think that can be said for many strains though. Just gotta find it.

Twenty is a very good number of plants for a midnight run especially if it was a solo mission. You will be getting a nice harvest from them. Now the next 20 is a bonus run insurance policy or a bumper crop if you harvest 40 plants come October. That should be an easy 20 lbs from 40 cornfield plants and a chance at 40+.

I didn't do it this year but I must admit I loved planting the corn. It was thrilling and fun to be out there at 2 in the morning. Plus cornfield plants can be big yielders for minimal work.

Congrats on mission #1 Midnight_sun!

I went out and did some checking tonight. It has been void of any real rain around here lately. There was something making a bunch of noise in the one creek. It was splashing around and the splash noise was very loud. It was out towards the middle and I was walking in the water along the edge. It coninued with the major splashing even when I was right even with it along the bank. Then I took another step and slipped a bit and made a kinda loud splash when I dropped the 5 gllon container I was gonna fill. It went under and it was super quiet and I was thinking "Why did I watch that stupid movie Dinocroc vs Supergator?.

So I let the can on it's side to start filling and I got up on shore and lit a joint. There was a lot of moonlight and I could see a big shadow in the water with some shine in spots. It was like 6 feet long and pretty dang thick. Then it came real close to shore where the can was and I could see that it was 3 enormous carp cruising the banks and rolling on top of the water. It was kinda scary when I first saw the big scales but then I settled down. They were all probably a yard to 45 inches long and had scales big as silver dollars and 50 cent pieces. It was still freaky.

There was only one plant that I visited that looked in need of water though. I still gave every one I visited 5 gallons of creek water. Only one creek had much water in it. The other two the creek edges were bone dry with the rocks exposed.

I remember carp fishing with corn when I was a kid. I was born in eastern Ohio and my folks had a camp up near the poconos. I was lots of fun hooking onto monster carp using canned corn as bait.

Last night was a full moon so all the animals were very active. I saw plenty of wildlife that I normally don't see last night as well. A raccoon and her 2 kids ran across the road and I almost ran them over then around the next corner 2 deer ran right in front of the vehicle. When I got home the sounds of coyotes and birds echoed across the lake all night.

The weather here has been perfect, I haven't even checked on my plants in a few weeks. We have had constant sunshine for 3-4 days strait and then we get a day of scattered showers. It has been like this since I put them out. I hope it stays like this until the middle of August and then drys right out.

That would be an east coast dream. I always want the drought to start Sept 1 or so. LOL!

The critter sightings are one of the best parts of this outdoor marijuana growing.

Yup, lol, you are growing strains that finish a little later then mine. My early durban is done the first part of September and my durban cross is done the middle September hense my wish haha.

Ok your drought can start in August. LOL!

Just a little update photo session on my container grows. The seedlings are doing super. These pics were taken at dusk so they are starting to take their nap.

The 20 Tangerine Surprise and the 8 Tangerine Tar are loving their homes. The other container plants are keeping it green too.

We got 3 tenths of an inch of rain today. Alert the media!! News worthy around here.
