That looks like an excellent light. @HerbalEdu won't steer you wrong. I also recommend a controller for the light (and other devices). You'll need to schedule when the light is on and off. During the vegetation stage, it's common to run the light on an 18/6 schedule — 18 hours on and 6 hours off. The power is also increased into the flowering stage.
One of the challenges of inside growing is vertical space, i.e., the distance from the plant to the light. These plants can grow tall and it's best to have about 18 inches between the top of the plant (at harvest) and the light. You'll need to keep that in mind as you plan your grow. A rough estimate is to change the light to flowering schedule when the plant crowns are 1/3 the distance from the soil to the light. These plants can double their height within two weeks of the light schedule change. It's known as "the stretch."
That should be plenty. I only grow three plants at a time for just the two of us, and we still give some of it away. I usually get about 4 ounces per plant. Right now, I have three that are ready to flower and two clones that I'll probably grow outsi
Well I am so grateful. The stuff I get from the dispos these days seems to be marginal at best. And to be honest, at 57 I think I have smoked enough to differentiate. Hence the menopause passion project! For many of us, the reward is in the growing of excellent weed, and helping others to do the same.
yeah to me this a lot dependant in what country you live and also what's easily accessible in gardening shop or growshop nearby if there's some or on line where you live ; diy nutrients recipes also. We'll probably want to talk about nutrients soon...
Listen to this catthey are looking good but you'r gonna need a proper light to get decent results when flowering. Not one from a shadowy chineese led manufacturer you'll find on amazon and ali express they rarely advertise on the true wattage of their led fixtures ...
This cat as well! We'll probably want to talk about nutrients soon...
Utilizing space wisely.Wing and a prayer was my plan.I’d love some guidance. These were planted 2/5. Fox Farms soil, super cheap Amazon LED lights and a red LED. Truly no clue what I’m doing but open to any and all feedback! Thanks in advance and happy Friday eve!
They definitely do not manufacture in the USA.I have all VIVOSUN products, they are a US based company out in Cali but im unaware if they manufacture in the US or just have the business here. Im a new grower so not much experience with them but after talking about my kit and posting it no one has really said anything negative about it.
Just called them yesterday to get some specs. Knowledgeable and helpful.Ventilation and Customer Service, AC Infinity is the best IMO
Which soil is it? It's probably either Happy Frog or Ocean Forest. The soil you're using will determine which nutrients to use and when to use them.Fox Farms soil
@Marlie also if they were planted 2/5 and they are not already flowering they are most prolly photoperiods seeds wich mean you gonna need to switch the light schedule from 18/6 to 12/12 when you want to flower them what's important is 12 hours of uninterupted night time to start to flower, this could be achieved with a tent or diy cupboard/closet, or a room dedicated to flowering plants.
then when you start having a small closed environnement the next big thing is a passive air intake and an extractor to renew the air and evacuate heat and humidity.
I have learned so much from you all!! I’ve been reading off and on all day.I legit did the same thing. Just planted and hadn’t planned much hahah. You’ll eventually end up getting the whole set up. Just makes life easier and grows better weed! Me and a buddy are bother growing and it’s neat to see the difference when it comes to equipment and results/general know how
Just ask a lot of questions for sure
I have this soil and bought these nutrients per someone’s recommendation.About nutrients...

IMO, organic nutrients like Gaia Green General Purpose and Power Bloom are good to start growing. It's what I use, along with some amendments. They also work well with Fox Farm's soil.
I use the fox farm ocean forest soil, I mix it 50/50 with fox farm Happy frog soils.I have this soil and bought these nutrients per someone’s recommendation.
No problem!That’s great thank you!!
The OP upgraded the light since the first post, they ended up purchasing a Vivosun Aerolight 200 watt.i think you should top them :) wont cost you a thing and you'll get a higher yeild. with small lights you want to keep your plants short and stocky.
may i ask what is your lights wattage?
I have been driving my family insane with all of my newfound knowledge!!No problem!
If you use Fox Farm soils in future photoperiod grows, I recommend the Happy Frog to start your seeds in and starting them in small cups like solo cups with drainage hole cut in the bottom. You can always switch or mix soils when you transplant from smaller containers.
It's awesome seeing someone come here to learn and seeing everyone in the forum come together to help you!
Good luck on your journey, will definitely be looking for updates!
