and I am going to interrupt their dark period for an Hour each night with sup lights to keep it in Veg till August.
(I think , I may be able to stop the sup lights just past the Summer solstice ;) June 21st)days get shorter
Great plan Ken

The One I rooted, took a couple weeks..By then, the others were toast..
They keep wilting right away (all my cuts lately)
And the GSC dont stand back up like the others do.. ..
I soaked a couple GSC cuts(lowers) in water for a few days..
They still looked good when I put them in the rapid rooters..But I think they have wilted now..:(
I did the same with some ewok cuts in the same water...They look great.
My well water PH has gone up a little lately for some reason..But its still below 7
So I dont think thats ito_O

Well water quality fluctuates seasonally, typically getting harder during dry periods of the year. Maybe the ewok likes the boost of calcium...? just thinking out loud

I have been fighting with root riot headaches myself since last summer. I have tried everything, dome, no dome; tap water, RO water, regular nute water, sterile with chlorox, or zone, or with bennies.

In the end, the wilt pattern seems to be this: soft stemmed cuts for some reason shrivel up and die first at the bottom (cut part), then that prevents water from being absorbed up the stem to keep it alive.

This never seems to happen with highly woody stiff cuts, only soft gummy stemmed varieties.

I notices that it NEVER happens with any cuts if you fill a keg party cup with coco then put a cut in there and water like a regular plant. Invariably, it will root as long as you dont let it COMPLETELY dry out.

Therefore I began to believe that the hole in the rapid rooter is too tight and in forcing down the fragile stem it is somehow damaged so the tip cannot absorb water.

My solution 2 nights ago was to get a kabob stick/skewer and rout out the hole in the rapid rooter, creating a pocket inside. The actual visible hole is not made bigger on the surface, I just tear up the inside so its

zero force to sink the soft stem tip into the pouch so to speak. 100% of the ones I did like this 48 hours ago are still up.

That's exactly how I make the holes a Lil bigger in the rooters.. But I do it 4 different reasons I don't want the clone gel 2 get wiped off when I stick the stem in2 the rooter plug..

Snoop- i have had real trouble w/ my gsc clones. They take forever. And when they are finally rooted, they dont look happy by any means and takes about 4days to override the shock. I do the same method as u. I think its the strain. My ATF sharing the same tray rooted way faster and healthier. Im also having a similar problem with my tahoe alien #4. Best o luck! Z

My question to anyone struggling with GSC cuts is: Have you cut many OG Kush cuts?? And, if you have and your doing well with OGK than your seeing GSC is easier, imo. OGK is one of the toughest cuts to get to root and keep steam. The more true the OGK the tougher to root, ime.
Just a thought...fwiw

Take note Ken! I had a few cups of water with various kinds in them and ALL the GSC got softer from the water after a couple days and me slacking...lol All the other strains stayed woody enough and were easy to clone but I lost almost 5-6 GSC cuts the first few days which is quite rare for me. Those cuts I lost were tough to put in the rw even and I had a feeling they weren't gonna make it from the start...

Don't let GSC sit in water for more than a day max...before cutting. That's what I've picked up so far from her, and she likes food like OGK the later part of flowering and you gotta foliar your cuts when your transitioning them from no dome to the other atmosphere. Nitrozyme or some seaweed and voila it usually helps harden them up.

Great info BaBa

Oh , also Ken those lowers were what I was cutting as well, if you had tops or established branches in water they might pull through better but I typically don't see any benefit to longer than 24 hours and only a few hours or half a day seems perfect...

When I say the OGK likes food and the GSC too when finishing up rooting, I don't mean heavy feeding by anymeans as most seem to think the GSC is a low metabolizer...
But, a bit of bloom will do wonders to clones that would have yellowed and taken longer without that bloom kick!
