LOL. I spent my first 26 years in Misery...'er...Missouri, MoGrow. Grew up in the KC area and my parents live in Laurie currently.

I remember Whizzo and Old Gus too. ...and when I was about 7 I was on 'Toreytime" with my grade school class and won a Whamo Whirlee Twirlee spinner gig like this. Jealous, huh? :D

Harold was my favorite guy to watch years ago. He had a quiet knowledgeable demeanor about him. My all time favorite was the Linder brothers. Those guys knew their shit and mostly used fly rods.
Sky, you were right about being careful in the mountains. Drove up Wednesday and gotta say you guys were right about all the snow. The last 20 miles was white knuckle one lane at about 30mph. Haven't seen a dump like this in a while. Snow flakes were about the size of a quarter and coming down hard. Couldn't get in my driveway, had to walk about 5o yards to the door in hip deep wet snow. Looks like about 30 to 35". Last week when I was up there was no snow and the mud was gone. Shit, gotta go through mud season all over again. Wonder how many billions of gallons of water was dumped on the state this week.
Am originally from Misery as well, about 90 miles NE of KC. Mogrow, you can have all the chiggers and ticks you want and can keep.

I lived in Arkansas for 3 years when I was just out of high school. I like to tell people that other than the climate, the bugs and the people (racists!), it's a great place to live! Or, try these;

It's a vicious fabrication that an Arkansas mosquito can carry off a cow by itself. Everybody knows it takes two!

You can indeed identify the unique variety of Arkansas mosquito very easily- by the two inch wide spot right between the eyes...

When I was a kid, I thought Colorado was boring. Now that I'm older, this kind of "boring" is just how it like it!

come home to ol mizzou boys...
chiggers aren't as bad as u remember, really....
damn putembk, you were in the wheelhouse for outdoor growing if the ditch weed wasn't an issue..

Haven't been to the Ozark's since before 1970. Never saw anything to do with marijuana. But here is what I do remember. Humidity, round d round race tracks on the weekends, drive in's , ghost stories. Everybody had a garden like C-Man's. Secret hunting and fishing holes, trout lines, noodeling, quail. I could go on and on. Playing football on main street at midnight. Fucking harvest time in a stuffy barn. Gotta stop most probably don't understand. Oh, FARMING.

Yeah pute...it was fuckin coming down.....>steady<. That was the key. It seems like we get fronts/storms but they are shorter-lived than in the past. Hopefully we'll get a few more shots this week but I doubt we'll see a flow/feed of moisture like that again. Crazy shit for sure.

FWIW, guys.....there are a few days in the Spring and a few days in the Fall I miss....but other than that...I haven't missed a fookin thing about Misery in the 30 years I've lived in Colorado.

Misery is getting snowed on in may and september. when you have a crop in the ground.

I've seen accumulating snow on every month on the calendar here. One year they cancelled the fireworks on the 4th because it snowed 6 inches. LOL.

I don't believe a word....you are going to have to SHOW ME. By the way it is pronounced Missoura not Missouri.

Been reading about all the issues going on in Colorado currently and blah blah blah.....30% tax vertical integration, I have had enough. I now declare SPRING!!! Time to get outside! Enough snow already, has anybody in Colorado ever heard of rain??? Well, it's high time. Finally supposed to be warming up and I for one am ready to get the fuck outside and get some sun.
If you haven't heard Antero isn't going to be drained after all. Good news for all Coloradoans as far as outdoor recreation and our water supply this year. Gonna spend this weekend doing things around the house, planting, cleaning, mowing and sitting on the deck. (without a coat) Next week hopefully will have some time to do some dry fly fishing.
Looking forward to the summer, especially this year for some reason. Going to get so tan a green card will get more use than a red one.

We'll jump back in here rather than trashing the "Everest" thread.

So...ever been in here on yer trips to the flatttops?
There's a wicked couple of places to car camp above this canyon with serious views. I have to admit I've never camped there but it's on the list.

Ya know that would be close enough to get C-Man to come. I haven't been there but looks great. Gotta get somewhere close to running water though. There are lots of places around there where you can car camp. That would probably bring more farmers out. Could take day trips from there. Snow should be gone by first of July. Wonder what it would take to get a group to come.

Oh, sure! It's springtime in Colorado, all right- we've gotten 16" of 'sunshine' in just the last couple of days! Last night set a record low temp for the month of May, at 19 degrees. Balmy!

Ok ty, in about month when you are bitchen about the heat I will remind you of this post. ha ha
It's gonna warm up and soon. That is white gold falling in them thar hills and sorry we need every snow flake. Gonna hate me for saying this but, I hope it does this every week until June.

LOL. Was 15 here the last few AM's....not that that is unusual er anything. Gotta be meltin pretty fast down there though, huh? That 2 ft+ dump we got 2 weeks ago melted in a couple of days. We only got about 8" yesterday and it is goin fast already. Great moisture. Should do everyone well. The grass appears to be greening....and we should see leaves within a week or two. Yup. "Spring". LOL.

You mistake my intentions... I'm BRAGGING!

I'm as stoked about all the good water we're getting as you are- I don't hate you for saying it, but it won't stop me from bitching about the heat, either. That goes double if it does again what it did last summer; we didn't break the all time high temp for my fair city, noooo- but we tied it on three different days in the same week!

I remember last summer. Not only for me but was a bitch keeping the temp down in the basement.
