That's pretty cool. The problem is, they don't take into consideration all the different strains. Grown side x side every strain will yield differently. *

why thats an awesome to help plan how large a grow you need to do to cover needs. seems i need to step it up to a 400w haha. very innovative. adding strains and space parameters would be next

I try to shoot for targets. My rule of thumb is i try to get 3/4+ lbs per 1000w every 30 days. And others have said its strain specific. Example i shoot for at least a 3 lbs harvest on a 4x8 lit w/ 2 1000w HPS if it were filled with Headband. On the other hand if i were runnin Caboose i would be shootin for 4+ lbs with the same setup.

did any one notice that the less lumens psf the higher the yield went --until a certain point i found that odd but i dunno

How do you figure out the whole lumens thing. I have 2 1000watt bulbs in a 8x5 area. I know im retarded lol

Need to know specs of your particular bulb ...

Lets say your bulb is 120 000 rated lumens.

2 bulbs x 120 000 = 240 000 lumens

240 000 divided by sq footage (8x5=40 sq ft)

240 000 / 40 = 6000 lm/sq ft

Cheers

I like to figure about 1/2 gram per watt. For me this is pretty accurate since I can pull about 7 zips from 1 400 watter in soil

Is that really true that the peak is around 5500 lumens and as you get higher it lowers yield?

No. Unless I'm missing something, the sun throws out a hell of a lot more lumens than 5500. Where was the source for that little bit of misinfo? :evilgrin0040:

Thats what this calculator showed when I was playing around with it.
